Yo Alex first of all Thanks for the video, I've been watching the video these past years, and Right now I'm staying in Japan. 100% will visit your recommendation!!
you did make detailed research and this is one of best video made for people who want to know the prices of shopping which make the best purchase for good value for money. well done.
Hello, I am an 'old school' fan here. Was introduced to Gundam when I was 9 years old back in 1980-1981. I got a couple of Gundam toys as gifts from a relative overseas when I was a kid. All I want for Christmas is a round trip ticket to Japan, and my first stop will be this place, The Gundam Base Tokyo. Thanks for sharing!!!
This is the video that hits the head on the nail. I think people say shop at Yodabashi because it is so easy to find, and the prices are still good compared to shopping online in the states. Surugaya is my first stop every time I go to Akihabara.
Surugaya is absolutely my favorite store in Japan [Especially their tiny location near Manseibashi in Akiba], We checked their stock every day while we were in Tokyo.

Cesar Berumen Sometimes they’re just tired of rude tourists. Because even I get tired of Chinese tourists and Australians. I can only imagine what kind of bullshit they have to deal with on a daily basis.
I'm not going. But pick me up as many mg zaku 2 kits as you can get. Willing to spend up to 30,000 yen what's that. Like 50$? Seriously. I try looking for kits on us Gundam store. Are they kidding? High price for shipping and out of the essential kitsi want and need. Zaku's, mazinga infinity. And lots of UA-camrs refer to them as the best. there's more selection and better deals on eBay. The only thing is that it's directly from Japan. That means long wait. I ordered a gera Zulu and it took like three months.
30,000 is roughly 300usd lol Usagundamstore is actually not bad. Granted yes there’s a markup cuz of shipping and import fees from japan, also - they’re a business... there has to be some overhead. But I don’t think they’re that bad in terms of pricing for a shop based in the US. Sure you can find cheaper online or directly from japan. But USAGS is going through proper channels and importing as a company, so to me, it’s understandable that pricing may not be the same as in Japan.

I love getting ideas for new content, but there’s a problem with what you’re asking...
because rarity of a kit is highly dependent on external factors such as reprint cycle on Bandai’s end, or shifting market changes, or even just shifts in people’s tastes which will ultimately increase or decrease availability of a specific kit or series.
Additionally it’s very difficult for me to objectively speak on what a ‘good limited edition/pbandai kit’ is..
namely because what some people want and prefer in kits will greatly different than my own. Some people love milky clear kits, or sparkled gloss injection molded kits, or just want things from the MSV line...
so I think it would be difficult to objectively frame the concept in a way to be good general advice in that nature..

Hi! I’m visiting Tokyo in two weeks from today...first time....where would I be lucky enough to find a metal structure 1/60 rx-93 nu gundam? Anybody??? Please help!
Jaco534 if they’re not sold out yet, Gundam Base, Bic Camera and Yodobashi might have it
Alexdadoof Studios .....Thank you! Much love!
14:00 me in any hobby store.
Because its one the places in Japan that has the largest selection of models.
I need to goto Japan.
Id be like a kid in a sweet shop.
Haha pretty sure hundreds of others would be exactly the same way 🤗
@@AlexdadoofStudios You just dont get that calibre of model kit shop over here in the UK.
Seeing all those Tamiya/Bandai Star Wars kits, it was like model kit porn.
i want to go back to Diver City! New subscriber here :)
Prosperidades a todos os paizes,Japão e o mezmo a soceolojia eternamemte.
Yodobashi is a good place to shop

Modelmaker's boomhut bring me here. Where is the over 13 years flex in Japan comment, I want the drama.
Wish I can go to Japan again 😁

Ammar Rahman sorry, as much as I’d love to that’s not something I can really start doing.. you’re more than welcome to check out some other proxy buyers who will help you out
Thank you
Ammar Rahman you’re welcome! :)
Why does America not do this, all we get out here is minimal collector shops full of sport shit and a few things like this. We don’t even have any cool restaurants like Japan, all we get is sports bars
I wish I could go to Japan just for gunpla
Bear brick?
13:37 middle of the shelf. Big LEGO looking bears.
Google it! ;)
@@AlexdadoofStudios so it's like funko pops but in bear form of characters
Richard Everett more of a ‘high fashion/design’ movement...
@@AlexdadoofStudios I saw the prices online, fuck that
Richard Everett hahaha
Yeah and I thought funkopops were pricey lolz 😂
we all know you love the creepy dolls
Yellow Submarine is for niche things.
Who else is here for research purposes for future trip to Japan?!!!?
I think 90% of all the views of this video fall under that category. You wouldn’t believe the amount of DMs I got thanking me for this video haha 😂

Great video guide!
Geoff Longman
Thanks!
I went back and watched my osaka video again.. and man..... I was not happy.. amazing how even a couple months can change your standards in how you create content..
I bought at Yodobashi sometimes for the reason that it's cheaper than my home country and i get tax refund
You wanna take me with you to japan
Think of the money they are making
That’s what businesses typically try to do :)
Not Foreigner friendly?
Cesar Berumen oh yeah, that’s definitely a thing bruh.
@@AlexdadoofStudios, any reason for that being? Just curious, lol.
Cesar Berumen Sometimes they’re just tired of rude tourists. Because even I get tired of Chinese tourists and Australians. I can only imagine what kind of bullshit they have to deal with on a daily basis.
@@AlexdadoofStudios, makes sense. Thanks for the info brother. Have a good morning. 👍
30,000 is roughly 300usd lol
Usagundamstore is actually not bad.
My apology...
