I followed your 10 day detox for 30 days 10 years ago. After 12 days my mother said my face looked completely different, my rings on my fingers slipped off, my pain in my injured swelling knee disappeared I had to stop taking blood pressure meds after a few more days because it had dropped so much I was dizzy! Its amazing what inflammation reduction does for you!!
@@robertaaugustini4091 my R knee is also acting up. I injured it a little and it's wayyy too painful for what I did. I'm using it as inspiration to do this detox again. It's less than 48 hours and a bunch of other little aches are gone, my skin is softer, and my mental outlook more positive. I gave up coffee too because for me it reaks all kinds of havoc for me & disrupts my energy. ✨️🧡🙏🏾✨️
Dr Mark I stopped eating all sugar and processed food. My joint pain has pretty well left my body. I walk my dog and my friends dog every day. At 65 I thought I better start taking charge of my life
Today I was walking at our local marina . I started talking to this fellow who had a dog smaller then mine. He was my age could barely walk had a bad back. I shared how I gave up sugar and carbs. The first thing out of his mouth was I can’t give up my European deserts. Holy cow that guy was in bad shape. I hope he has a safe trip back to Victoria with his boat. It’s amazing how we don’t care for ourselves.

I did the eleimination for the 21+ days and I have literally reset my gut. I’m 53 and have taken daily prescribed heartburn meds (Omeprazole) since I was 25. I stop consuming alcohol completely and then finally did the “reset”. I can truly say I will NEVER go back to alcohol, processed foods and all sugar/sweeteners. I am for the first time in over 25 years feeling healthy again and take zero medications. Did I forget to mention that I’ve had severe lower back pain for the last 7 years? The inflammation and pain is more than 50% reduced! This not a “diet” in my opinion, it’s a life changing eye opening reset! Thanks Dr. Hyman!
@@elizabethcason yes I did. I wish I knew years ago that all it takes is a little bit of dedication for three weeks to a month of staying on a metabolic reset or as people call it, carnivore diet. Once you do the reset your body almost goes back to completely normal. If you start going back to your old normal ways of eating processed foods and sugars, all your ailments will start over and come back again.
In 5 days on Carnivore I felt this fantastic calmness; in 2 weeks my blood pressure went from 148/95 down to 100/65. Amazing! In 5 months my weight went from 190 down to 145. It's really amazing! It's all about what you put in your mouth - not the medications you're taking.
I’m working with a functional doctor to treat leaky gut…I went to her bc I was having severe panic attacks. I knew it was something else going on bc there’s nothing in my life that would make me like that. I’m starting my 3rd week and I feel so much better. I’m so thankful I didn’t go main stream route to treat anxiety bc I’d be on all kinds of addictive meds and still not paying attention to the gut.
Thank you for all this great encouragement. I’m so glad I found your channel. In 2020, my eyes were opened because of all the fear & jab propaganda. I knew I needed to focus on my health and change my eating habits, start ridding my body and environment of toxins. It’s been a huge learning curve! I’m in my 60s and the healthiest I’ve been in years. I thank God For opening my eyes, my heart and my mind to search for truth and wisdom and how to make healthy choices for my body, soul and spirit. God is good!
absolutely, wheat gluten has been modified tremendously through changing the genetic profile of wheat. 100 years ago no one had celiac disease, it's the toxic GMO gluten that is causing crazy inflammation in the body. When I moved to the US, I gained 10 lbs instantly, and couldn't get rid of it even with rigorous exercise until I dropped gluten completely.
