Best concert of my life. Was at this actual performance in London at Earls Court. There music is so emotive and so well played coupled with awesome visuals and a flawlessly clear surround sound system so that the audience weren't just listening to the music, they were in it. Total immersive emotion. Have never experienced anything like it before or since. I'm 75 now, been a fan since they first started about 59 years and I still get goosebumps listening to their music. Though Pink Floyd stopped touring after the death of keyboard player Richard Wright, David Gilmour still records and tours, his latest just ended in New York. Check out his live performances, he is still amazing at 78. Drummer Nick Mason has also toured with his band Saucerful of Secrets playing early PF numbers. The bassist at the Pulse concert, Guy Pratt (who was also Richard Wright's son in law) continues to play as a member of both bands. Thanks for a great reaction to great number.
I remember that, by the time 1994 rolled in, there had been a number of huge concert tours by major acts, each outdoing the other in over-the-top stage effects and splashy box office numbers. U2, Rolling Stones, Madonna, INXS, Bruce Springsteen, and many more were awash in record company money and ambition, and live audiences were getting one thrill after another. But when Pink Floyd - Music’s veteran undisputed masters of the psychedelic live experience - finally announced that they were going to mount a major production, taking advantage of all the new technologies and stagecraft that were now at hand, we all knew that something very, VERY special was coming, and it would probably be the last word in the entire phenomenon. And sure enough, as these videos attest, they did it, and did it their way - in an otherworldly, awe-inspiring subliminal work of epic art, made almost entirely of light and perfectly enveloping multi phonic sound. It wasn’t like a concert; it was like staring into the eye of a deity, and the titanic stage even seemed to be staring back, coolly regarding the stunned audiences. You’ll certainly hear from many who were lucky enough to witness one of these supernatural events, describing the eerie quiet of the crowd leaving the arena afterwards, everyone so flabbergasted, mystified and blown away that words have failed them, and only bliss is left to carry them on the drive home. This was as good as it will ever get.
Any song from this concert is worth reacting too. Definitely check out One of These Days from this concert for more of David Gilmour's superb lap steel guitar playing
There's sooooo many incredible songs from this PULSE concert that I'd recommend them all but if you want more to see more of that Lap Steel Guitar (the sitting electric guitar), I'd recommend checking out "One of These Days" and if you want to see something truly breath-taking, I'd recommend checking out "Keep Talking". I'd also recommend Sorrow as just an incredible overall performance from the same concert.
You need to watch "One Of These Days" from Pink Floyd's "Delicate Sound Of Thunder" concert. It features the same instrument you saw him sitting at during the end section of High Hopes.
Glad you chose to do the live version because so many people just take it for granted that David is playing a regular guitar at that ending guitar solo! If you have never seen a pedal steel guitar before people usually react like you did when they see it for the first time!! He plays the same instrument during "Great Gig In the Sky" and "One of These Days" during the same concert.
The kind of guitar David was playing in the solo is called a lap steel guitar. They’re very commonly played in country music. Also, the fly sound is actually deliberate.
If you found Gilmore playing the Steel Lap incredible, also watch „Keep Talking“ from the same concert, where he plays his guitar through his mouth via a talk box!
That guitar solo at the end makes me feel things I didn't even know music could make you feel. If that solo doesn't move you, you're dead inside and I don't trust you😅
But if you want to see the best Guitarsolo ever made you must hear Comfortably numb from the Pulse Concert But never , please never stop s Gilmour Solo. That's a Sacrileg
the inability of this "reacter" to watch a complete video is depressing. The first chorus and the steel guitar even prevented him from falling asleep. And also all his talking only should keep him awake.
I don't agree with you assessment. there was no point where i felt sleepy. I just love feeling the music. again If my style of reacting is not what you like. you know what to do my friend
david was such a pro, he was amazing this night so perfect as you can be live' singing was spot on.
The best concert I had the privilege of attending in my life.
Is same for me
I'm so jealous. Like really f*cking jealous 😅
David Gilmour is playing what is called a 'Lap Steel guitar '.
thank you for that!!
David played the Lapsteel on other Songs too. You must hear The great gig in the sky or One of these days from the same Concert.
Now this is music. Thanks for sharing and exposing your audience to true musicianship
This song is in the highest tier of songs.
100%

Such a beautiful song !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You never knew melody before this moment, same as me when I first heard it. Let it sink in. Listen to it again and again.
Great reaction video…this song was carefully crafted and performed by the band magnificently!! A song that makes grown ups reflect on their lives…✌️🥲
Pink Floyd is always a 10 +++

will do!!!
David is playing a console steel guitar- which is a lap steel guitar mounted on a safety platform. Peace, love and bellbottoms from Canada.
Thank you for the description of the instrument .
Love that slide guitar 🎸
It pierces to your soul.

Where have you been! Keep coming with the Pink Floyd reactions! You will NEVER be disappointed.
Oh…David Gilmour has a wonderfully resonant voice. He doesn’t have loads of range, but he’s absolutely mesmerising.
Pink floyd is emotional Journey

Look the Song "One of These Days - Live Pulse 1994"..David plays the Sittig Guitar very very good... (Sorry my bad english)

If you found Gilmore playing the Steel Lap incredible, also watch „Keep Talking“ from the same concert, where he plays his guitar through his mouth via a talk box!

Não, Não, NUNCA INTERROMPA UM SOLO DE GUITARRA 🎸 AINDA MAIS DE DAVID GILMOUR ISSO É IMPERDOÁVEL 👎
Solo ruined...
