Melancholy, wistful, sad, regretful, looking back on better times. So beautiful it makes you cry. Fitting that it's the last song on their last real studio album, played on their last tour. The end of the run, but what a run it was! 50+ years and I'm still listening to them all the time, and will for the rest of my life.
Damn, 30 years ago for this concert { 1994} and I am still listening to it today like it was yesterday. 30 friggin years. I can't listen to anything these days for 30 seconds. lol
Millie, you're a lucky girl, you have so much to discover in common from Pink Floyd ... not only the fabulous Pulse Concert ... you can discover the Pompeji Concert from 2016 or the concert from David Gilmour in Poland/Gdansk with Orchestra ... or the concerts in the Royal Albert Hall ... and so much more ... and every concert is different every show is different you have month of material to discover ... stay on your Pink Floyd journey ... we will accompany you until the end ...!!
'94 was a great year for Concerts, I saw this Tour (still have my ticket stub), Clapton, Rolling Stones, Sting (warmed up for the ) Grateful Dead. Great times... Love your Kitty!
This song comes from the Division Bell, an album made after Roger Waters had left the group. Rogers always had written the lyrics for most PF songs. For this album most of the lyrics came from David Gilmour’s wife Polly.
Growing up with this music makes me realize how lucky we were. I'm glad the younger generation is learning to appreciate the music of the 60's and 70's no gimmicks. Just pure Rock and Roll!!!
saw this 5 times. One common thing when it was over many just sat there looking like "What did I just experience". Give some of Dave's solo work. 'Live at Pompeii 2016" "in any Tongue" "5 A.M' > Live at Gdansk 2008 ' 'On an Island" **** "the Blue" Take a Breathe "" Echoes' for the last time *****
I saw them live in the late 80s. It was an open air concert with surround sound. The ground was vibrating on low notes. The visuals together with the music made it an unforgettable experience.
The whole pulse concert is probably still the greatest concert of all time. All excellent musicians, production and engineering- all of it pick any song.
I was 17 when I first heard this particular song. I loved it then because of the music itself. I'm 47 now, I still love it. But now I understand the emotions it evokes, and it takes me right back to being 17, a simpler time. At 17, the slide solo got a stank face. At 47, the slide solo gets tears because it goes straight to the soul and pulls. The grass was most definitely greener.
I love more then anything is seeing the reaction a whole new younger generation experiencing Floyd for the first time. I am 67 and in 1971 14 years old. We lived close to the Canadian border in Northern NY state. Canadian TV was one of the few channels we could get. We had been hearing "Echos" on CHOM FM out of Montreal and I was already becoming a fan. In the TV guide I saw "Pink Floyd Pompeii" coming on channel 2 late in the evening. My brother and I were glued to the TV and we were just mesmerized. From that moment on I was absolutely a Pink Floyd Devoted follower. At 17 years old I would see them live at the Autostade in Montreal for the first time. In 1977 I would be at the infamous "In the Flesh" concert at the Olympic stadium. I would not see the Wall concert as I was in Maine and just had no way to go to any of the tour dates. But in 1987 I would attend "Delicate Sound of Thunder" 2 times at Foxboro Mass. Finally in May of 1994 I would go to see the Pulse concert also at Foxboro with my 11 year old son who was just blown away. It was the next day my son picked up a guitar and never looked back. Almost ironically when David Gilmour auctioned off his guitar collection. My son attended the preview in NYC and took photos of the same candy apple red Strat that David played so many years before. From those photos my son had an exact duplicate made of the 57 reissue including the electronics. The best show? Delicate sound of Thunder which was just a spectacle. The copper vapor lasers shooting this green beam into the night sky so intense that a notice was issued for pilots to expect to see the lights in the area. Welcome to the world of Floyd.
