I was 16 when I first heard PF on the underground FM station living with my folks in the SF Bay Area in 1968.. and I looked the same as you. We Floydies just get older but our respect and awe to have been a part of the PF 'LIVE' generation will never leave... Welcome to the best music ever made.

As a 70 year old who has listened to PF from the get go.. I can tell you it's timeless.
And you too may be listening to it when I'm gone.

The PULSE concert has been called arguably the greatest concert performance ever recorded. It’s got my vote. Every single song was a reaction-worthy version.
But in the midst of this legendary concert, the song that brought the house down was “Comfortably Numb”. You really need to react to the PULSE version of this song. The studio version is incredible; the PULSE version is a sonic and visual masterpiece.
And by the way, I had the privilege of seeing this tour with 65,000 friends, and it was even better than it looks. Floyd put speakers around the perimeter of the venue, so sounds came at you out of the darkness from anywhere. Additionally, the lights were very tightly synced to the music, and Gilmour’s guitar work in particular, to the point where I remember having to consciously ignore the lights so I could focus on the music. PULSE was simply a breath-taking show, and you really do need to react to more of it.

David Gilmour is a gift that was given to us that we did not deserve. Man is a legend.

If your parents listened to Pink Floyd in the 70s, you may not have heard this song at all. It comes from the album Division Bell, which was recorded much later - 1994. This concert is from the same year because it's a concert tour for that album. This whole concert is absolutely fantastic. Pink Floyd, for example, played their most famous album, The Dark Side of the Moon, in its entirety. But probably the most famous song from this concert is Comfortably Numb, in which David Gilmour plays one of the best guitar solos in the history of modern music. But virtually everything about this concert is absolutely fantastic. Not only musically (that's understandable) but also visually. The atmosphere is absolutely electrifying!

You should just buy the Blu ray of the Pulse concert. You'll not regret it and more than worth the money.

this is how they started the concert, imagine how they ended. Since then, i.e. since 1994, there has not been a better concert. But I thin this was very true reaction, so thank you

You might not have heard it, because it is of their 1993 Division Bell Album, so a „newer“ Pink Floyd Song!

I miss the old days when music was music not over produce garbage with 20 words repeated 20 times. Listen to Floyd and you don't hear the same words and notes repeated. This song lyrics by Dave , Rick and Dave's wife Polly. Seen this 5 times live and more different concerts . One thing people sit and listen except for their last song " Run Like Hell".

The Adler Planetarium in Chicago performed the entire Dark Side of the Moon album to a spectacular laser light show all summer long last year. So yeah, they still do the Pink Floyd light shows at planetariums around the country. As well as touring Floyd light shows performed in theaters around the country. But nothing beats the real thing. I was at the 'Pulse' "Division Bell" concert in '94 at Soldier Field in Chicago. Every bit as extraordinary as you might imagine. Actually, probably more so.
    Nice reaction 👍

The thing about Pink Floyd, and David’s and Roger’s solo work, it just hits differently. It speaks to all of us on a very human level. I might suggest Robbie Williams. Different style from Pink Floyd for sure but somehow he’s up there for me.

How about some Beth Hart? This woman always pours her heart out and this song she gives a bit of the behind the song intro. If this doesn't bring a tear to your eye I dont know what will.

Nightwish are pretenders. The band is good, but NOTHING beats Pink Floyd. The lead singers voice isn't in the same universe as David Gilmour's. He definitely picked the right one. David Gilmours voice and his guitar shuts down Everyone else. It's like listening to everyone blathering on about Claire Torry. I have one thing to say about it. If she was so good, why wasn't she on this tour? Wright was here, Mason, and Gilmour were all on this tour at their age. Why wasn't she?

How the hell did you manage to find the one upload of this song with the absolute worst audio quality on youtube? This does not sound the way it's supposed to, whoever uploaded this has lowered the pitch and made it sound like it was recorded in an aircraft hangar. Please, in the future pick the 'restored & re-edited' version of Pulse on the official Pink Floyd channel, that way you're guaranteed to get the best audio & video quality.

      @NickBR57 8 місяців тому

@MalRalph As I say, each to his own. I love the PF version of their own song - I've known it since it came out as I've followed PF since the early 70s . I just find (and I'm not alone) that NW have more energy and passion in it and Marco is superb.
If you don't agree that's your right and I have a right to my own opinion.
Choices of taste aren't wrong, they are just differences of taste.

My friend may I politely disagree in my honest opinion I've been a Pink Floyd fan since their inception in 1965 and in my eyes there has never been a band that has even come close to them even covers of their songs the greatest progressive rock band ever in the history of music, just my own personal opinion.😊