I just did 11 days no Sugar mid July this year. First i cut off all soda, juices, drinks etc, then i cut all my sugary snacks off, and half the sugar amount in my coffee/tea. I also avoided all junk from outside, ate at home. I was shocked, July 14 i was 223lbs and on July 23 i was 207.5lbs. I also started doing 30 min exercise in my garage, motivated by the weight loss and feeling good. Just in those days i was feeling way better, looked slim muscular, had more energy all day and i didnt let my wife sleep for 2 nights. Sugar is poison, im 31 havent been in shape since 25yrs i was jacked. I would say in the last 4 years this was the best i had felt those first 2 weeks. The healthy habits just keep compounding.
Following this detox program eliminated my heart burn and upset stomach. I was eating anti acids every single day. I haven’t had one since. And I feel so much better. Thank you Dr Mark!
🎤 DR MARK ……I AM SO HAPPY YOU DECIDED TO DO A PUBLIC SERVICE SUCH THIS ONE !!!! FOREVER GRATEFUL ! Will send this link to all people I know ….trying to spread the good YOU ARE DOING .🙂 THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH !
My friend introduced me to the words ANTI INFLAMMATORY about the first food mentioned as oatmeal. At the time, he said, he understands why I don't like it as it has that help. Not that I didn't like it. I had a bad experience after eating it a long time ago. It was around the time of eating something terribly sweet. I felt sick from eating the sweet food for breakfast first. Later I ate the oatmeal first and had a much better result. I whole heartedly stand by foods that have or are ANTI INFLAMMATORY. And thrilled to realize what illnesses are INFLAMMATIONS.
The 10 day detox diet is amazing. I highly recommend that everyone try it. It becomes a lifestyle and not a diet. I think it's the only diet that actually works for healing and weight loss.
I’m allergic to nuts and I get very nauseated from grass fed beef. So frustrating. I’m going to try this again with the foods my tolerates. Thanks again for your commitment to wellness
Might I suggest going through the detox, then eat organic chicken. As I have gotten older, I am finding I can not eat alot of red meat. You may have a slight nut allergy, or it may be the oil they use to roast them. There are nuts that are dry roasted, maybe try those. Good luck and God bless!
Me too! Went from size 10 to size 2 in less than two months vegan so no more high cholesterol and blood pressure and no more severe digestive tract issues. Vegan 2009.
I am not consuming any sugar No empty carbs Well balanced diet Yet I suffer from chronic insomnia for the last 6 years and live on sleeping pills and antidepressant. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia few years ago and every here and there my different body part got caught by inflammation I have bed. Lately I started suffering from a very bad case of a plantar fasciitis snd hip and shoulder pain and it was addressed to my fibromyalgia. All these videos give a little hope to me.
Nonsense. Whole plant food is the long-term diet for humans. No need to kill an animal or steel baby growth fluid to be healthy. It's just the opposite. Check out Drs Greger, Davis, Ornish, Bernard, Esselstyne , Williams, Macdougall, etc, etc, all reverse chronic illness with a treatment plan based on whole plant food. He's a nice guy and means well but he's wrong about animal food no matter how high quality it may be.@@bishashleigh6408
Insomnia could be caused by antidepressants. Cut out processed wheat (gluten), sugar, cows dairy (goat and sheep may be tolerated) and you may also feel better.
Quitting refined and fake sugars, wheat, and sulfites was the best thing I ever did for my gut and overall health. Also haven't had alcohol in a very long time (stopped due to medical conditions and medications, but don't miss it anyways. Made me feel icky.) Weight loss was so much more attainable without the constant gut inflammation. Even my prescription enzymes dosage is down. I also taste things better than I have in years. For example, ripe bananas are actually super sweet. Didn't seem like it when I was consuming refined sugars. UPFs are horrid and make me FLC. Love that acronym by the way! I'd rather be hungry for a few hours than feel crappy from the "convenience" of UPFs. I keep a mini pantry of convenient grab-and-go good foods like nuts, fruit/veggies, unsweetened greek yogurt, and bottled/canned water at work so I'm not without a decent choice if I'm occasionally stuck without a real meal break. That also keeps an emergency stash on hand for my students. Food insecurity is real and offering poor food choices doesn't help my students stay healthy.