Hi Millie. To paraphrase the Pink Floyd song, I wish you could have been there, too! I was lucky enough to be able to see them on this tour (which was actually called the 'Division Bell Tour' named after the album, PULSE was the name of the live album). I saw them in May 1994 at the old Foxboro Stadium in Massachusetts, so a few months before this concert was filmed at Earl's Court in October of that year. It was a truly amazing experience and one which I will never forget. Great reaction! 🙂
Correct , Pulse is a commercial recording of the Division Bell tour , as is A Delicate Sound of Thunder a commercial recording of the A Momentry Lapse of Reason tour , the tour i saw them on .
Gilmour is a living Legend! The way he can make a guitar sing and cry...he penetrates your soul and hits those emotions. The whole band just transports you to another world. Nothing like Pink Floyd!
Love how you vibe on them. Same with me, saw maybe 1000 concerts, big acts, but those 3 floydian ones were topping them all, ITwws deep dive maybe in your own soul land, so much room to Journey like never experienced with music before the GOAT❤
Yes, one of the best moments in my life was attending this "Pulse" concert at the Pontiac Silverdome in Pontiac/Detroit, Michigan...absolutely epic. Love your reaction.
Nice to hear a young person appreciate the mastery of melody and lyrics that was PF. In 40 years, you will weep when you hear this again. It's only a blink. The mastery becomes overwhelming. Well done in your reaction!
You should give Coming Back to Life a listen. It's off the Division Bell album also. Also performed on the Pulse tour. It's a beautiful and uplifting song.
my all time favourite, enhanced by your reaction millie.believe me the videos dont do pulse credit i was there so believe me a life changing experience geez i miss those days
I love watching young people catching up with what I experienced in my youth. We thought back then that Pink Floyd were something exceptional but I don't think we realised at the time quite how much they would be appreciated by the next generation. It is heartwarming to see.
Went to see this concert (Pulse tour) in Vancouver, Canada, and it was so stunning... the comments about it meaning more later is so true - singing about time slipping away, and longing for the things that have been. It goes so much faster than you think it will, enjoy your life, make the most of it. If I could hop in a time machine and see it live again, I'd jump on that opportunity, absolutely.
That hypnotised happy feeling is the way we were all feeling at the concert, you have seen us when the camera pans across, and because this is song is perfect.
I never saw the original tour, but I was alive and their fan at the time... but I'll just say that The Australian Pink Floyd Show recreates this tour complete with original stage props that was donated by Pink Floyd. These guys even played one of David Gilmour's birthday parties I heard, they're spectacular!
Also remember to check out their earlier work , Like Julia Dream , Pillow of winds , Lucifer sam. .. They really don't have a bad song , Don't just listen to their hits they're the kind of band that thrive on hidden gems. x
Millie, great to see your appreciation for this!! I was fortunate to see Pink Floyd on this Pulse tour at The Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas in 1994. There were 47,000 fans and I had 18th row seats on the floor!! I worked in the concert business for 23 years, and this was an experience of a lifetime!!!
One of these days, Sorrow and Run Like Hell are the MUST from this epic Concert I have blessed to experience in Tampa 30 years ago. You will love them just like all the songs from Pulse. God Bless You for doing this Sister. :)
New here. Don’t know what you’ve done so far but the entire concert is a performance that in my opinion is unmatched to this day. Sorrow. Comfortably Numb. Great Gig in the sky one of these days. Run like hell. As a musician you will be both dumbfounded and amazed that it’s live and it is soooooooo goooood.
I am not a huge fan of lapsteel guitar in country, but when David picks it up and plays it in his very own way, i always love it. The Division Bell album got ok, but for Pink Floyd standards, rather low ratings initially. I think it aged pretty well and over time grew on a lot of people.
So Epic! And imagine this: This was their opening song for the concert! This is the late (David Gilmore influenced) Pink Floyd from the „Division Bell“ Album. If you liked this, check out also „Shine on you crazy diamond“ and „Keep talking“ (Gilmore lets his guitar sing through his mouth by using a talkbox).
