Definitely! Or even, we don't actually have enough just yet to get beyond reasonable doubt so if you admit it, we've got you. Seen this technique used when there's minimal evidence, definitely not enough to convict and then the person convicts themselves essentially. Should always, every time, no matter what, have a lawyer with you.

I'm 67 and after living in Jacksonville Florida and dealing with the police here I am terrified of them. I've seen what they can do and I've always had a fear that somehow I would be falsely accused of a crime I did not commit. Once I was arrested for a hit-and-run and I refuse the breathalyzer. Knowing I didn't hit anybody and I was in the exact spot of where the accident happened I asked them how could you say Iran when I'm right here. The lawyer said the smartest thing I did was not take the breathalyzer. When the man came out of ICU he admitted to attempted suicide by running in front of my car after his girlfriend broke up with him. They tried to coerce him into saying that I hit him and he refused to lie. I was riding down a side road after leaving the mall. There were witnesses that said they saw me come out of a bar nearby and several other witnesses that said they saw me doing different things. The thing was all of these witness stories we're all opposite of each other and didn't make any sense at all.. a lot more to that story. Thank God that man lived. Even saying I was coming out of the bar didn't make sense since it was ahead of me in the direction I was going and not beside or behind me. I was found innocent but unfortunately it remains on my record and anytime a background check is done that pops up. It ruined my career.. as a younger woman in her twenties I would have cops pulled me over and try to get my phone number of all. Even one that got my address used to come around to my house all the time and I had to find ways of getting him to leave me alone I was so scared.

There's even other experiences with the police officers a lot more than I mentioned. I bet you don't believe that that man who was actually filmed being killed by a police officer is real. Absolutely, buddy! You hit the nail on the head! Body language is super important, especially in situations like being interrogated by a detective. It's not just about tricking you into telling the truth, those sneaky detectives also keep a keen eye on your body language.
When you're being grilled by a detective, they scrutinize every little movement, gesture, and change in your body language. They're like human lie detectors, trying to read between the lines and see if your non-verbal cues match up with what you're saying.
Now, you might be wondering, what exactly do they look for? Well, let me spill the beans for you! One of the things detectives pay attention to is eye contact. They want to see if you maintain direct eye contact or if you avoid it like the plague. Avoiding eye contact can be a potential sign that you're feeling insecure, guilty, or uncomfortable. On the flip side, maintaining steady eye contact can show confidence and honesty.
But that's not all! Detectives also focus on your facial expressions. They're like mind readers trying to figure out what's going on in that brain of yours. They notice if your facial muscles tense up, if your eyebrows furrow, or if your lips twitch while you're answering their questions. These micro-expressions can give away your true emotions, even if you're trying to conceal them. So, no poker face is going to fool these savvy investigators!
Now, let's talk about those fidgety gestures. Detectives are always on the lookout for any fidgeting or nervous movements. If you're tapping your foot, biting your nails, or continuously shifting in your seat, it sets off alarm bells in their heads. These behaviors hint at anxiety, uneasiness, or dishonesty. So, it's best to keep those jittery movements in check and appear as relaxed as possible.
Oh, and we can't forget about the famous "body language clusters." Detectives often notice a combination of body language signals instead of focusing on just one. They look at how your body posture aligns with your facial expressions and gestures. If everything seems out of sync, it sends red flags flying high. It's like putting together a puzzle for them. And trust me, you don't want to be the missing piece they're trying to find!
But wait, there's more! Detectives also analyze your voice and speech patterns. They listen carefully to the tone of your voice, the speed at which you speak, and any hesitations or inconsistencies in your story. A shaky voice or sudden changes in speech patterns might raise suspicions about your credibility.
So, when you find yourself facing a detective firing questions at you, it's essential to be aware of your body language. Remember to maintain eye contact without staring them down, control those facial muscles to keep a neutral expression, and keep those fidgety movements in check. And for heaven's sake, buddy, don't forget to speak confidently and remain consistent in your story!
Now, I don't want you to start sweating bullets and overanalyzing every single move the next time you encounter a detective. It's not like you have to become a contortionist or a master of disguise to pass their body language test. Just be aware of these things and try to exude confidence and honesty.
At the end of the day, detectives are only human too, and they rely on their instincts and experience. Body language is just one part of the puzzle for them when they're trying to piece together what really went down. So, keep your cool, buddy, and remember that the truth will always find its way out, regardless of your body language!

And if she just did what any rational person should have done at that point, i.e. refuse to answer questions, (because you really dont know what the police is after, and especially if you really dont know shit, but they assume you do, being helpful is actually against your own interest), that would be the end of that interrogation. If you can leave, leave at any point

The cops had me in squad car with another witness to bring us to the precinct to look at mugshots, etc. A third "witness" was put in the back seat with us that I knew was one of the murderers - the other witness knew too, and he was sticking his fingers in her side to silently threaten as he she made him. I kept quiet until when we got to the precinct and told the dt right away - it was wild - a few weeks later, I was in a prelaw class and my professor recognized my voice from my witness interview-he was the homicide deputy chief...the guy - and his 4 accomplices - took a plea to avoid dp

Once they give you compliments just ask for a lawyer. But well done by these detectives. The rocking back and forth looked like a low grade panic attack, that was interesting to see an alleged murderer crumble like that.

That rocking is definitely her tell. How can you have any empathy with a fellow ‘human’ being when they themselves use their own free will to act like ruthless animals? It’s convinced me not to care or have any empathy because that would be considered weakness to these animals. I get why Scott Adams would take the hit and be the first one through the door that these animals created and opened themselves.

Yeah, she starting rocking when she realized she said too much. A lot of ppl do that when they're really anxious & their nerves are getting the best of them. It's self soothing, but in this case, I don't think it helped her too much. I've never seen anyone do that in circles, though. It was pretty strange lol.

@@ashleyw6160 I wonder if she’s like somewhat autistic with that type of soothing? It was super intense she was almost spinning too. Black (girl) kids are so undiagnosed… would also explain why she was easy to convince to follow her cousin. Hmm not that it’s ok but still interesting how it all went down and the interrogation!!!

Sure, that is the reason no one not a single person will say they saw murder if it happend in poor countries because they know very well many many innocen people who reported a crime themselves got into troube. I knew a man who was on the run from his enemies for forty years. His enemies had hired assasin and they got him while he was bathing in the river outside the village and there were at least 40 people who saw it all but not a single person gave an interview to the police because they knew it can tbe them rather than the lady setting here ha ha ha ha ha ha.
