- This is only my second review of a Watchdives watch. The difference here is astonishing!
The Watchdives WD1967 Sharkmaster 300 is ahuge step up from the previous watch I reviewed a few weeks back (the WD1969) and it was a very decent budget piece.
The WD1967 takes it up a notch ever so slightly.
Watchdives are relatively new and started doing collaborations with San Martin on AliExpress to good effect. They have obviously learned some new tricks.

Looks like they listened to you with the V2 of this watch. Much flatter crystal and backed off on the anti-reflective coating. Now has a mineral crystal encapsulating the lume, now non-drilled spring bar holes, and the bezel knurling is squared off and has a recess for really positive grip. The new bezel sounds the same as yours. I think a gorgeous watch.
They call it a Sharkmaster but it's a pretty close homage to a 1967 Omega Seamaster supplied to British military. They way they've integrated the date window at 6 o'clock is quite unobtrusive. As I don't find it particularly important but at the same time I would like to avoid a useless ghost position I would pick that exact version because it maintans the symmetrical look. You get a decent sapphire crystal and a quick adjust clasp for not a lot of money. I like it!
Homaging closely the Helson Sharkmaster, but yeah they are all copying Omega's design.

That's nicely done. Considering the much more expensive Helson is sold out on their website and a vintage Omega would cost a great deal with probably a service and refurb required the price is great. I love this look but I'll wait and see. Like you I reckon they could sharpen this one up to be a real winner for anyone looking for that Omega sword hand diver lookalike.

They passed up an opportunity to stack lume in those big trapezoidal markers!
Maybe version 2 is worth the wait.

I'm having a really hard time not pulling the trigger on this and saying im content with the white Proxima. I usually hate busier dials like this but the whole black and white tool aesthetic really looks good. Date, 38mm and i enjoy thicker cases. Absolutely stunning watch.

I have Omega Seamaster, my dad used to have original Seamaster also from 1968...and those were one of the best looking Omegas ever made. absolutely don't care about that crystal and actually I like it, I like that distortion. To have quality like that with all of the features it has at this price point is absolutely insane... I'll buy two of those. I only dislike that logo but they took care of that also... Fantastic
I hate that they have to plaster that horrible Toy Company esque logo on the crown and clasp aswell… I dont get why so many if these brands do this..

Great review John! I wish you had reviewed the blue as that's the one I have my eye on! But black watches are ALWAYS sharp and this one is gorgeous.
In this case you are probably right but black is always my preference. I will have to get more colour options in this year 😊

Great value for money here with an appearance that out-punches it's cost. For me there are too many indicator lines on the indices and bezel...a simpler bezel with numbers-only would be nicer, in my opinion. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the extended wrist time you gave us in different lighting and angles...so important - nice work! Also not a fan of the 'bubble-style' crystal here, but I understand why they went with it. Overall, it's a nice package...and every watch made going forward should have an adjustable clasp similar to this one - it's a winner!
This watch reminds me of a Certina DS which in turn will reminds someone else a some other watch. Citing the Great Book "there is nothing new under the sun".

I agree with you, this strong blue AR coating and the curvature of the domed saphirre are a deal breaker for me. Waiting for V2

Nice looks, and good finishing, but 13.8 mm is thick, and the bezel interferes with the crown. Close but no cigar.
The only thing keeping me from pulling the trigger immediately is the case size everything else I love I'll still more than likely go for it just the same Another fantastic review my friend Be well and take care of that back my friend 👍

I bought the Hruodland SM300, also from the watchdives store. It's truer to the Omega at 42mm. It looks closer to the real one too imo.

This is a pretty good homage but I can't escape the feeling something is off. Maybe the chamfers on the lugs aren't quite "twisted" right? I think that's it. Size and everything looks great, 6 o'clock date is fine. The blue AR is ok but I'd prefer clear AR. For the money its a fair deal but the lume needs an upgrade and I'll wait for a version 2.

Great review mate. I really like this one. However, I do agree with your observations except for the logo which does not bother me, in fact I kind of grown to like - just like SM's. A V2 even at a little more money will be a true winner. This one as is, is still a solid piece for the money though. Keeping my eye on this one.... thank you John.

I have the same issue with this watch as I do have with most of those trying to mimic a vintage military dive watch: it's all way too glossy for me.
If they ditch the ceramic bezel for an aluminium one, a shielded lume pip is more than enough, and give that watch a nicely domed acrylic crystal, replace the logo with a simple font and maybe scrape off 1mm from the case back to get it a wee bit thinner ... wouldn't that be nice? Just saying ... ;-)
I was thinking of picking up the Blue version as that would mitigate the blue AR coating, but I assumed the bezel was sapphire and you're saying it's Hardlex/mineral? Did WatchDives confirm that for you? On the website it just says "glass" so I assumed it was the same as the crystal (sapphire).
I did ask but they are on holiday so no answer back.
Wish more companies offered the no date option.

I love this watch but the blue ar I have to admit does annoy me. Sometimes it washes it out and I hate it. Funny thing is when I go to show someone the washing out I cant find it.Its only in certain lighting and angles.Great watch tho.The Black and white colouring is gorgeous. And I loooove the heavy distortion on it (no date).
Nice watch. My only gripe is the hour hand. I don't know what it is, but it just kinda bugs me.
Looks nice! But I'm not a fan of the strong blue AR coating. That's the one thing I dislike about my Proxima.

What exactly is watchdives? If I recall they are a retailer who often do collaborations with other manufacturers? Have they now transformed into producing watches on their own? The logo also reminds me of the Tag Heurer logo.
This watch gives me definite Helm vibes - minus the lum.

Capisco che 38,8 possa indossarlo chiunque ma, questo orologio a 41mm sarebbe perfetto. Lancetta ora perfetta ma, a quella dei minuti manca 1,5 mm in lunghezza e 0,5 in larghezza.

Nice one!!! If they put a flat crystal on it to reduce the thickness and distortions, reduced the width of the hour hand by just a bit and increased the width of the minute hand by just a bit... It'd be pretty damn perfect. Hope they do these changes.
Way too big logo. Overpowers the dial...
I like the watch but the 37.7 case size makes it too small for the average wrist size. Even making the bezel in 38.6 doesn’t help much. If the watch was on 40/41mm it would be perfect. Also the AR should be clear and not blue. The sapphire crystal double dome already makes distortion and mixed with blue AR coating make it impossible to see the dial on certain angles. The Helm made the perfect one. The Hruoland brand just launched one but with very odd colors, no sapphire crystal and no stainless steel bracelet. This could be the best one but not that small.

There is a bigger 40/41mm from Hroudland comming up.
My thoughts are it is a pretty good size for most wrists, personaly I can wear anything from 33mm up to 45mm.
It's a perception issue I think and we all have different thoughts and opinions.