I see young musicians react to this kind of music all the time. You say time machine. Some say they were born in the wrong era. I say none off that. Instead, i say study every aspect of this music and go create music just like this. You're young. You could bring this kind of music back and even make it better. Don't long for the past. Look to a future with really great music that your generation can create. Find your passion to create masterpieces like this and many other Pink Floyd songs. Also, other types you all are enjoying. The future of misic is in your hands. You can absolutely do it. Who knows. Maybe with music, you can change the world! Look at what this music has done to you and so many others.
I totally relate to your time machine argument.. Seeing the Pulse on the screen is one of a sick gutpunch, I can’t possibly start to imagine, how would it feel to live it.. ❤
Would just like to say Thank you , from an oldddddd person like me to see the joy on a young persons face watching Pink Floyd gives me hope that their mastery will last.
I just turned 66 yo and have loved the band since 1969! Seen them a few times and always a great Concert. David Gilmore Has been in my top two guys ever in a band! But I can put him 1st also! 🥰
Every time Pink Floyd toured Australia, i had to work. Now i load up my cheap blue ray player with the Pulse DVD and watch Pulse in HD on a large screen while the audio plays through quality floor standing speakers via a cheap amp........almost as good as being their. Add about 20 friends and it is even better.
I love how you're into the track and loving it, and I'm thinking "Wait for the pedal steel solo" :) The Division Bell was the album that got me into Floyd.
Always love your upbeat personality during your reactions Suggestion for your next Pink Floyd - "On the Turning Away" 1988 Delicate Sounds of Thunder tour Stay safe
Yes, everybody of us who were not lucky enough to witness the Pulse Concerts or too young, everyone „wish we were here“ back then on one of those concerts, which were not just concerts, but as you rightly put it an audio-visual experience!
Saw em 4 times starting in 73 here in Tampa. I was 13. No adult supervision. 3 times after in Atlanta. Every show the crowd just stares during the songs and go nuts between. Oh course we were tripping so not surprising. Still... favorite band. Nothing like em and I've seen em all. Second would be the Almond Brothers. Give the Pulse , Wish you were here" video a listen if you want more acoustic lead guitar. Spoiler... Gilmore harmonizes with his guitar. Always amazed no one notices. Almond Brothers ? Go with Statesboro Blues, or Melissa. Whipping post will get your attention too. Fair winds. Capt.Bob, SV ( Sailing Vessel ) 27th Chance, Tampa Fl, USA 🇺🇸
Isn’t it wonderful to see a young person of the current generation saying she wishes she had a Time Machine to go back in order to witness a Pink Floyd concert. Here I am as a 67 year old who has been a fan of theirs from the first time I heard them. As a teenager I was in the merchant navy and I listened to Echoes every night when I went to bed. Later on in my life I did the hippy trail to India where I experienced smoking grass for the first time, I vividly remember listening to the album Wish You Were Here laid down in a park thinking I was on a voyage through space.(by the way boys and girls I do not condone the use of drugs of any kind, I only ever did that whilst in India) My biggest regret is that I had the chance to go see them live at Earl’s Court London but my dear departed wife talked me out of it because money was tight at the time. All I can do now is marvel at the young people hearing Pink Floyd for their first time and appreciating the magnificence of song songwriting and musicianship.😊
