You’ve found it, my friend: the Holy Grail of music. This is the best piece ever (and the uncut version, to boot). And this was about two hours into a concert during which they’d already performed the entirety of The Dark Side of the Moon. Glad you found it.
Thank you for the suggestion bro. Amazing stuff right here!!!
Well, Gilmour would disagree. The reason this uncut version never made it past the original PPV was Gilmour hit some pretty obvious bum notes, so he decided not to release this version.
@@psbarrowI can understand that, but this IS the best version even if David is embarrassed he is human and NOT John Williams or Tommy Emmanuel.
If Jimmy Page blocked all his mistakes there would be NO live Led Zepplin videos at all. lol
@@Rassskle The bum notes are cringe-worthy and ruin the flow of the solo. Gilmour knows it and so do I. Merely putting "is" in capital letters for emphasis doesn't change that.
@@psbarrowIts a question of perspective, sometimes flow happens throughout the imperfect and this is being numb all about, finding a way out is to the light of hope is a Fight with many frustrations whereafter you fall in the comfortably numb state again... So imho there are No cringe moments in the uncut version from the perspective of feel, only maybe from the perspective of musicality as an absolute principle^^
All these 60's and 70's bands were literally sent from the Divine the most awesome music was created for humanity to enjoy and heal! This music could heal the planet!
I've heard these wonderful pieces of art almost every single day when I was a teenager. And it still blows me awaaaay!!! Epic. They're the gods of music.
You don't listen to Pink Floyd's music, you _experience_ it.
Just imagine: Dave Gilmour mostly sits at home playing like this for his grandkids these days. 🤯
He still performs though too.
the entire pulse concert, pick any song any time, is so perfect it is unbelievable...the whole concert is off the charts and one of the best of all time
I agree with you 100%
I am on of the lucky One of Humanity to see this Pulse Concert Alive in Tampa. You should react any songs from the Pulse concert, Sorrow, High Hopes, On of these days, and of course the Best Closing songs of their concert Run Like Hell. Fasten your seat belt Brother, the ride is ON Big Time
That glitter ball opened up to reveal a bright diamond - a direct reference to the band's late founder member Syd Barrett. It also started out a a rose flower that rose between the drummer and the big screen and opened up there and titled toward the audience.
It's ok to cry my brother. That music is so beautiful ... that it makes you cry. Nicely done sir!
goose bumps every time i hear this.
The best guitar solo of Gilmour is always the last one we listened. There are so many best solo of David!
Thank you so much for reacting to this. I was in high school here in North Carolina when this song first came out in 1979. I remember it well. My girlfriend and I at the time loved attending concerts. It was one of the things we loved doing together. My wife loved concerts as well during that time. There were a huge number of wonderful groups at the time and concerts were not very expensive to attend. Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Boston, Journey, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Triumph, 38 Special, Foreigner, and many others. I can not describe to you what a wonderful time it was to be young then. We were happier, relationships were closer, life was more carefree, and the music was spectacular. My heart just aches that young people will not get to experience life as we did as teenagers in the 70’s/80’s. Again, thank you so much for posting this video. It was a wonderful treat.
Yeah. They're something different, aren't they?
Godbless!
P.U.L.S.E. has eventually become
Pink floyd's
Ultimate
Light and
Sound
Experience
Nothing has or ever will top that...Ever!
The joke/saying is “you don’t need drugs to enjoy Pink Floyd. You need Pink Floyd to enjoy the drugs.”
Echoes
Loved your reaction, giddy like a school kid, and the enjoyment only gets better the more you listen to them, I was there and there was an audible gasp from the crowd when the giant glitter ball came out, magnificent concert, never be beaten.
Priceless reaction! Thank you!
Cool. Thanks for sharing.
I was lucky enough to see them perform in Montreal in the 80's and last time 1994 pulse tour, all life changing experience, just WOW
I saw them 12 times in 1994 in the States. 2 in London. 30 years ago yesterday I saw them in San Diego.
Any Live Pulse song is amazing.
Almost 30 years after going to the Dallas Texas concert, I'm so happy to see people still enjoying their music, Loved your reaction as David just played for the fans.
