Jackson was the stupidest Alpha that I didn't even feel bad when he died. He didn't recognise the threat of Abram, trusted the disloyal Miles most, didn't even flinch when Wilson bullied a mother cause he excluded Wilson from eating meat, didn't stay prepared and alert after enemy's danger and outright attack and was absolutely unorganised. The only things he was good at, was mating and reminding he is Alpha. Westerners were so organised, tactical and the Alpha there neutralised even a small show of aggression by his junior. The previous Alpha of westerners came back even after losing a hand, denounced his reign but stayed in the group, whereas Jackson went into hiding and died because of his pride and ego. He ruled purely based on numbers.

Truly amazing production with awesome footage. I've trekked chimpanzees in Kibale shooting both still and video and certainly know the challenges they faced and the tremendous skill it took to capture these images. Something that amazed me both in personal experience as well as observing in this making-of video is that the habituated chimps pay little or no attention to humans.

When they kick the bottom of a tree trunk. "Like they do" They seem to do the same thing in a cage. It's a powerful display.