He's pretty much given it to you - give up all sugar, gluten, most dairy. That means anything with sugar, including sweets, candies, sugary drinks, cakes, cookies, potato chips. Give up bread, processed foods, cows milk/cheese. Eat fresh vegetables, fish like sardine, herring, salmon, berry fruits, pasture raised meat, no processed meats like salami or bologna. No caffeine or alcohol. Stay hydrated with plenty of water.
I love the big smile. You are obviously happy to be helping people. Lovely. Edit: Very discouraging that I can’t afford all the good quality foods. I can only eliminate the worst of the foods.
@@astrialindah2773 I don’t buy junk food! I don’t buy fast food. I don’t eat in restaurants. My diet has less than 20 total grams of carbohydrate per day.But I can’t afford organic pasture raised eggs, organic grass fed grass finished prime ribeye steaks, Irish butter, wild caught salmon etc. etc., the kind of quality that these men are talking about.
I love bread, but I’m intolerant of the fructans in wheat. However, I’ve been making my own bread with organic spelt flour and I’m absolutely fine. Next experiment is to try and make sourdough, but I think I’ll need a rye starter.
Can you do a video on eating healthier when you don't have a regular grocery store in your town and have a tight budget. Food delivery is kinda costly. We only have a Dollar General.
I loved your approach and plan on looking for your book on the elimination diet. However, I’m always a little skeptical when I get on your website and your selling supplements, and special info for additional cost.
Put it this way. Regular docs are receiving income from insurance companies, vaccinations, drug reps, unneeded procedures, etc. Functional medical doctors (many not all) miss out on a lot of that revenue because their focus is on their patients’ health. But they too have high overhead and insurance and need to earn a living as well. They sacrificed many years of earning in order to invest time in their education. He’s selling what he believes is good for people, rather than pushing big pharma poison and turning a blind eye.
@@vallang4832While that’s true, it just shows you how little effort most doctors make. Most don’t read studies, they don’t go out of their way to read published literature etc. Their sources of information are: 1) What they learned in med school 2) Guidance from the WHO and CDC and 3) whatever the beautiful 22 year old marketing ladies from pharma tell them when they drop by their office.
Let’s give credit where credit is due. Dr. Albert Rowe developed the elimination diet in the 1920s and wrote a book about using the elimination diet to deal with allergies in 1941.
CLUE: Adding some silent pauses here and there _(between sentences)_ throughout these videos would be helpful to better take in ALL that is being discussed.
When Dr Hyman says too much too fast I just pause the video and sometimes go do something else and then come back to it. I am getting older and can't always process information like I used to.
@@pattythrasher6663 It has nothing to do with age. Dr. Hyman's videos are not naturally spoken. They are edited _(chopped)_ without any natural pause between sections...very abrupt and very unnatural to listen to. There's no doubt, Dr. H. has some very good knowledge to share, but his video production team is editing his videos too abruptly to take in all that is in his messages. Plus, it's just not natural to have to keep pausing a discussion, especially so when the alternative is that his video production team could include a couple second pauses between topics. What would an extra collective total of 30-60 seconds added here and there, throughout, matter to his presentation?? _((WHAT IS THE ALMIGHTY RUSH??)_