Tip of the iceberg brother
Pure, sublime, epic artistry. 🌒🎸🥰
best Band of all times 😎👍
You caught us, we are a Rock Cult. I've been a member since '74' up at Humboldt State Univ. Saw them live in '94' in Oakland CA at the Coliseum. That 8' disco ball came down and they shot it with lasers. Everything looked like a liquid plasma. Had goosebumps for about 3 hours. Shedmen Meh
Brother in law got us tickets with designated seats about 15 rows from the stage. Each seat had a Black Pink Floyd seat cushion for free. My 8 year old grandson introduced me to UA-cam, where I found reaction videos, where I found this song. 1st thing I did was call my grandson and say "Thanks, I needed that". Shedmen Meh
😂😂😂😂 You right! 🙄😒🤗 We're a Cult! 😉 I was at the NJ Pulse Tour at the Meadowlands (Now Met Life Stadium). I tell you the flying pig 😳 scared the heck out of me but everyone was in awe 🤯 when the giant Disco Ball floated out above the crowd and turned in to Object de' Art right in front of our eyes! Even in the top nose bleed section of the Stadium, it was EPIC! 🥰🐰
good man you did not interrupt at all. You have Found PInk Floyd! congratz
By the time they got to this, they had been playing for over 2 hours, including the FULL performance of The Dark Side Of The Moon - this was the second encore.
Please, please, PLEASE do yourself a favour. Get the dvd of this, find 200 minutes (2 1/2 hours) of free time and a darkened room - and WATCH the whole concert without stopping. And then watch it AGAIN as you will have missed things. You will not regret it.
I was there for three of the shows they performed during their spell at Earl's Court, London.
There was nothing like being at a Pink Floyd concert. I totally lucked out getting to see them at Camp Randall Stadium in the later 80s. I helped someone out when no one else would and out of the blue I got repaid in a BIG way. Two tickets from the person I helped for face value {$25} with seating in row 51 on the field. So remember this everyone! Be nice too people because you never know what your reward will be.
One thing that has always set Pink Floyd apart from most other groups. They do NOT dance, or cavort around the stage. Their persons are NOT the show. It's all about the music and the lights. They barely move at all, but the sound and experience they create are unequaled. I have always insisted that they are, always have been, and always will be, their own musical genre, unmatched by any.
I was born in 1960 and got to see Pink Floyd twice here in Montreal, as well as solo tours by David Gilmour and Roger Waters within a month of each other!! And Waters had along a guest guitarist for that tour by the name of Eric Clapton!! And the ticket prices for shows back then!! I did not pay over $20 for a show!!
I am glad you listened/watched the uncut version, as so many people watch the cut version. And all because David Gilmour heard what he called an 'iffy' note. So to edit it out, he had to cut OVER A MINUTE of that guitar finale!!! I think that most people don't even HEAR an iffy note, and even if a few DO, they still might want to hear the other minute and some that was anything but iffy, because it is still David Gilmour playing one of the best solos ever.
Your feedback on this song is exactly the way I always felt. 200 years from now. People will still be listening to this song and it will still be just as popular and amazing. Keep up the great work, buddy. You’re doing an amazing job!!! I literally just subscribed to your channel because of your feedback. Love the honesty.
I absolutely love watching people having their lives changed by hearing Pink Floyd and you picked a wonderful song to hear from, the greatest guitar solo ever played. I was lucky to see them on this tour and it was just as incredible at it looks. It was one of my best experiences topped only by my marriage. 🙂
Well done you for not chattering through this magnificent performance. Pink Floyds music does take you to another place. Try The Dark Side Of The Moon and Wish You Were Here. Both really do need to be listened to from start to finish, sequencially, in one go with headphones on in a darkened room and a glass of something interesting. Enjoy!!😁🇬🇧
I was there that night!! I know.. how lucky was that, we turned up and.. Cameras everywhere! I was so blown away, I ended up going four times, ticket price went up but boy was it worth every penny 😊❤
Any live PULSE song is amazing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pink Floyd does put you in a trance. And it is an amazing journey that each and every one of their songs takes you on. Please try One Slip by them. It's one of my favorites of theirs and I hope you'd like it as well
I was at that concert in London. A life changing experience and a concert I have never been able to equal. Try sorrow from the same concert. or look up "on the turning away" remastered 2019. 6 years earlier, Gilmour still has most of his hair.
