Whoever has the strongest is the hegemon and there's no place for No. 2, why do you think U.S has been standing as a global hegemon since WW2. Let's look at the evidence, even Russia doesn't want rupees to settle oil and natural gas transactions as you can't buy jackshit with worthless Indian rupees. Give it another 10 years, China will be the same peer (currently it's near peer) as the United States, so it's better for India to grovel to China, give up Arunachal Pradesh and stop claiming Aksai Chin, and pay reparation.

As far as India is concern, they has always hv deep seated prejudice against China, having a taboo, not wanting to lose to China with whatever means possible since the bitterness within border.

The white hair girl is very sensible. 1) Definitely China is still growing faster than West, despite slowing down. The focus on advanced manufacturing and technology has long term benefits as their renewables, EV, nuclear, high speed train shown. 2) I dont see China view India as an enemy/adversary. They dont look down on India for sure. THey very much want to have good relationship with India judging by their investment and trade. I travel between US and India and China a lot. I feel India has a big chip on its shoulder (my India friend told me the 1962 war effect) and has this inferiority complex, which is mostly self made. Border issues are historical and were not clear in the first place and India did not even exist then. I think it is better just to focus on peaceful coexistence rather than debating border issues which can be easily fanned by nationalism. I dont see China threatening India. India seems to be more sensitive when China is having relationship with Maldives and Bhutan and Nepal etc. 3) Asean and African and even Middle East start to see India is the odd one out - aligning more with West when it is clearly more like global south. China Russia does not want to change UN led world order but US-led world order. China often say it does not want to change US leadership per se but to make it fairer than current. Of course they prefer a multi-lateral world order, rather than US alone dictating things. 4) China wants to have a grt relationship with US too (as with India) judging by the students and business/tech exchange. It is the US (similarly India need to think thru as well) that wants to contain China because of their superiority complex (always scared of second catching up). 5) China always said they never want to be a hegemony. Somehow India always paints a picture of China bullying others. US for sure, but not China. I see them just reacting. They want peace with Bhutan, Nepal. They are not doing nothing with Japan, Malaysia, Vietnam per se. Philipine is the odd one out in Asean because US is egging them on, Taiwan is similar. 6) Like Chinese all around the world, I see the Chinese DNA is doing business, not to have war.
As saying "A Friend in need is a friend indeed" India is not a friend in need for Russia considering Rusia had stood by India in time of India's need. India should know time will come for India as well like Russia is facing now. Its seems India is too much opportunistic