I think there can be individual reactions to an extent. I can't eat peppers, for example. I eliminated all nightshades for a year (also potatoes and tomatoes). I reintroduced those, but peppers are still a no go.
I am suffering from psoriasis for 15 years. Although I stopped taking sugar and dairy, my condition didn't improve. I do strength training, take D3, K2, NMN, probiotics, zinc, and magnesium.
I was just diagnosed with that as well. I stopped sugar, most dairy other than occasional heavy whipping cream in my coffee and no processed foods which I hardly ate anyway, but cutting out all flour and carbs, white potatoes, bread,, rice etc. stopped my joint pain and totally reduced the inflammation. Are you taking high doses of vitamin D? I take any where from 10,000 iu to 50,000 per day and that has amazing results for me. Check out Dr. Berg and vitamin D. Best wishes.

20:20 instead of avoiding bananas, mangoes and pineapples altogether, why not have them when they're not fully ripe. They make excellent salads when combined with limes, garlic, culantro, black pepper and a dash of salt (optional). Not to mention all the nutritive benefits you get from them. In my country, this salad is called _chow_ and we don't need fully ripened fruit to make it. Edit: we don't make chow with bananas but they don't have to be eaten at their ripest/sweetest either.
Doc, I stopped eating sugar and all processed foods over 7 years ago. Then I did that deadly carnivore diet for 5 years and developed leaky gut from 5 years of ZERO FIBER. My gut is healed but I still have adrenal fatigue and chronic inflammation and it’s been almost 2 years since I stopped being carnivore. @@bmitch8302 Hi, I’ve done several parasite cleanses. I also eat raw garlic regularly. Unfortunately, those do nothing for adrenal fatigue. T1D here. Not one single doctor, diabetic nurse, nutritionist or dietitian I've had in the last 20 years never talks about this. It's utterly depressing and lonely.
You can do it! There is a worldwide community eating the anti-inflammatory way. When you cut out sugar and processed carbs be aware your need for medications will decrease!
Thanks everyone. I have reduced insulin by eating keto, and I feel great for it. I just wish my GP, specialists and nutritionists would support it. The community is great though ❤️

I can't blame the alfalfa sprouts, or the raw tuna though. I just wish I can tolerate food better, I don't do any refined anything, aside a week of trying one matcha mochi for desert. Beans should be soaked at least overnight, 24-hours is even better, which allows them to start sprouting which greatly reduces the indigestibility of beans. Next, beans should be pressure cooked which again aids digestibility. Then refrigerating them turns them into resistant starch and makes them even healthier. You don't have to rinse the beans after cooking with these procedures.
I am transitioning from gluten free to 99% grain free clean baking. So I have a question about xanthan gum, which you list as an emulsifier. Very small amounts are often included in gluten/grain free recipes to replace wheat gluten. Is this really harmful to the gut? A serving might have a tiny pinch. Another emulsifier that I've used is organic sunflower lecithin, as a supplemental source of important phospholipids like phosphatadyl choline. Is this also not advised?