❤I'll explain David Gilmour's style. Guitar Magazine back in the mid - late 90s wrote: David Gilmour is The Undisputed Dean Of The Compound Bend and has practically Perfect Note Placement. His solos are not technically difficult Note wise, but to be able to bend and release is difficult to mirror. David Gilmour said, not verbatim as I'll try to explain, that he plays his solos, mainly, as if like an Opera Singer. Play a note and bend it in certain ways and shake it like an Opera Singer. Dave Mustaine of Megadeth said, David Gilmour can take one note and bend it in so many ways where many other guitarists have to use the entire fretboard to do so. Something along those lines. About David Gilmour's mouth movement as he plays is because he is actually singing in his mind and actually moves his mouth muscles as if he were singing it and then relays it to his fingers in order to achieve the sound and or sounds he is wanting to make and or perform. For example, studies have shown that when a person is annunciating a word or words in their mind their trachea and larynx, maybe just larynx, moves as if talking. A great example of David Gilmour singing the notes that he is playing is in the song, (Best Acoustic Song Ever) Wish You Were Here short solos. I was 15 years old when the Pulse Tour was happening and I heard a commercial for it. When I heard the voice of David Gilmour sing, in the advertisement, "Ticking Away The Moments That Make Up A Dull Day...." I thought, WHAT THE HELL? I went out and bought The Dark Side of The Moon Album. I just went straight to the song Time. Then, when I heard that guitar Solo of his in the song Time, I thought.. okay.. time to pick up a guitar and start learning. That Solo is considered a Masterpiece of Composition. Not technically difficult to play, but again... He is and still is The Undisputed Dean Of The Compound Bend with practically Perfect Note Placement. Hence why many people say, "Damn! He can make that Guitar Sing!" All my life, I never understood why the 2nd (last Solo) of Comfortably Numb was never #1 in Best or Greatest Solos of All Time. However, finally a few years ago it became The Greatest or Best Solo of All Time. If you understand Music and Math, that Solo can be played Indefinitely. (If you don't get tired) It goes from B down to E and repeats. David Gilmour in an interview said something along the lines of, "The structure of the music allows me the freedom to just play." 🎸 To end.. David Gilmour admits that he never was a fast playing Guitarist. Does he really need to be? (rhetorically asking) 🎸 ❤🎉 Alice Cooper said something like, "Pink Floyd is Here... While everyone else is over here... " In an interview showing with his hands the separation of... No one is like nor ever will be like Pink Floyd.. 🎉 ❤😊🎉 David Gilmour is my favorite Guitarist and Artist 🎉 Roger Waters said that David Gilmour has a Very Powerful Voice 🎉🎉
This a special song for Floyd fans as its the last studio song they did and the last track on the last studio album and it a look back when they started out in a university town Cambridge and a look back to how it was . Its a emotional song for me
David is still amazing. He will be releasing another solo album at some point in this next year. If he does a show anywhere within 1000 miles/kilometers of you, don’t hesitate. Get a ticket no matter the cost.
This song has more meaning if you’re older like 40+. Now I’m 50+ and the grass was definitely greener . Seeing this tour in 94 was epic .
I'm 51 and I confirm the taste was sweeter too! Saw them in Modena, Italy in september 1994
Yes it was, I seen it in Dallas TX. Amazing all around.
cant help thinkin 80's was the best imo being gen x myself 90's good too, 00's boring but went by faster much faster.
Very much greener, with friends around us
@@ItsJustnotCricket Yes and I miss them friends now 30+ years later. Last time I seen them was at the 94 concert. 😔
Damn, 30 years ago for this concert { 1994} and I am still listening to it today like it was yesterday. 30 friggin years. I can't listen to anything these days for 30 seconds. lol
Yeah. I was 10th row during this tour at 20yo. I still remember every second of that show.
By far the best show I ever saw
Easily one of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard. Mind blowingly good.
Dear Millie, I was 22 when I saw this masterpiece live. Now I am 52 but feelings are the same. Hugs from Italy
Comeback to this song 20 years from now.
It will hit so much differently.
This song is pure nostalgia, in a good way.
The slide guitar section always gets me. The whole of Division Bell is a work of art.
Now we have Dead & Company.....only just recently got into them....
I was lucky enough to see them in '87 and '94. Nothing compares....
Saw them in 94 and to this day, it was the best concert I've ever been to
Pulse is a great show. Every song is great and played to perfection
Saw them on this tour in Vancouver, BC. It was one of the most beautiful moments of my life.