You said on one of your videos, when did this come out the 90's? No bro, 1979. I remember the day.
You deserved a seat at that concert!❤
Top top yaaaa is the best group.... !! Waht a performance
David rips his heart and soul, serves it directly to ours, deeply out of deepness and leaves us rethinking our existence. This is how the music is supposed to speak to us.
Pink Floyd are brilliantly different.
🤗 Glad you got around to this version! 🥰🐰
and that my friend is how you do it. wtf. wonderful.
thnx for your vid! We used to call this 'floor music' ~ because that is how it was best heard ~ splayed out in the dark
☘🤟Pink Floyd are pure masterclass at music and social guidance...greetings from Ireland, so many great albums you have to hear from Pink Floyd..enjoy them all!!
My Mom took me to see Pink Floyd for my first major concert when I was 8 years old (Momentary Lapse of Reason tour 1987). That was a Blessing and a Curse cause I have seen a couple Dozen concerts since then and None have compared to a Pink Floyd show!! A Pink Floyd concert is an experience you won't get anywhere else
What a MOM!!!
Great reaction
Pulse Sorrow next please! Lol.
Great reaction to the best performance.
Great stuff man... Jimmy Page was Gilmour's contemporary, both top of the tree... Page more of a shredder but Gilmour's work so emotional and precise. I know which I prefer. Magical.
Went to six of these shows at the Earls Court run and the solo was slightly different each night; as was the 'jam' at the end of Money. A slightly different show to the first time I saw them in the 60s supporting Jimi Hendrix 😄
This was, without doubt, one of the greatest live concerts of all time. Thanks for your reaction.
I had to listen to that solo atleast 5 times for me to understand that I was listening to the greatest live guitar solo ever preformed by anyone in the history of mankind, you’ve come this far, now you should check out there legendary 23 minute song Echoes and I would prefer the studio album version first, great reaction man 👌
I saw this concert in Pittsburgh.
Best live guitar solo ever.
The whole Pulse concert is epic.
Pink Floyd always was a combination of music and visuals.
Pink Floyd is and will always be my most favorite band.
Echoes (Meddle album) is my most favorite song. There’s also a live version. You should listen to both but I prefer the studio version because the subtleties get lost in the live version.
The album Animals next. Then Meddle.
"Momentary Lapse of Reason" is my favorite album. Good job on letting it play through for a full experience.
To add a little perspective to the mirror ball- those 'petals' were 12 ft tall each.
Thanks for doing the uncut version with some of David mistakes.
Not many can still be amazing after so many years! I don't know how they have done that. Physically I mean. lol Great musical talent all the way, but old bodies and so much effort! Pink Floyd will always be my favorite zone out music and with in your face factual lyrics. Love them!
Been my fav since the 70's
Only got see them once that was in May of 1988 I was 21 yrs old still one the best shows I ever seen in Toronto Canada. David Gilmour puts so much emotion into that guitar in this song he makes it cry you just feel the pain in that solo just like in the studio version.
I too Sept 22 1987 Milwaukee County Stadium Loud Crystal Clear and Amazing !!
This is a favorite Pink Floyd song of mine. I have seen them live, they are unbelievable. Thank you for this.
High Hopes prob his 2nd best solo to Comfortably Numb.
Top bro
Dave Gilmore doesn't plug his guitar into an amp,he plugs it into his soul.
I was there that night one of the best nights of my life , was at the back so could see the show at its best 👌👌👌👌👌❤️
One of there Early albums like Animals 1977 song Dogs
🥰❤
Outstanding.
The Pulse concert Is one of their best!
I do wish I was there but it was in England so I couldn't.
Great reaction bro welcome to the family 😊
Thank you 😊
You might be ready for Sorrow from the same concert Pulse 1994. Maybe lol. The whole concert is magic. No, really, try Sorrow from Pulse. Guitar heaven my friend.
Such a great reaction.
Love it!!!! Same concert, SORROW and LEARNING TO FLY. The whoke concert is ridiculous. David Gilmour's guitar will steal your soul. So many great songs, you have alot of ground to cover...I'm jealous. Keep going!!
