The fact Milton came back for a second interview, after he was falsely accused and locked up for 17 days, because he still wanted to help the investigation and get justice for Andre, speaks volumes about his character.
Agreed. He put his own feelings and mistreatment aside to try and gain justice for his friend... I respect that immensely.
he's got nothing else to do

They owe him about 250k for shitty police work. Lying by the cops and lazy ass police work caused all this. These detectives needed to get off their asses and assume they know less than they think they do cause they didn't know shit nor did they verify shit quickly. Arrogance and laziness are diseases

@@antonilagares8453I know quite a few men that talk just like that. I knew that was an innocent man talking shit. Reminded me of that scene from Friday.
He needs to get that bank! 😂
What’s weird about Helen is that she said she’s a certified nurses aid, but when she calls 911 she has no idea what to do about helping him?? That was already a red flag
my first thought exactly.
That was my clue, too.
What I thought was weird about it is that she supposedly went over right after she heard a thump but he was already totally dead after being stabbed once. Even if it was in the heart, it's still going to take like a minute or two to actually die.
That was a major red flag and the fact that she didn’t even know CPR!
Not really. People can have all the skills in the world and when it comes to them using it in their own personal situations. It all goes out the window

It's actually terrifying how easily these detectives just assumed Milton was guilty and locked him up with no evidence other than Helen, the actual murderer, saying he was there.
And then took so long to arrest her, after catching her in so many lies, and she was on parole.
Misandry. Women detective. 1+1.
Happens a lot, sadly 😢
I think it has more to do with black men being seen as significantly more violent than black women. Goes back to misandry but it is even deeper than that.@@dylanmcshane9976
@@dylanmcshane9976 Honestly, I think it had more to do with him being a black, homeless guy. Basically, he "looks the part". Also, misandry doesn't explain the male detective either. Does he hate men also?
😢can you imagine how many innocent people are sitting behind bars because of detectives like this?
Which is why the Death Penalty is frightening!
My first thought was... Of all the crime docus I have watched these have got to be the worst detectives I've ever come across watching these interviews, I mean OMG!!!!!
America has a extremely poor quality legal system
Lol. imagine sitting behind a computer and saying something like this without a clue.
If a person that your first inference of basically tells you that they were going to get married, and there was someone else there that day, and you can't find evidence that they weren't there that day based on the things brought up in this video. Where would you go? Yeah you can disbelieve the one person there, but there wasn't anything linking her to the crime until then.
Were they unprofessional in a couple instances? Sure, however to sit there and act like people doing hours upon hours of detective work, trying to BELIEVE someone is innocent versus immediately treating everyone with scrutiny is wild. The mother was also backing her up at first. By all accounts in the beginning, if she hadn't even said anything about Milton and made it some fake gang thing to begin with she would have probably gotten off scott free because they would be looking for someone imaginary and wouldn't have known there was any lies.
