Chimps have killed or injured dozens of children in Uganda

- In Uganda, the encroachment of settlements into the country's western forests has sparked a battle between humans and chimpanzees.
So far this year, chimps have killed or injured dozens of children, and locals are retaliating by hunting down and poisoning their protected neighbours.
Taking their home and land, cutting down all their trees, then wonder why they are attacked. They even mentioned in this video they just "lost" their leader 2 months ago, so obviously they killed him. These animals are highly intelligent. They know they are being killed by humans.
- "...then wonder why they are attacked."
No, they don't.
Been existed in their land for 200 years ,not gonna surrender what's theirs without bloodshed
@@kiturselassie813 I'm sorry, but that's a funny thing to say. Chimpanzees' lifespan in the wild is usually less than 15 years. That's about how long they at most know they have lived in the area. Let's not humanize animals.
Sad to say but in 25 years they are 💀 and the world population will grow to 10 billion same to new world monkeys 🐒 in S. America.
@@thedreflacko if intelligence was a criteria for ownership, they'd have more right than you. Reprobate.
But hold on. Maybe you have a point. By logical extension, who actually owns the land I live on? And what gave them the right? And who gave the original land owner the right? So, logically, nobody really has any 'right' to own any land includinh the land I live on. Apologies, you are a f**kin' genius. I'm done paying for sh*t.
Considering how horrendous chimp attacks are I completely understand the villagers' desire to kill them. Animals compete for resources and so do we.
Finally, a reasonable comment
Yeah but chimpanzees are endangered. You can't justify it. The people are way more evil
@@omarsyr9203 its reasonable to kill a endangered animal and risk jail?
@@arielthepom well chimps killed some of the humans and eat other smaller primates too. Humans are not the only one to drive species to endangerment. Animals only care about their prosperity and we’re still animals. Chimp wouldn't hesitate to drive us to extinction if they become more intelligent than us.
@@arielthepom In the U.S. it is allowed to shoot any animal that is endangering life of people or livestock the people need to live.
The government should designate the area for chimp conservation and pay the people to move to a different location. Chimps are extremely endangered and they were there in the forests long before humans.
"...pay the people to move to a different location..." Most sensible comment on here. Genius.
No according to whatever evolutionists believe is " they remained in the forest much longer" and don't wanna come out to civilization
What happens when the next group of people move in, do you keep paying?
The better solution is to educate the locals to be caretakers and keep family away from protected areas.
Hey…where do you live??
The human population went from much less than half a billion to over 8 billion in the blink of an historical eye, a mere 500 years - The net result has been massive environmental degradation and destruction as well as rising animal and plant extinction rates. This is by any metric - unsustainable.
Mainly in Africa and Asia
True, no one is listening.
Don't despair. Former USN Secretary Ray Mabus, before he retired drew up some sound plans in conjunction with the elite Club of Rome's (WEF) societal reconstruction formula to exterminate 95% of the global population. We're presently in the preliminary stages. If you have a higher than average I.Q. You might make it into that 5% margin. You'll either become a ginormous valuable fish, or remain an insignificant but wily sprat slipping through the nets, staying off the radar. But then here you are.

Well, this is freaking disturbing. There are few deaths I can imagine worse than being taken out by a chimp.
It makes horrible sense, because apes will also kidnap the young of lions or leopards, in an effort to eliminate or drive away the enemy predators.
Incorrect, Apes do not kidnap Lion or Leopard cubs. You are thinking of Baboons and they are not Apes.
Baboons do that not apes and they only do that after what ever animals it was killed there young first so stop trying to make them look bad
People in the comments seem to lack all empathy for these Ugandans. There is no easy solution. Kenyans have challenges with lions killing cattle and elephants plundering crops. Indians face similar issues. Human wildlife conflict is a problem in parts of the world that have a booming population threatening the natural ecosystem. In the UK, wolves and bears were made extinct around 1,500 years ago. It's no surprise commenters on here can only offer shallow responses. Solutions are much harder to come by in developing countries but these countries governments and universities are trying to resolve these issues. It takes time.
I'm an animal person but don't believe in letting wild animals kill humans willy nilly. There has to be some kind of intervention surely?
The real problem is increasing human population numbers, which encroach more and more into wildlife habitat. Maybe it's not so much that there is a lack of empathy for the Ugandan people, but that we are witnessing many animal species being pushed to the brink of extinction all over the world, due to human beings refusing to control their numbers.
And everything on this earth have issues with HUMANS killing, destroying, stealing, disrespecting, etc., to not only animals and nature but to their own kind. So, who is the real evil villain here???? If someone invades your home, or constantly threatens or disrespects what is yours, are you going to roll over and let them keep at it? Understand this, THIS IS THE ANIMALS HOME FIRST! And everyone whose comments you don’t like, are entitled to express their opinion on this matter.

I think it’s hypocritical of everyone to blame the humans, they’re just doing what they have to do to survive as well. These poor villagers aren’t living in the lap of luxury and are just trying to make it with the bare necessities. It’s easy for people, especially for those living in wealthier western countries, to point and say leave their habitat alone but a wild dangerous animal was strolling their neighborhood threatening their kids that animal would’ve been killed a long time ago.

The Ugandan Government needs to create job opportunities for these people so they can relocate. Create an infrastructure where you can create something to trade with another African nation. @@adoatero5129 The animals can still live here though. Most people don't kill every animal they see. (Some idiots kill everything they don't like but they aren't important to society)
Bruh it's our lawn too we evolved there.
lol.
@@eldritchf4568 but unlike them we cause problems wherever we go.
Chimps are dangerous. Cannibalism is very common.
On that basis, humans are very dangerous! They spread diseases, they destroy other creatures en mass, they pollute the world, they fight and destroy, and worst of all, they have developed weapons of mass destruction. It's all very common!
These animals are trying to protect their living space! Man has taken all their natural living space and with it their food supply I don't blame these chimps but it's very sad for families who lose children!

_Rise of the Planet of Apes_ was a prophecy 💀
I don't care how endangered a species is...if it threatens me and my own, or just humans in general, it's time for extinction mode.
Yes. Like you came to the Americas and tried to wipe out our people and the people of the lower Americas. Then call us names and like you enslaved people you brought over to the Americas. You reap what you sow.
Nature is dying, this is a sad consequence of the decline in our environment and humanities wilful ignorance in our part of its destruction.
Caesar is raising his army
Too many people
Will we ever realise that we don’t own everything?
The government needs to relocate these people along with a MASSIVE PSA to announce the concept of BAD TO overpopulate without enough resources. TO ALL.
Maybe even just funding people to move to a city might help. Paying for their rent, until they find a job. Letting them use a hostel until they have a job and can move out. Maybe basic meals, too.
Do the same for ranchers near Yellowstone where gray wolves are roaming or any other rural western states with dangerous animals..."move them to cities and pay their rent until they find a job". Let's see how rural people would like that in this country. Ugandans perspectives could be the same as yours concerning their lifestyle and the safety of their children.
The government needs to do something
I’d release tigers into the forest 🌳 🐅
Did you know that Uganda scored 27/100 in the Corruption Perception Index?
How many Ugandans brutalized Chimps in the same area
maybe get out of their territory and stop destroying their habitat , my sympathy is with the chimps
they are very suspicious of humans. YEAH Me Too!!
May be a división of land would be a solution
Chimps don't understand such concept. I think it is better to relocate the humans.
I'm sure a Chimp understands a legal document, don't you Fred
"Of course I do.
Thats the bit where you throw the Banana skins under the Bus 🤣🤣🤣 isn't it.
he said there is no other land for those chimps did you watch all the video ?
