For future jet engine joint development, the U.S. is not reliable at all, and the UK can be influenced by the U.S. Russia is reliable, but its technology is not that advanced. If India solely develops, the time it will take will be significant. Therefore, France is the only country that can help us out.

Not than U.S, but comparable and maybe even slightly better than U.K's.Also, France is the only nation that is reliable and India is also not currently successfully developing engine of that class,we do not thus have any other option.
And France is trying to out from US influence and trying to increase its influence in entire europ to bit USA as well as Indo Pacific region.
Bharat should keep focus on kaveri engine at any cost. That's the only way we can become independent in future
I think Bharat should give the engine to Pakistan once developed and give us the technical know-how + build engine build facility.
This is the ultimate way to peace......and will change Pakistan.
When we induct the KAAN fighter it will contain an American engine and they will block the sale, Bharat should step in then and provide Kaveri engine + bulld facility + technical know-how as Bharat-Pakistan friendship gift.

The basic problem is unreliability of USA in supply and sharing defense equipment and technologies. In a way, this is good for India as it can work on Atma Nirbharata in these areas with the help of Russia or France or Israel. If USA improves its behavior, it can join with India for a big partnership. But even in the recent times, after Pannu incident, USA showed its true colors!!!

And many times our politicians have not exceeded properly to maximise indigenous developments. That's the reason that we're still so much dependent upon foreign countries in defence matters.
Nobody is going to share this niche tech. Even we are not sharing the UPI system with anyone but co-partnering.
We must re-start our engine Kaveri and it's variants by any means. Without own engines, there's no point of Atmanirbharta.
Work is going to start on Kaveri for it rebirth to get an indigenous engine having thrust upto 81-83kN.
France will do that in order to split the cost of engine development

India will be eventually making Kaveri engines of around 80-85 KN. Thus here there will be Atma Nirbharata.
However making anything at 95-100 KN will be a long journey and thus there is dependence on foreign countries (most probably US).
For futuristic engines 120+ KN makes sense to get into a joint partnership with a dependable foreign country which can definitely be France.

Very advance planning for the AMCA engine. We should carefully plan and design the engine as there will be unimaginable changes in the science and research by 2150 the 200th birth anniversary of Shri Modiji . We should review progress made in science and technology every decade so that we get the best by 2150.

Wish they also develope the m88-3&4 engines along and use them in mk1a& rafale(m88-3 )and tedbf(m88-4) and 120kn for mk2/amca.
100 percent ToT is a myth unless its a co-development, 3 nations hold steadfast relationship till atleast 2040s India France and UAE not US neither Israel nor Russia.Some People in India get extremely emotional with Israel or Russia yes they are important partners but IUF hold the key in West Asia and Indo-Pacific. Sir...if we want to attain a real super-power or a dependable regional power status we will need credible force projection capabilities in next 10-15 years...IAF & IN Air-wing will need dependable local production of Medium Wt 5th gen fighters ie AMCA category, Heavy Wt. Class 5th gen fighter/bombers ie F-22/J-20/Su-57 weight category & Medium Lift Transport Aircraft for mule-duties as well as serving as a platform for various electronic/reccon systems incl AEWs & MMRAs...also included will be next gen trainer aircrafts, Light transport aircrafts in jet powered C-130/C-390 category, HALE/MALE UCAVs...we will therefore need different categories of engines starting from 25kn to 150kn...i am still a firm believer that we should adopt a 3-pronged strategy....First, the DRDO Kaveri 90kn should be persued for future LCA Mk 1/2 tranches as 80kn will not fullfill future power requirements, efforts must continue till we achieve our own "holy grail" 140-150kn engine....Second, TOT for AL-41 & Iz-30 140-160kn class engines with Russia for Su-30 upgrade & any possible follow-on for AMCA ie heavy class stealth design or bomber design in future by DRDO, in this we must focus on improving the reliability of those engines by tweaking the design or metallurgy or by using better production equipment which are not accesdible by Russia due to western sanctions ...Third, the 125-130kn class engine with Safran for AMCA Mk2 & possibly ORCA/TEDBF Mk2....this might seem a costly & wastefull pipe-dream or even a fan-boy wishlist but i think these categories of aircrafts will be needed by our Armed Forces within in next 20-30 years & if we do not develop these technologies right now we might again end-up at the doors of western companies in 15-20 years

Why can't we use Safran engine for the LCA aircraft instead of GE 404. America is dragging its feet and delaying it to meet their own vested interests.
What are your comments on it?
The IAF will swap the GE 404 engine of the Tejas Mk1 and Tejas Mk1A with the GTRE GTX-35VX Kaveri engine in the future, so there is no point in signing a deal with Safran for a 80+ kN engine for the LCA Tejas Mk1/Mk1A.
@@biscuit5359 but that's a long time ahead. Now for Mk1A India is struggling to meet the production since GE has put a cap of 20 engines per year which will impact Mk1A timelines. We should be going with trusted allies like France who will not side with Pakistan or Chine

25-30 yrs
1 decade is enough with French collaboration.
Kaveri still needs 2 to 3 decades to mature without technical assistance.
Luckily we will get know how if things goes well in volatile geopolitical situations.

We need a 90KN kaveri for Tejas. Tejas has issues w.r.t trans-sonic performance. Additionally, the additional thrust can allow India to upgrade the Tejas Mk1A in the future. Similarly, instead of going for a 110KN engine, we should go with a 130KN engine for similar reasons.
Please describe about why Tejas mk2 fighter jets canards touch the main wing of it. I can't see before no other fighter jet canards wing touch the main wing of fighter jets. It's a design fault or not
I think " tejas " Is really short in length in compare to other jets so no room there .. I think That's why they didn't chose to go with full 180° moving canards.... 🤔 it shouldn't be a problem if it works fine... 👍

That's why work on Mk2 is happening
It's too small to handle the power of GE F414, Tejas Mk1 is a Light combat aircraft(LCA) while Tejas Mk2 is a Medium Weight Fighter (MWF). Don't ignore the thrust to weight ratio of a aircraft.

Those are huge engines
Jet engines have categories by there fan diameter and thrust , su 30 engine is larger in size than kaveri or f404 or f414 engines by diameter , Chinese engine falls in same category as su 30 engine, that why there j 10 have such large engines and also f 16 have same category engines , and the engine of which we are talking about in this video is of different category which isn't known now , but it would be very similar to f414 engine size .
If we think right
We want to produce 120 kn thrust from f414 size engine, which won't be easy .