Literally watch the video and process the information as it comes in. Just open Notepad on your computer and give yourself your clues one by one and tell me how you'd trust one person over another with 0 evidence that the person you're trusting, and even more so a collaboration between two people, that she's telling the truth. Come on now.
Milton say “boy, may you rest in peace Andre” struck me as kind of funny. Almost like it was a joke between him and the dead man. Like damn you Andre you getting after me even in death 😂
Right lmao. “I don’t know what’s going on but damn brother”
I feel so bad for Milton. He came in and told the truth, total cooperation and they throw him in jail for 17 days. I hope he sues and gets his 125 million dollars
😊
no seriously!!
Or even the dinner he ask for lol
They wasn’t taking him serious since he started talking and the woman lady is terrible she sucks at her job, she did everything emotionally rather than logically
Only thing is once you sue you sign an NDA so nobody is going to know unless you know bro personally or run into his rich ahhh on da streets.
"When a killer outsmarts the worst detectives you've ever seen"
Not hard to do for these two 😂
‘Did you kill Andre?’
-‘No’
‘Good enough for us… sorry for wasting your time ma’am.’
When she mentioned “that’s from tv” to Milton. I couldn’t help but think she was projecting.
Lmao, I love this comment. Looking forward to the interrogation (1:33)
It wasnt smart of her
At 26:30, when Milton withholds the name of his ex, I see that as a sign of strength and confidence, as he has no trouble admitting to the police that he is withholding irrelevant information.
Yup. I saw it as mistrust of police and trying to protect her from exactly what he was dealing with.
I mean it was irrelevant because he didn’t commit the crime. And there’s no need to bring someone else in there for them to railroad just like they’re doing him! I wish he never said anything once he realized he was a suspect, then it wouldn’t have even gotten that far.
Poor Andre. Gave to his country , gave a roof to the needy , gets killed.
Good deeds never go unpunished
I wanted to note that Milton's behavior while he's alone in the interrogation room can be explained by him being homeless. A lot of homeless people, especially homeless men, are very very isolated and lonely a lot of the time. They start externalizing their thoughts almost like they're talking to someone else as a way of having a sort of companion to talk to. It's a psychological adaptation to extreme isolation and loneliness
Thank you for saying this. Also homeless people are basically criminals automatically in the eyes of the law, and not trusting cops is completely understandable if you’re homeless. Milton seems like a really good guy, but it’s hard to comprehend how bad being homeless fucks with your head if you’ve never been homeless.
Damn, I do that
Me too :/ and i do spend a lot of my time by myself. At work I do socialize but when it comes to break time I rather sit alone or go to my car. Then there’s those coworkers that say stuff out loud about “why are u so shy?” “Awh you’re all by yourself.” And I just laugh and smile and say “I like it this way.” They find that weird. And then my next job I just sit it my car to avoid all that. I always do find someone and share Info at every job but when it comes to my lunch break I much rather eat by myself and enjoy some peace and quiet. Unless I find someone relatable then we sit together in my car or at a table. Other than that I’m at home with my 5 year old daughter, her dad sadly passed away at the age of 2 and a half so it’s just us. We go out once a week tho (:

