While India is busy in endless cycle of testing and retesting DRDO design drones, Turkey have made tremendous achievement in designing and building drones , TB2 seems primitive when compared to their other design.

Problem with us is we think of too much defensive. Drone attacks can be suppressed by counter attacking run away, potential surveillance and gathering information ahead is identifying what is going to come. Critical systems needs to be deployed accordingly. We have strong army on ground but in air we don't have enough punch power. Once AMCA is ready game will be different altogether. Once we could make our own flight engine, it will goes to next stage as it doesn't matter number of drones, we can fight until victory

I guess QR SAM would be replacing Soviet era systems like SA 25 Pechora & 2K 12 Klub Air Defence Systems which have a similar range of 25-30 kms, possibly starting 2024-25.
Since we have already cancelled 104 K 30 Biho deal which was supposed to replace the Soviet era systems like Osa & Tunguska & even if we hope to get Pantsir instead, we won't be able to do so in the near future atleast (next 1-2 yrs considering the current geopolitical scenario)- Viewing all this I feel, this is the main reason behind Army upgrading it's Local Air Defence systems like Schilka, 9K33 Osa, 9K35 Strela. I won't be too surprised if in future, Army decides to upgrade Tunguska as well so that it can serve for another 10 years.
Probably use this time to develop an indigenous Pantsir type system. Once the above legacy systems are upgraded, you will have time till 2030, might as well utilize it to develop an indigenous system.
You have good 7-8 years to do so. Do it under PPP mode. DRDO can partner a private sector company like it's doing in Light Tank. Do it under IDDM category.
We are already developing indigenous MANPADS, so that helps in avoiding Igla S.
So this way more or less by the end of decade atleast 60% of Army's Air Defence would be relying on indigenous systems. Rest 40% would also be getting covered in future developments.
We saw how the Russians failed to protect their armored columns and artillery from being targeted by drones. It's not just about identifying and neutralizing the drones, Russsian failed to deploy their own drone to survey the areas and give early warning about the possible ambush. With all sorts of anti-tank weapons, Tanks and heavy equipment are easy targets for even foot soldiers. Tanks are still important as it brings heavy firepower to the battlefield and is faster to deploy. However, using them for the frontline attack is like fighting with the WWII war strategy. If India needs to counter any drone attack, we need to have better communication and coordination. More than neutralizing the actual drone, we should develop the capability to trace the control center and eliminate that. Tanks or any ground unit needs to have their own Drones and radars, along with any support needed from Airforce to knock out fighter planes.
Control centres can also be dispersed Switchblade drones can work out of a soldier's backpack

🇮🇳 is developing wide range of cruse missiles. One of lessons from the Ukraine is to unlease the missiles first to completely destroy and overwhelm the enemy air defence systems and high value targets then use tanks and multi barrel rocket launchers and howezers. But drones and man portable ATGMs remains a big challenge for Tanks to move forward.

invasion on POK means a limited war, and it will suite the Pakistan's Tactical warfare capability and will provide a joint theater for limited war that means IOK will b in trouble. so Attack or Invasion on POK = loss of IOK.
I think we should also consider involvement of attack helicopters of army aviation with mistral and other air to air missiles.
Not enough response time. You would possibly identify and locate a drone when it is just a few km from you or less than a minute before the attack. it's not enough time to deploy of helicopter unless it is already in the air with all the weapon systems working. Moreover, drones are small and more agile than Helicopters.
@@RajeevRumale I completely agree with you and I guess shooting Male & Hale UAV's with helicopters is not possible due the height at which they operates. And shooting them will only be possible if they are part of a network centric system and when helis are in air moving with or ahead of armour.
Mi-28 can do it but Russians have not deployed many saving the best for NATO ;) + when with columns in enemy territory will have to return to base for refuelling vulnerable itself all the while

The video mostly considers Tanks in defensive positions. The system might not be so much of use when our troops have to invade enemy territories. Russia had more advanced technology and equipment but when they entered Ukraine and got spread out they were left without any protection and cover. Most of the systems India has are available with Russia, however, they were not effective, because you might face attacks from multiple sections and are not limited to drones. For example, some drones might just give the pinpoint location, and then artillery rains in the fire. A drone is just one additional dimension that any soldier has to keep track of now.
Only Tanks Equipped with Active protection systems can defend them

we use the same systems like russia and we can cleaarly see russia is facing a lot of drawbacks for these drones .tb2 is extremely effective...we need to develop more advance systems against these drones or else we will face a devastating effect . never underestimate your enemy.thats the only rule you need to remember during war

IAF does use the Russian the Strela-10M - a highly mobile, short-range surface-to-air missile system with an operational range of upto 5 kms.
IAF operates 4 different class of missiles - Akash, SPYDER, Russian 9K33 Osa-AK-M and IGLA - in a networked environment. This provides multiple layer protection to critical resources and locations.
But does Russia use the Akash and Israeli-origin SPYDER air defence systems??