I was listening to your podcast driving home from NY to the Cape and as you are talking about inflammation and over growth I could not help but notice how the vines along all the highways (actually everywhere) have taken over the trees and it seemed to me to be exactly what is going on in our bodies. Overgrowth and I am sure those vines are robbing the nutrients from the soil and I am sure the trees and plants that are being suffocated will never be able to recover . Pollution related. The more pollution the more vines.
This was too overwhelming for my ADHD brain. I need help with the planning of what to eat. And I'm poor so I feel like this isn't doable with my situation. Any suggestions? Do you have a video on that? For free?
Giving up dairy and bread is a big ask. I avoid any bread that is made with seed oils. I don't drink milk but I love a strong cheddar, Feta and Pecorino.... and I have a weakness for ice cream.
All of that caused chronic severe digestive issues for me, had to be 100 💯 vegan even a bite of dairy egg creates tingling twitch within about ten minutes generally. Plus I gained total of 80 pounds just adding dairy and egg to vegan diet.
Some organic, pastured dairy as well as some organic, glyphosate free grain works for me. I do eat mainly plants. Think an elimination diet is good as a body reset.
This advice frustrates me so much. My problem is keeping enough weight on (I fully understand most people don’t see this as a problem). I have cut out most processed food and lost 10 pounds which I could not afford to lose and now I can’t gain it back. I eat full fat grass fed dairy products- cheese, butter, yogurt and loads of nuts and avacado, etc and it makes no difference. Dairy is not an issue for me. If I cut those out I would surely drop to under 100 pounds. Also according to the internet most commercially raised sheep and goats are fed diets with corn and grain. How is this better than cow feed and why would there milk be better?
Every time I go on a fast, inflammation in the body goes down. I eat very clean, nothing processed - no sugar-gluten-seed oils-etc, organic produce, yet inflammation comes back. Haven't cracked that one.
When I eat right, I am healthy, then my wife buys crap at the grocery store and I EAT IT because it taste sooooo good. It's a shame I can't get us both on the same page. Eating healthy starts at the farmers market. If you don't buy it, you can't eat it.
I have weak adrenals from years of stress, lack of sleep. My natural nurse practitioner is trying to figure out how to help my adrenals heal. I have high cortisol at nighttime and low cortisol during the day. So a high fiber diet makes my inflammation skyrocket and cause me to retain fluids. I've been on a mostly smoothie diet for over a year especially since I had my denture surgery in May of 2023
I have been dealing with crashed adrenals for a while. I’ve never heard of fiber having anything to do with it, nor so to inflammation. Are your smoothies made of better ingredients than your regular food? Also- I’ve taken Seriphos at night when my night cortisol is high and keeping my awake. It sometimes takes 3 nights of taking it to really fall asleep quickly.
I have a toddler grand daughter that goes days and days without pooping. I feel so bad for her. Her parents are vegetarians and she gets no protein other than yoguart , cheeses. The pediatrician put the baby on Metamucil and I am horrified. She has very hard and painful movements and actually goes2-4 days without going. I follow you and have done the detox several times now. I was wondering if I could get my daughter to do gluten and dairy free what would she feed the baby (you know that babies want what they want). I am trying to figure out a way to detox her and when she comes to visit me for two weeks in august. Thank you for all you do and all you teach. Denise
Hum. Would love to try this but I can't eat eggs, dairy, tree nuts or oats. To go gluten free would take away my regular whole wheat cereal. Does this mean I need to eat something similar like a lunch for breakfast? Something like chicken and fruit for breakfast instead of my whole wheat cereal?
You’re describing all my symptoms , aching joints , pins and needles , fatigue , migraines , bloating etc … butttt I’m vegan (whole foods ) and gluten free .. something I eat regularly.. peanut butter , home made 100% peanuts unsalted - could this be the culprit??
I am able to eliminate Sugar and Gluten from my diet, but find it difficult to go without Dairy. I need a splash of milk in my coffee, and love eating unsweetened Greek Yogurt. Is Organic cows milk and Organic Yogurt OK,? or are they inflammatory .?
All this video and I want a GUIDE to do this. You say there is a free plan attached. Please show me. I spent 30 min Oozing through all your notes and even your website. Nothing about this specific reset plan.
It is overwhelming however it is easy to just do one change at a time. Think about what you want to eliminate; (such as: dairy, gluten, canola oil (seed oils), high fructose corn syrup, sugar, etc.) - Live with the one change for as long as it takes to where you feel comfortable eliminating something else. small steps over time really create a true life style change. After all these years of small steps for me I am still constantly reading labels at the store ( as I dont want fake dyes, sucralose or bad oils in my food). You can do it!! Even if you try and fail, then try again and again until it becomes a habit. You will get there. Good luck.
I agree things can get crazy and expensive if you go too hard. I have bought organic milk and eggs for ages, but not grass fed beef/dairy! Not wild caught salmon. Not wild game like he says here lol. Not wild blueberries! It's expensive to cut out all cow dairy, wheat, grains. What I'm doing is lots more veggies, no added sugars, bringing in turmeric/black pepper supplements and in food, using whole grains, less beef, more salmon, chicken, beans. I can't eat the peppers and eggplant he recommends -- those nightshades give me immediate joint pain. Moderation is key. Good luck to all of us.

I remember the stages of transition away from processed food, and no longer visiting certain aisle in the market (mot of my food comes from farmers markets anyway) I can imagine how overwhelming this could be if one is a regular consumer of soft drinks processed carbs, high sugar etc. I am just wondering what happened in my situation with so much of this as my norm albeit not 100%. I’ve been on omeprazole for over a year ,stop a day sometimes ,I thought that was a long time ago.
@@elizabethcason yes I did. I wish I knew years ago that all it takes is a little bit of dedication for three weeks to a month of staying on a metabolic reset or as people call it, carnivore diet. Once you do the reset your body almost goes back to completely normal. I have no problem eating wheat in Europe but it makes me very ill with GI symptoms in North America ( maybe I should thank Monsanto).
Maybe the type of gluten?
GMO grains
@@Cindy-by3ho Plus, glyphosates.
absolutely, wheat gluten has been modified tremendously through changing the genetic profile of wheat.

