@@1995krampeYeah, and I don't think it's ever been anything rare or crazy.TVL has been handling those sounds for a while now. He's got the modulations, the wacked delays and Verbs, and angle grinding clipping.
Even though I'm a drummer and don't understand much in all that guitar stuff, it's always so nice to see videos behind the big scenes. Thank you for your work!
We love Rig-Rundowns, and you're a natural Bax! I'm listening to QOTSA right now on a different tab. "Live at festival Rock Werchter 2023" A really great show! I have a playlist on my channel called "CONCERTS!!! (play loud or die)" and Rock Werchter 2023 is one of them!
Love this video. I went to Raleigh last year to see them but it got rained out so saw them in Portsmouth a year later where it also rained but the show went on!
Great Interview Gentlemen.Beautiful De Leon and cool Echopark Explorer type body Guitar. Love those Vintage Amp Designs, too! On Par with warmth, sweetness ,and style Mr . Troy!👍😁🌟
OMG Baxter. Your cool level just went supernova. I saw them in VA two weeks ago on the rail in front of Troy. Amazing show, amazing band, amazing player.
I have a Sky King/Ampeg VT40. When I use both in A/B I rarely use pedals outside EQ stuff to cut stuff and push mids. Once I really got into the Ampeg EQ controls, I found by keeping the pedals fairly low gain, and using them to push other parts the amp wasn’t…really made it sing. If using one amp I’m full on 16 pedals deep lol.
Great vid Baxter! Your humor is cool. I know Josh H's gear probably remains in secret but I really thought your charm would sway his mystique. Oh well. Keep it up!
Anyone know the pedal he uses to boost the volume of guitar at the very end of songs? I noticed live how they had this incredible guitar volume boost to end most if their songs. I thought it was a very cool inventive way to King volume surge the ending of songs with a huge period!
I love his artist series Jazzmaster Fender’s got. I even got one in the Oxblood color as my first “real” Jazzmaster. I say real because I also have the Jazzmaster Acoustasonic. Which isn’t a Jazzmaster in anyway really besides the shape of it. And I love the shape and feel of Jazzmaster’s. They just fit me and feel right in my hands.
Sick rundown, shame you couldn't dive into the weirder guitars that I've seen him use on this tour. Saw them in Perth this year, absolutely insane show, they played Mexicola for a fan who said it was their birthday. Such a cool band with a unique vibe and seem to be generally down to earth dudes.
I was fortunate enough to buy one of these guitars was fortunate enough to buy it from Casino Guitars . One of my biggest regrets selling it was more of a have to for financial reason, but if I could get that guitar back, I would they’re truly unique and just about understanding the wood, the type of pick up the tone, one of a kind
The vintage Filtertrons are underated for harder break up and Fuzz, though known for great cleans.( Get a cheap solid body Gretsch to check it out).Their unique design reads low K output, but that's not necessarily that relevant; what you get is amazing clarity and harmonic content out of hell.Unless you're playing driven leads, the push isn't really desireable coming from the pickups, anyway; you want the clarity and sensitivity. Troy finally started using more of the boutique gifts, though still has the Way Huge and older EQD designs; I'm sure it's nice to have builders send you stuff, but in the end, you realize that some of the basics you've always used are hard to beat. Always thought that too many guitarists sleep on the potential of slide in whatever form; same goes for wah and basic volume pedal techniques, which are far from being fully explored.Just changing the effect order creates new possibilities. TVL has been the man if you like Garage Rock, but you also add the atmosphere and texture.
I'm more of a Jazz guy, Miles, Jaco & Weather, Danny Gatton. But agreed, Troy is the Best Rocker, Down to Earth & great player!❤🎸 Shout out from Asheville
He was really all about the Echopark that evening! They had two of them and used them a bit during the show but that blue beast really didn't leave his side too often. Thanks a ton for watching and all the best Bueller (love the handle)!
@@stevedeyne thx mate. Biopsy in the next 4-6 weeks. Tell all of your male friends - if you're over 45 yo ? Get a blood test to check for PSA markers indicating your prostate is problematic. Prostate cancer is a silent killer. No symptoms, no pain apparently, although an enlarged prostate like mine meas frequent visits to the toilet. If you're black and over 45 ? Get your blood tested. Everyone probably pausing during the pedalboard part trying to look across the stage at the other pedalboard😂

Did you realize you just let him blow through his pedals without even talking about them or use?
I just adore the tasty licks Troy plays!

That was cool....should have went through more geetars but it was fun,,thanks Casino Crew
Must be very sunny in there

Well, Gabe built me my personal J in 2014, which is a beautiful guitar I use as one of my go to axes in my studio…..
Interesting that he doesn’t mention or show his TVL Fender signature Jazzmaster (available in 2 colours) once in this ‘perfect rig rundown’. 🤔
Any idea on string gauges?

Great episode. Cool sunglasses Baxter. What brand?
Thanks a ton:) Gooder is the brand I believe:)
Come to play to León, Spain
They are close I believe!
Can someone do a companion series and just talk about all this gear and unpack it for us?
Let’s talk about the real star of the video, Baxter’s shoes 🔥🔥🔥
Baxter looks the part of a Rockstar!!
Nice❤
Please show some b roll of him noodling with his pedals during sound check!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I could have handled another hour of that. ❤
ummm where is his signature Jazzmaster
They probably ran outta time. You have to have an appointment to film an entire Rundown.

@CasinoGuitars I've seen a lot of footage from shows over the last year and I don't think he even has one with him on the road.
There’s at least two in his rack x
He still plays it live but lately all of QOTSA dudes have become Echopark players.
That's quite the pedal board.
Nice shoes, Troy.
Troy is allways well dressed
Bro I need to know the EXACT pedals not just fuzz overdrive haha. This is serious busyness
Who else is just desperately trying to gander at Josh's board from certain camera angles

Metal as foil

Ummmm.......can we hear any of it ???
This one goes to 11
he has a decade pedal to sound like himself.
Pointy boots is half the sound
(14:00) People ca listen without looking at the band playing... it's music - Not enough visuals for such expensive tickets
It's Troy effin Van Leeuwen, and you spent almost no time on his effects! Shame, shame.
I concur!!!! Do we have a second?!?!?!?
That's what I was here for and when I saw this and almost turned it off.
Qotsa are very secretive about their pedals!
Right? Worst ever. I see he had the Ten Years Decade pedal. Would have been interested in how or when he was using it. Always on?
Not Troy. At all.
I don’t use pedals 😂
Wow. That was the worst rig run through I’ve ever seen. At least they are going to be buddies and get dinner.