What about teaming up of LnT's Sudarshan CIWS along with Armed formations that could easily replace vintage systems like Shilka, Tungsta and other short/medium range multiple systems???
In war situation lots of drones operates nearby Forest, hilly terrain sea, river areas and swamp in which no other defence system can reach the important defence spots easily, but the drones reach their easily (It is not possible to have permanent radar Covered defence system which is suitable for aircraft, helicopters only, which is also costly!!) that is useless in case of small and stealth drones!! So it is wise to have full fledged anti drones system with electronic warfare capable to counter stealth drones, alongwith attack drones sys. mounted in 4x4 trucks which can move in small mountain roads or amphibian vehicle in river, sea areas !!
In short we should give much importance to anti drones systems alongwith all types of big defence systems and to accompany with troops logistics movements especially the tanks and nearby air strips!!
Pakistan doesn’t have enough funds to acquire enough Turkish drones to overwhelm Indian air defence systems. We have enough air defence systems on the border and increasing day by day that countering enemy drones, missiles, helicopters, fighters won’t be a hard task.

Small RUAV drones carrying short range AAM flying with/a little ahead of the convoy Landing shouldn't be much of a problem for small rotorcrafts even in enemy territory
The problem with India is that till today we couldn't develop a decent attack drones, and those we are developing will take long time. And we should not forget the big problem we have, it's a testing time our military takes unnecessary long time to test the systems and even after successfull trial order is uncertain. Meanwhile our enemy acquired these kinds of systems.

The cultural issue, Indian military wants to stay two hands away from politics. Most of them are happy with retirement and a second job mostly a desk job. Probably we need to train a few into social media skills especially young officers coming out after completing short service commission.

Actually it’s a real threat because the speed of TB 2 is slow and wingspan is not that big ( remember Russian are using these air defences systems ), one more aspect it’s only 2 million $ hardware , where as a tank or Russian short range system is 20 mil and lives are being lost . We need a whole new system to tackle these threats . Our existing jamming system the DRDO developed its range is small . The altitude TB2 operate its quite high. India need needs to see what Israel can provide to tackle these threats. Greece and Israel are working together to find a solution . TB 2 is creating quite a problem for Greek navy .

Yes, shooting down a drone might save you from immediate effect. But since they are so cheap, your enemy would deploy more. It's important we have the technology to locate the launch and control sites and eliminate them. Unlike US drones which can be controlled from a different continent, Turkish drones need a direct link and operate a few km around the control point.
We need to develop artificial intelligent drone against enemy drone. It must take out enemy drone without human support . It is the only way 🤔 Jay Hind 🙏

This is irrelevant because drones caN be detected and shot down. The problem happens when it is swarm drones. So there is no problem as we would have front-end radars which would pick up these drones and we are also working on the laser guided systems which can decimate and disintegrate these drones.

when Pakistani fighter jets entered indian air space and our defense systems shoot down our own helicopter, seeing that I have a doubt about how effectively our defense system can counter swarm drones. Buying best defense system isn't enough, we have to focus on soldiers training and thier better coordination with other defense assets.
From what I understand no country today has an answer for swarm drones, swarm done can overwhelm the defense systems. If the swarm consists of 10-20 or more drones it would easily saturate the entire defense system unless you want to use an EMP ( remember the Matix movie ). The even USA is as vulnerable as India and Pakistan from a swarm drone attack.
if you have such a clumsy defense system, you will never stand a chance against a tb2 that is used when the Turkish "koral" system is on the field, which confuses the target and makes electronic jamming. Also, Turkey has started to use Akıncı, a top segment is equipped with air-to-air air-to-ground 250km range dom j missiles and "KIZILELMA" is coming, the unmanned fighter jet is probably going to be bought by pakistan :)

We are capable for defence but carrying so much of vehicles for protection from ground,air attacks is not practicle ,it is only theoratical and air planes cannot remain in air for protection of tanks 24 x 7 so system needs to be refined on one tank with all capabilities and automatic system rather than havoc and headache.

Drones are real threat in modern warfare which can do lethal damage to AD & then can take out armour in peacemeal manner,hard kill is not a viable option since every AD system carries limited no of missiles,better option is soft kill through JAMMERS which I blv DRDO has developed,even Ukraine conflict has displayed use of Drones & hard kill is not an option during a swarm drone attk,SOFT KILL is only solution for such attacks

No we can't because TB2 connes under 5 mill and we are buying (although a very different class but both are equally vulnerable to airdefence and an easy target for air to air ) 100 mill per piece so we need a really cheaper counter to TB 2

24 hrs Drones support for our artillery & tanks. It is like sending sniper with every petrol army unit.
All drones must have SAM / stringers/ IGLA missiles only to destroy enemy drones .
Russian don't have 24 hrs Drones support for their tanks , armour but India useing israeli armed & kamizer drones, after Galwan few American drones is also available.
Best option Indian drones with long range air to air missiles.