This song comes from the Division Bell, an album made after Roger Waters had left the group.
Rogers always had written the lyrics for most PF songs. For this album most of the lyrics came from David Gilmour’s wife Polly.
Great reaction. One of my favorite songs. David Gilmour is a guitar master.
Dude! Kirk Kobain is the only Real Master Guitarist 😮
Just listen to his almost 4 note Solo on Come As You Are 🎉🎉🎉
Severely Joking 😃
It’s fantastically beautiful !
I was at the opening night of this tour in Miami, hard to believe it has been 30 years, what a show.
Growing up with this music makes me realize how lucky we were. I'm glad the younger generation is learning to appreciate the music of the 60's and 70's no gimmicks. Just pure Rock and Roll!!!

I could have written this. I'm 47 too. The feeling of pain for lost times is real.
Best concert I've been to. The computer screen in no way does that stage justice.
You obviously haven't gone to an Eminem concert 😂😂😂😂😂
Severely joking 😃
Amazing! Definitely one of my favorites from the concert.
Los mejores

Remember the pulse cd cover with the flashing red led.
The version, "Live in Gdansk" has an additional acoustic solo after the slide guitar solo. Beautiful!

the GOAT❤
When I first heard this one I realised it was the end of Pink Floyd for it was the making of final lines.
check out live at Gdansk, David ends this song with with a guitar
Really fortunate to see this great band in 1994. It was an experience which words can’t describe 🙏🙏
I was there at Earls court in London for both nights of the Pulse tour. It changes you, effects you on so many levels. Pure genius
The endless river last album, the lyrics amazing. The steel guitar brings out emotions. Thank You...
One of the most beautiful and layered and haunting slide guitar solos ever... Gilmour has outdone himself.
I worked for them on this tour 1994
Division Bell
600 technicians to build the stage 55 trucks on the road, i was 22 years old
I was there 😂😂
Some of us have been lucky enough to hear them live in Barcelona many years ago...
Yes, one of the best moments in my life was attending this "Pulse" concert at the Pontiac Silverdome in Pontiac/Detroit, Michigan...absolutely epic. Love your reaction.
I saw this show in Chicago. Truthfully it was the 77 Animals tour in Cleveland that changed my soul.
I was there and I get goose bumps watching all the reactions, bye the way glad you paid attention to the moggy😀
I was there. Saw this show live in Lisbon, Portugal
Nice to hear a young person appreciate the mastery of melody and lyrics that was PF. In 40 years, you will weep when you hear this again. It's only a blink. The mastery becomes overwhelming.

It's not an acoustic guitar, but an Spanish guitar. Great reaction.
Millie, I was 13 when I heard live a Pompei and saw all concerts in my country. You are young and make this music. Then a new star is born
hi millie, now you got to react to the cover of "high hopes" from nightwish sung by marco. so epic.
Pink Floyds music has always had the ability to transport me to different times and places, just beautiful
That hypnotised happy feeling is the way we were all feeling at the concert, you have seen us when the camera pans across, and because this is song is perfect.

Even after all there's years it's impossible to describe the connection they made with people. Pink Floyd was simply magic.
From the very beginning pink floyd is entrancing.
No one can play a guitar like David.

Beautiful song, Gorgeous Millie
We all need a time machine to be there.... cool reaction Millie.
This concert is a gem and this song touch me very deep.

The Division Bell album got ok, but for Pink Floyd standards, rather low ratings initially. I think it aged pretty well and over time grew on a lot of people.
Eargasm... Pure eargasm.
David Gilmour tickets went on sale for his UK shows yesterday. ❤
Yes, and also sold out “yesterday” 😭
@@MGForums, I was fortunate enough to get a ticket to the 2nd night of his Hollywood Bowl shows. I’m absolutely gobsmacked. 😶
On the turning away live,, best song pink floyd live, ❤❤❤❤
An absolute master of music.