Don’t you dare forget Coming Back to Life.
Very good video !
Listen to Echoes next.
Do a full album review of ANIMALS. It's a SONIC MASTERPIECE!
That wasn"t a Solo, it was a Soulo
Fender Stratocaster: $2500
Hiwatt amp: $5000
David Gilmour’s guitar pedals: $500-$1200
Dude’s face seeing the ball open at 9:38: Priceless
The most hilarious part about CN legendary solo is that you are ready to consider it the best ever already after listening that relatively short album version from '79, but then comes tremendous '94 live performance, and then you meet the ultimate, almost unbearable in its generosity, uncut version. )
1st time I hear Gilmour go out of tume, and twice,in the same solo
awesome reaction!!!
You LOVED it!
O_O there is an uncut version? And I learn about that from a random youtuber 30 years later?
Welcome to OMG music. Ya see, we weren't exaggerating.
Looks Like you enjoyed that! Enjoy your Pink Floyd journey.
can the 'cult' be named, "Under-Pink"?
You have just heard what is arguably the greatest guitar solo in the history of rock. David Gilmour does not simply play the guitar. He tells a story with it. His solos don't have notes. They have lyrics.
Pink Floyd dont have fans, they have disciples.
He took you to church didn't he my friend
Welcome to the "cult"... I'm in since 55 years!
This solo that we are hearing is not…um…. It’s different!!
As I've said in the past I've been a fan of there since 1968 attended five of their concerts. So you know I'm ancient. I have nothing against old people but the Pulse concert in my opinion sucks. Even though it has Pink Floyd members it does not represent them in their best form.
Yes they always performed with orchestras prior to this concert. But they did not have musicians covering parts they played. In a concert it wasn't unusual to see them moving around the instruments that surround them.
With regards to this concert after decades of having every note every time signature stuck in my head when I hear something that drags as badly as this concert was so they can keep up. The concert was great for Nostalgia. But after the Nostalgia wears off I'm looking for good clean sound that was created from the members not the extras . You can hear him cracking as he's singing flat and on extended notes he hasn't endurance to sustain the note so as he's losing it an extra finishes. for me that's nothing I want to hear because it conflicts with the memory I had of when they were at their Peak. I sure some suggested this. but I would be questioning their taste.
When we first heard all this music it was in order and without visuals. Yet the music made sense. Likely because it was like a book we followed and enjoyed. The Experience would not have been nearly as intense skipping around without context to what we were hearing.
🤔
See your point...oh, hang on...no I don't.
Your balance is waaaaay off. The highs need to come down my man.
masterpiece,
I saw them, that tour, "PULSE", in my hometown in 1994, in the stadium (50,000 peoples), STRASBURG, FRANCE....😂I will never forget that! Just, magic! And, it's, even better when i see guys like you who see that for the first time😂It's, like if i listen to it for the 1st time again! (I listened that version 1000 times, since i was 14 years old, in 1994😂Now, i'm 43)....And, i worked as a roadie, on a lot of shows in France....I saw great bands, in my life, Santana, Deep Purple, Rolling Stones, AC/DC, etc....I was too young to see my 2 favourites: HENDRIX, AND LED ZEPPELIN😢 But, fortunetely, we can see them on videos😂Peace from France bro ✌️
Video don't do em justice either but we have to live wit it. love form Suriname bro
@@theneverenderreacts True! But, as we are too young, it's a great chance to see them! Of course, being there, it's a total different experience! But, i'm happy to be able to see Jimi Hendrix, or Led Zep, even on some old shit videos....I, didn't knew you were from Suriname....First time i heard about your country was when i was watching football, the national dutch team, the better players were coming from the Suriname....😅Then i tried to understand why France, and Netherlands, had black players, and not the other european teams! It's, because, of the history, the colonies, and everything! A shit history for us, of course! I'm ashamed😥😡But, i'm happy too, because, i love football, and so much great players are coming from your great countries!😅👍I thought you were from USA....😅But, it's better you're from Suriname, i hate USA (the peoples are so bad, arrogant, racists, and violents! it's crazy!).....I will continue to follow your channel....Peace bro✌️