That female detective is a joke. Literally did everything wrong. She immediately took Helen’s side because she was manipulated by tears. Didn’t take time to build proper rapport with Milton, and got tunnel vision as soon as Helen accused him. And arrested and charged an innocent man based completely on hearsay and unfounded accusations with ZERO evidence physical or otherwise. That female detective needs to be reprimanded for her actions.
Ya, Lorna Garcia laughed at an innocent man and then put him n jail for murder, all because 'well helen said so'

Yup some people are so good at crocodile tears.
Helen? Oh, yeah. Helen.

These detectives are dangerous to our society. Just think of all the innocent people sitting in jail because of these idiots.

On top of how the police treated him, it’s heartbreaking that Milton was homeless at 68 years old.

Whaat!!! So you're gonna skip over the fact that Helen Lied on Milton convincing police he's the murderer. Typical . So the 17 days falsely locked up is worse than Helen killing one man and trying to imprison another man for life
Oh I see. U gonna ignore that Helen murdered her boyfriend who housed and fed her and tried to imprison an innocent person. The problem is cops believing females immediately. And cops came off disgusting, yes, but they have a dead man and a suspect, who was Identified by deceased man's girlfriend
Yeah it just made her look unprofessional
Man they better have given Milton his $125M 😂😂
Highly doubt he got anything lol.
He is entitled to compensation for the 17 days regardless on top of his law suit. @An.Unsought.Thought
Milton has the demeanor of an old man that will tell it to you like it is and will scare your ass straight into having respect for him with the threat of a whoopin’ or else look like a fool. Detectives didn’t bother having any respect for him as soon as he walked in that door, so he merely gave it back to them. Doesn’t make him guilty, which is their first mistake by thinking that the way he’s answering their questions makes him such.
He’s an old timer with an old timer’s mentality. Closing my eyes and listening to him speak reminds me of an elderly neighbor I had years ago - straight forward and has no time for anyone’s bullshit. A man that will just tell it to you like it is, but deep down is a good person despite being down on hard times in life and making questionable choices.
A damn shame the way they treated him right off the bat.
I understand it’s an investigator’s job to prod and poke to get answers, but sometimes, they’ve already made up their answers in their head and will do anything to try and piece things together and force it to fit with those answers. Thankfully they at least got it right in the end.
Daaamn. Helen didn't just trick the detectives, she tricked 90% of the people who commented on this video prematurely.
I knew it. 😂 I went to look at comments because she was clearly lying. He was chill as heck.
I didn’t buy her reaction at all
Surprised so many people got tricked given benefit of being stress free and general format of these videos. Her story clearly leaves massive blank "was in doors and dropped" without any argument or scream for help?? That was fail by the police not to pick up on. And Milton gave lots of classic innocence hints.
Right!!! Those comments are funny bc dang!! This one was a roller coaster
@@oORoOFLOonot as supriseing as you think. Most men are hardwired to be at least somewhat protective towards women to begin with which is going to make them give her a bit of slack by default even if only subconsiously. And many women are told from near birth how vicious and dangerious men can be making them more likely to gravitiate towards wanting to belive the woman over the man. Throw in the sterotypes over money men and fighting and such and it can make many biased against the man right off the bat without even intending to be.
Plus many here like me are likely only listening at first rather then watching and the audio quality is just bad enough that its hard to make out subtile words and such.
Mix the two and throw on a bit of wanting to believe in the always loyal woman and vicious man killing over cash with a just a dash of people like me who just arent great at reading social ques.....well not supriseing so many would be taken in right off the bat.
I was infuriated with the female detective being so snide with Milton in the beginning and then laughing like they were pals at the end when they realize he’s innocent. I can’t stand a person who jumps to conclusions and doesn’t bother to get the cold facts. I would’ve rubbed it in the detective’s face in that second interview. I’m just glad that some justice was served.
She was very condescending. She couldn't admit she was wrong. I'm guessing she lacks empathy. Someone with a conscience would had felt very guilty about their previous actions.

My heart goes out Milton. When they interviewed people about him, they all said good things. He's a good character and the female Officer not only owes him an apology, the department owes him money for spending 17 days in jail.
hope my guy sued for that 125 mil he was talking about tbh
He could . I listened to this murder once on a podcast about a guy that found his girlfriend dead on her kitchen floor covered in blood and he broke down and held her body crying while the cops came and right away the cops accused him being the murderer just cuz he held his girlfriends corpse and that he did that on purpose so that way if they found his dna it would be because of that not cuz kill he her and also cuz he was obsessed with the show CSI .
He was dumb tho cuz he didn’t get a lawyer especially since he gave an alibi that actually checked out and no evidence was pointing towards him whatsoever but the cops didnt care and they still charged him anyways . A few months later they get a call from one of the neighbors and they said to look into the victims next door neighbor and come to find out , it was actually the neighbor that was the killer.
They let the boyfriend go but he sued them and won .
Thank god it was 17 days and not 17 years. That female detective should be charged
Unfortunately this happens a lot !
this case happened in 2017 I wonder if there was any update if he did end up suing?
So they threw a good man into jail for 17 days, and their only "evidence" is "trust me bro"
Isn’t it usually this way 🤷🏼♀️.
Luckily he was not locked up for 29 yrs or more before realizing he was innocent all along look at how many times that has happened especially with men of color trust me it happens alot
Because detectives are more likely to listen to and believe a “victim” female, than a male.. especially when the accusation is r§pe.
Two partners can be intimate with one another, until the girl randomly dislikes the dude for whatever reason and says it was “not consensual” to the judge. She’d then seduce the judge like how female cats rub their backs on the ground, acting all innocent and submissive, while the dude struggles to prove that it was consensual because that’s a subjective statement purely dependent on the feelings.