❤ You'd like ( On the turning away - Live at the delicate sound of thunder concert ) The solo in that is so emotional.
Your reaction to Marko singing this was really epic actually! 🤘
I just turned 66 yo and have loved the band since 1969! Seen them a few times and always a great Concert. David Gilmore Has been in my top two guys ever in a band! But I can put him 1st also! 🥰

Ma dopo tutto al termine HIGH HOPES esplode con il suono della lap steel guitar magistralmente suonata da Dave e lancia nel cielo la speranza .
I love how you're into the track and loving it, and I'm thinking "Wait for the pedal steel solo" :) The Division Bell was the album that got me into Floyd.
hace 30 años que lo escucho
Always love your upbeat personality during your reactions
Suggestion for your next Pink Floyd - "On the Turning Away" 1988 Delicate Sounds of Thunder tour
Stay safe
Yes, everybody of us who were not lucky enough to witness the Pulse Concerts or too young, everyone „wish we were here“ back then on one of those concerts, which were not just concerts, but as you rightly put it an audio-visual experience!

Love to see someone reaction to Floyds 1990 Berlin concert. Excellent stage performance
Miss Millie, if you haven't watched Pink Floyd's entire Pulse concert, you need to get on that pronto!
I think describing how David G makes you feel is hard to do. He takes you through so many emotions in each solo it’s impossible
That lap steel is so hauntingly beautiful in David's hands!
Love your reaction and your lovely smile Millie❤
❤I'll explain David Gilmour's style.
Guitar Magazine back in the mid - late 90s wrote:
David Gilmour is The Undisputed Dean Of The Compound Bend and has practically Perfect Note Placement.
When I heard the voice of David Gilmour sing, in the advertisement, "Ticking Away The Moments That Make Up A Dull Day...."
I thought, WHAT THE HELL?
I went out and bought The Dark Side of The Moon Album. I just went straight to the song Time.
Then, when I heard that guitar Solo of his in the song Time, I thought.. okay.. time to pick up a guitar and start learning.
That Solo is considered a Masterpiece of Composition. Not technically difficult to play, but again... He is and still is The Undisputed Dean Of The Compound Bend with practically Perfect Note Placement.
Hence why many people say, "Damn! He can make that Guitar Sing!"
All my life, I never understood why the 2nd (last Solo) of Comfortably Numb was never #1 in Best or Greatest Solos of All Time.
However, finally a few years ago it became The Greatest or Best Solo of All Time.
If you understand Music and Math, that Solo can be played Indefinitely. (If you don't get tired)
It goes from B down to E and repeats.
David Gilmour in an interview said something along the lines of, "The structure of the music allows me the freedom to just play."
🎸
To end.. David Gilmour admits that he never was a fast playing Guitarist.
Does he really need to be? (rhetorically asking) 🎸 ❤🎉
Alice Cooper said something like,
"Pink Floyd is Here... While everyone else is over here... " In an interview showing with his hands the separation of... No one is like nor ever will be like Pink Floyd.. 🎉
❤😊🎉 David Gilmour is my favorite Guitarist and Artist 🎉
Roger Waters said that David Gilmour has a Very Powerful Voice 🎉🎉
Toda conexão espiritual entre tudo!!! Está nessa músic, é algo além.
This a special song for Floyd fans as its the last studio song they did and the last track on the last studio album and it a look back when they started out in a university town Cambridge and a look back to how it was . Its a emotional song for me
Pulse was not the concerts name. It was the "The Division Bell Tour" and gawd it was amazing! 😋
Other great songs from Pulse are Learning to fly, Sorrow and Keep Talking. Mind blowing. Awe hell..every song was great from that concert.
David is still amazing. He will be releasing another solo album at some point in this next year. If he does a show anywhere within 1000 miles/kilometers of you, don’t hesitate. Get a ticket no matter the cost.
Great reaction, love from the Pennsylvania mountains, USA.
