I’ve watched this video several times now. I realize that my gunpla hobby is not just building, but collecting and over-obsessing about tools. I find myself spending an equal if not more time looking at modeling tools and paint. Yellow Submarine is not helping lol. Thanks for sharing another awesome video!
Now that is a hobby store! It's almost overwhelming, certainly incredible! I'd go straight for the diorama supplies; I wish we had something like this here in the US. Andy's Hobby Headquarters comes close. Thanks for sharing, Pixxellie.
Great video nice to find one about tools and no just the kits. One more in my list of places to visit on my trip to Tokyo next month. Thanks for sharing cheers
Yellow Submarine was a lifesaver for me back in 2019. I scored a parts runner for my HGUC The-O, as it was missing a bicep armor for some reason. I also picked up the Core Fighter parts for my RG Gundam GP01, as one of the beam saber holders snapped off and the Core Fighter is permanently in Core Block mode after I glued the holder back in place.
I loved going to Yellow Submarine when I was in Japan! The first one I stumbled upon was when I visited Hiroshima. I lost my composure a little when I got to the Parts Paradise, I've been seeing that online for over 15 years and finally seeing it irl was a spiritual experience
It’s really awesome!!! I’ve been to a few other locations but they didn’t carry modeling supplies, only board games and card games, so it was really awesome to finally visit a location with modeling stuff!
@@pixxellie OMG, you reminded of the disappointment of setting my Google maps to a Yellow Submarine location only to get there and see it's a TCG Only store, It happened to me so many times!
Absolutely Love these Videos !!! Still dream of one day going to japan, and being able to visit all of those hobby shops, so many great kits and so many things i've never seen before , thank you for these !!! Loving all the Expo, gaming and overall hobby stuff so far !!
@5:00 GunHed!!!!!! This is so 1990's right here!!! I remember reading the manga and watching the live-action film on video laserdisc!!! So many wonderful memories!!!
@@pixxellie Yes, there is a manga!!! The manga adaption is by Kia Asamiya, who also created Silent Mobius. I am an 'old school' otaku, I have been collecting Japanese animation since the late 70's, 80's, 90's, and 2000's. Along with VHS, S-VHS, video lasderdiscs, CDs, DVDs, manga, artbooks, magazines, model kits, and import videogames.
This place looks sick! If you pick up any AK stuff, I recommend Streaking Grime. It works so well. It would be especially useful if you do get some of those terrain kits.
7:20 I think that box says Xenogloassia which is the alternate universe mecha spinoff of Idol Master. It is weird that a franchise like Idol Master has a mecha anime, but Japanese franchises are sometimes weird like that. Muv Luv started off as a ero romantic comedy visual novel and now it's a super serious, alien invasion, mecha anime.
If you attend the All-Japan Hobby Show in September, see if you can meet the president of Yellow Submarine. I met him for the first time at the last show. We'd had a conversation in Japanese for quite a while before I discovered that he speaks English very well! Extremely nice guy. You can probably guess who his favorite band is. 😉
oh thats so cool! What an awesome experience. What motivated me to go was hearing Max Watanabe talk about how much he loves that place in the little youtube documentary thats out there about him.
Caught this video 35 mins after posting - if you're still in the pub around the corner can you go back and pick me up that Gunhed kit??!! 😊😊 Seriously, thanks for doing the retro / non Gundam kits - can you do these slower and in more detail in future and try and get the prices in shot - I likd torturing myself!!
Great video. I know you mostly deal with Gundam stuff but it would be great if you'd do a video on there regular kit offerings such as military and cars as an example.
This place is so nice. I could probably spend hours in that store. How is the Gundam section doing? Is the supply shortage over/ stocks is back to normal? It would be nice to see that section next time :)
nice tour! how often do you recommend to replace hobby nippers? whenever they get dull? or within a certain time frame? or do you recommend getting it re-sharpened?
I usually replace them when I find my cuts are becoming a bit more difficult or not looking as clean. It really depends on how much you use them! I've never sharpened any before so not sure about that. I probably go through one pair a year.
Sadly no matter how many cool paints they have, if you don't live in Japan, you can't take them with you. You can, but you risk airport security trashing your luggage and getting everything confiscated. Valid for laquer or enamel paints. They are a fire hazard and classified the same as lighter fuel. Which to be fair are the only ones worth buying there. In Osaka, one store had a warning, cause they got so many complaints from tourists who had their paints confiscated. So it was sad to see so many colors i wanted, but couldn't get any.
Tool and paint overload. A literal wall of paint.
Also paused for a moment when the Gunhed kit came on screen.
Thank you for sharing this.
thank you for watching! It truly was paint overload!

thanks for watching! I totally understand. Going down the tools and paint rabit hole can basically be a hobby of its own!
Mind blowing to see that Gunhed B-Club special and the Gunhed kit 🤯
yes they both look so awseome!! I love finding cool non-gundam books like that!
Now that is a hobby store! It's almost overwhelming, certainly incredible! I'd go straight for the diorama supplies; I wish we had something like this here in the US. Andy's Hobby Headquarters comes close. Thanks for sharing, Pixxellie.
What an incredible store! So envious, nothing like that where I live. Thanks for taking me shopping, lol.
thanks for watching lol!
Loved your tour of the store!!
Thank you!!!
What makes your videos so great is your eye for unique and/or vintage finds! Awesome content as usual, Pixxellie!
Thank you so much! That means a lot! ☺️
This place is HEAVEN!!!! The hobby shops where I live is non-existent!!!
I would not mind spending a fortune at Yellow Submarine!!!
I feel the same way! where I grew up there was one hobby shop but it was nothing like this!
Great video nice to find one about tools and no just the kits. One more in my list of places to visit on my trip to Tokyo next month. Thanks for sharing cheers
Yay! I’m so glad it was helpful! 😊
Wish I saw this before I went to Tokyo a few months ago!
Love your videos ❤❤❤😊
Thank you so much!! There’s always next time!!
You're Under Arrest! That bring back so much memories.
I'm so old lol
I’ve never seen the show but I like the retro art style!
Thanks, Pixxelie!!😊 You gave me one more reason to move to or visit Japan. Model kits are getting hard to find here in Arkansas. 7:34
Thanks for watching! Hey there’s always eBay, but nothing beats a real store

my favorite shop, and also some times cheaper than other floor
It’s a great shop for sure! A worthy favorite!

I love the AK stuff! I used the texture paints in my GBWC diorama!
Fantastic Coverage , the Best Video on Yellow Submarine I've ever seen . Have you thought about doing one on Volks ? Thank You for doing this video.
Yes I really want to do one on volks but they have a strict no filming policy sadly!
@@pixxellie That's Okay , Yellow Submarine really has it all.

sounds complicated lol! ty for the info though. I had no idea about that series.

lol I filmed this a few weeks ago! I'm sure I will include prices in some future vids so no need to worry. thanks for watching!
The picesnof the Mr Hobby primers 😮 I pay 13 quid for a can of that!
Great video. I know you mostly deal with Gundam stuff but it would be great if you'd do a video on there regular kit offerings such as military and cars as an example.
Wow!! And I thought Hobby Lobby was cool. I gotta get out more.
Hobby Lobby barely comes close to these wonderful and very well stocked Japanese hobby stores.
This place is so nice. I could probably spend hours in that store. How is the Gundam section doing? Is the supply shortage over/ stocks is back to normal? It would be nice to see that section next time :)
There’s definitely no supply issues with gundam as far as I can tell!
nice tour!

great video! i feel like i could just hang out at that store and window shop for hours haha
It's definitely that kind of shop! Thanks for watching
😍👍✌️