More people need to see this video. It's crazy how easy it is to be falsely accused for a crime you didn't even do.
I see people always call out why someone isn't arrested right away when their are rumors or accusations. Taking the time to gather evidence is SO IMPORTANT.
It’s crazy because if you google the case Milton’s name still pops up all over as a suspect arrested in a stabbing death. There are only a couple separate articles that say he was cleared. It still has the potential to harm even tho he is innocent.
The sad thing about this is this is all too common. Where the innocent are ended up charged with a crime that they never did and all come to the fact that a lot of the times detectives can lie and do citrifuge against somebody to make them say that they did the crime even though they didn't this is why there's a big push that you really should exercise your rights to remain silent and have a lawyer present. During interviews with police and detectives, you should never talk to a cop while you don't have a lawyer with you. Even if you want to help with them, always have a lawyer with you just so that you're protected against being charged with a crime that you never did

Funny how Americans still can't seem to learn. A person gets detained and somehow that equals guilty. Kind of like how they're handling that Idaho 4 case. Dangerous people.

I hope Milton has a good life now hearing his ex and her daughter say nice things about him as well as him still helping after they just assumed he was guilty for a quick arrest. He deserves a better life
Milton Killed me with the “72 hours” 😂😂😂
When Milton said “CALL VILLAGE INN” I knew he was innocent. It’s scary how detectives were so arrogant to just make him be guilty .
It's mind-blowing that poor Milton was arrested instantly and thrown in prison, but the woman who killed him and was so obviously lying about everything, and all evidence pointed to, was ALLOWED TO LEAVE, TWICE. How tf do you explain that? I can only explain it with sex bias. If this woman had half a brain and could stick to a simple story, she'd likely be free and Milton would likely be in prison for the rest of his life.
If she was a man (and particularly if the victim had been a woman) she'd have been the prime suspect from the outset, and every word she said treated with serious suspicion. She was the only person proven to be in the house on the day of the murder, the blood had clearly been cleaned up, she was the one who last saw him alive and she spent 11 minutes on the phone with her Mum before calling an ambulance.
@@heldinahtmlhellPossibly, but doubtful. The issue, as with most things wrong with cops, is training. Police are not trained to follow where the evidence leads. They're trained to develop a suspect, then figure out how the evidence fits around that suspect. That's why, as an example, a man was tried three different times for murdering his family, despite having a solid alibi, and in each trial the prosecution presented a different theory of the crime.
@@robertcampbell8070 Yes, but they have an extreme bias for choosing a suspect with a penis.
@@heldinahtmlhell I'd imagine him being homeless might have a bigger impact, but i wouldn't be surprised if gender played a part

Haven’t finished the video but paused to point out something that is very concerning. When the detective laughs when Milton claims they have 72 hours to hold him, it’s like she’s basically saying “Haha we’ll hold you as long as we want until we hear what we want” And that’s exactly what happens with a lot of people, they get tossed into jail and forgotten about with no charges. The constitution kept it ambiguous and some jurisdictions abuse that ambiguity to detain people unconstitutionally.