But what do you do on day 11...
@@genericwatcher2439 Start over. 😂
How do you do this 10 day detox diet?
so does this mean we should or shouldn't eliminate plain greek yogurt? thanks to whoever can help!
It would primarily depend on how your body responds to dairy.

Nonsense. Whole plant food is the long-term diet for humans. No need to kill an animal or steel baby growth fluid to be healthy. It's just the opposite. Have you tried eliminating gluten? Many people don't know they're sensitive to it.

Let’s give credit where credit is due. Dr. Albert Rowe developed the elimination diet in the 1920s and wrote a book about using the elimination diet to deal with allergies in 1941.

Ain't nobody got time for that haha pause it when you need to, I have too many videos to research for all that haha
You can slow down the speed if you need it.
Just slow the videos down
When Dr Hyman says too much too fast I just pause the video and sometimes go do something else and then come back to it.
Beans are fine, just soak them and rinse after cooking. Preferably buy organic beans. Combine them with the right foods.

Plus I gained total of 80 pounds just adding dairy and egg to vegan diet.
its your health you decide
You don’t have to do it. Everyone has their own level of commitment.
My wife is the same - closed minded to diet control

Just in three days I feel better eliminating dairy, gluten, and sugar. Natural sugar is key.
I've been on a mostly smoothie diet for over a year especially since I had my denture surgery in May of 2023
I drink adrenal cocktails twice daily. They come highly recommended. The Magnesuim Advocacy Group is an excellent place to start.
Standard Process has good products for adrenal support

Denise
For 💩 you can give her MCT oil or castor oil. Vegetarian food 😅 !
Definitely, wheat and cereal is so bad for you, meat, berries and vegetables are your friend. Good luck.🙂
Cereal,is not food
You’re describing all my symptoms , aching joints , pins and needles , fatigue , migraines , bloating etc … butttt I’m vegan (whole foods ) and gluten free .. something I eat regularly.. peanut butter , home made 100% peanuts unsalted - could this be the culprit??
I am able to eliminate Sugar and Gluten from my diet, but find it difficult to go without Dairy. I need a splash of milk in my coffee, and love eating unsweetened Greek Yogurt. Is Organic cows milk and Organic Yogurt OK,? or are they inflammatory .?
I'm looking into the Mediterranean diet. There is some dairy, bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, but the emphasis is veggies and fish.
Dont sweat it. Live your life and dont worry about every little thing. Enjoy your little bit of dairy.
All this video and I want a GUIDE to do this. You say there is a free plan attached. Please show me. I spent 30 min
Oozing through all your notes and even your website. Nothing about this specific reset plan.
Y’all go to 10:13 to skip the first half of the babbling video. He takes too long to get to the point.
Thank you.

You’re a hero!
You are so mean. Why are you even listening to him after 10:13? Because you will benefit right? So selfish
I always fail at these challenges because I'm too stupid. I need meal plans. Especially ones using everyday food. Not weird stuff I can't get.
There's nothing weird about fruit, vegetables, eggs, meat and fish.
@@kateking3953 duh. I'm talking about these ingredients like tiger nut flour and tapioca flour.... stuff you have to order because your local grociery doesnt have them.
Eat Whole Foods. Nothing with “ingredients “
Except for nuts, I follow most of what you suggest here but honestly at about 95% Meaning I will have something I should not from my gluten free dairy free alcohol free, carbohydrate free nutritional norm. But recently, under a stressful transition (building a house in another country where I have moved..) I got my HbAc1 checked--as I do regularly and it had shot up to 7.4 after a year or being reduced from 6.2 to 5.7 over the last year. I also lost 10 pounds over the last few years.. I was so shocked, I started watching more of this type of online information. In fact I do a one week detox a few times a year to get off the 5% when I notice it is on the increase.. I feel like I have been maintaining good nutrition but I still have inflammation issues.