Any updates on Milton? I wonder if he’s alive and got his life back together
Milton is exactly why you never talk to law enforcement without an attorney. They put him in jail over 1 person claiming he was there. When he denied seeing Andre that day police immediately called him a liar. Police completely took the word of the one person they knew was in the house with Andre at the time of his death.
Helen should have been suspect number 1. They should have questioned Milton and let him go since they had zero evidence to prove he was there that day.
That's what bothers me the most about this, at that point the only other person they know for sure was in that house was her. Ig it's easy to say with hindsight but jfc at least try to hear the man out instead of just going all in on some shit you can't even prove
It showcase the biasness many in law enforcement have: Black vs White = White is presumed innocent, Black is presumed guilty 1st. Woman vs man = Woman is presumed truthful, men are liars. Someone presumed of a higher status, the upper echelon of society vs poorer = surely the upper echelon is innocent & the poor is the liar.
I suppose many have these deep seated biases but law enforcement, the ones who have the ability to utterly destroy people's lives if they get it wrong due to being biases, is the one occupation where better training & certain protocols should be put in placed & followed to the letter to eliminate or significantly decrease officers from being able to act on any biasness they may have because they of all occupations know full well liars & criminal acts occur amongst all no matter gender, social status, education, ethnicity, occupation.
In fact I'll go so far to say any & all cops, detectives, prosecutors, judges with any significant amount of experience who still have bias views based solely on gender, ethnicity, social status when they know liars & criminal activities exist amongst them all are totally incompetent to remain in those positions. Biasness in those positions destroy innocent lives, cause tax payers "billions" of dollars & even worse, often allow the truly guilty to walk free.
While you generally shouldn't talk to cops, the cops were gonna jail Milton whether or not he talked, and it's not like he accidentally incriminated himself.
@@zzasdfwaswhy would they jail him anyway? He never said anything incriminating. He was righteously angry
@@zzasdfwas How did he "incriminate" himself? For saying he has "skills to kill"?
You do know all living have the capacity to kill, it's not a hard thing to do, & some actually do receive training or for whatever reason have strange interest in knowing how to do so quickly & more efficiently & take it on themselves to learn such things. Many veterans (depending what they were train for) & folks apart of militia groups, security or bodyguard work, former cops, etc. all these individuals "have aquired skills to kill". I have "some" knowledge & skills to kill. *be it known I'm a veteran & also one those people who have that strange interest in knowing where on the human body to go for- in the event I'm attack- to eliminate (permanently) a nut who may attack me as quickly & efficiently as I can.
Having such knowledge & skills doesn't incriminate those who have it, it's not like such knowledge or acquiring the skills is some top secret info only select few can aquire.
This female cop is unbelievably inept. I hope she isn't still doing this job.
Or hopefully she is getting better training. Remember they act that way to rile a reaction from the suspects.
Agreed she was so bad at her job
They always are
For real. Look at the dates. 1/2 - initial interview with Helen. 1/3 - They rush out and arrest Milton with no real evidence other than he said/she said. 1/20 - They finally release Milton after Helen admits she lied. @crazyinsanepenguin They mean Milton. A victim of false imprisonment.

The guy who was falsely imprisoned didn’t die though?
So he could sue?
I knew Helen was lying right from the start because for a nurse's aide not knowing what to do upon finding her boyfriend unconscious is VERY suspicious. Calling her mom and god knows who else before calling 911? Even more suspicious. Oh, and poor Milton should sue somebody for those 17 days of false imprisonment he suffered. He won't be getting 25 million but he should get at least something.
Very true. I'm a CNA and the CPR course is mandatory.

That WAS super sus, wasn't it. I gave her the benefit of the doubt because sometimes people do panic and blank on easy information they should know, but that was still weird, since nurses still typically are involved in high stress situations. Once she started changing her story, talking about calling her mom before, I already knew. She did some good acting in the beginning though, I'll give her that.
@rangedeliveryn TRUE, but nevertheless they violated his civil rights. $10,000 min. Better housing.
The fact that they didn’t confirm that she 100% heard his voice before jailing him and treating him like a criminal is insane
Detective Lorna Garcia of Des Moines Iowa police. She had the audacity to go on the Oxygen channel show "Snapped" and acted like she was a mastermind on this case, when of course we can see her laugh at and jail an innocent man. Thankfully she is a community liasion officer now and not a homicide detective.
Crazy. I wonder how many other innocent people get locked up from the true killers crocodile tears. Scary
Many such cases
It's not insane. It's detectives tunnel vision. It happens everyday. I feel bad for Milton. He told them the truth over and over but they kept hounding him that he wasn't being truthful. He should have offered to take a polygraph. Also the female detective laughing at Milton was totally unprofessional!
the sadder part is there are millions of Milton's sitting in jail right now, because detectives take the first blak man they can.@@heathermcgrath22
Does Village inn not have cameras? Could they not have shown Milton walking in and out of the hotel, and do the places he said he went to eat also not have cameras?
I like how the only interview so far in this channel that is aggresive and disrespectful towards the suspect is the only one where the suspect is innocent, while on the other hand all the other interviews where the suspects are 100% guilty they get better treatment than 5 star hotels.
So they had Milton in jail based on no evidence except Helen’s word but Helen tells lie after lie and she’s loose on the street to go missing for a while. What a complete shambles and violation of Milton’s rights. Those detectives were hopeless.
A witness is good enough to get u held over... That's just one part of actually being charged for something. The grand jury and d.a, etc. People handle the accusation and evidence before someone's indicted. I've been taken to the precinct and readied for a county trip only to have the prosecutions office call and say that they're not "comfortable" charging me with what's on the table.
A single witness testimony is enough to hold someone in jail but not enough to convict someone.
Milton should’ve sued the city!
Get these detectives docked pay mate. I ent a detective and could tell within 5 mins of watching Milton was innocent.
Hopeless? Docked pay? They should have their credentials stripped and be imprisoned!! And a 1983 claim filed

“We have proof.” You have hearsay sir.
In certain states in the US and countries police officers and investigators are allowed to lie to the person in question. It's a way to get them to confess. It's actually quite fascinating to see how they turn the tables on people,by lying to them the way they were lied to just to get them to confess about what they did.
@@mackenzierobertson9725Legit, I think that stuff should be illegal as you're basically manipulating the person into a position, and if the person is not able to process it, they will find the easiest path which is to go with whatever the detectives are saying.

Exactly! They say that and push that idea, so they can continue to put folks in jail with no evidence!! Then, folks who have never dealt with the Police believe that attitude is the right one, and convict. It’s sickening, just how easy you can be locked up for life with no evidence. Juries don’t base anything on fact, but they side with whoever puts on the best show in court. 🤦🏾♀️ We’re living amongst mindless zombies who refuse to think for themselves. That’s why I always tell my children, don’t give em an opportunity to suspect you. Amen, young man! Don’t ever speak to the Police without an Attorney. Ever!!!
Exactly. Imagine a situation in this case. The true murderer. Lies, contradicts herself all the time. But is free to go everywhere. Even dodging police. Even after they know she is 99% the murderer, but they just need the motive behind it, the let her run free. Milton, did NOTHING wrong. Stick to the true story. Was honest. Was direct. Was not in any way suspicious. The only word was the one of the partner of the victim, saying he was it, while the partner normally is the first suspect. With one call to the Sister the victim, they could have contradicted Helen, that she was not on good terms with the victim. With one fucking call. But imagine her running free all time, while lying and contradicting herself. And Milton, haven't done anything wrong at all, being in jail for 17 days. It's disgusting. So much prejudice, because he is a homeless black male. This detective should be fired honestly. Or at least go back to detective school. This was absolutely a disgrace.
Its saddening how quickly they “discarded” Milton's words, whether they were judging by his circumstances, which if that was the case that is extremely unprofessional on the detectives behalf and should get their status revoked, dectectives like this are the reason why so many innocent are accused guilty.
Completely agree. They should have grilled Helen. As an eyewitness, she should have had clear details of what happened.

It's called Judging. When Adonai Yeshua HaMessiah (Jesus Christ to most) is not part of your daily doings this is the outcome.
So, now you understand that people of Adonai should not be judgemental because they should ALWAYS inquire (like about who to marry) of Adonai about anything, even if it seems trivial.
Those that make assumptions without inquiring of Adonai Yeshua HaMessiah are liars and the truth is not in them.

My stomach was churning. So horrible
Exactly... it was so obvious Helen was lying, and certainly obvious that Milton was never there that day... yet these detectives, with zero evidence, just assumed Helen's story was fact and throw poor Milton in jail solely on her story... INFURIATING!

The sad reality is cases like this happen all the time. There's usually pressure to wrap up cases as quickly as possible and move on to the next one. People get falsely accused all the time and sent to jail based on nothing more than witness testimony. All the more reason to never talk without a lawyer. And this is still happening in the days of forensics and DNA evidence. You can imagine how many innocent people have likely been jailed in the past when that stuff wasn't available.
