Old? Charlie was 59. He was definitely rough around the edges to look like that at 59...especially when you consider the photo of him used in this video had Rex in it, which suggests that he was in his mid-50s when it was taken. His age doesn't make the crime less abhorrent and evil. I'm just saying that the dude looked like he was just a couple years shy of 100, which is weird af.

For real, when it's this obvious that their actions made a huge difference, they SHOULD get a medal! The more positive attention we give to the good guys, the more motivated we all become to BE the good guys! I used to work with women coming out of prison, if they got attention for their volunteer work, it sped up their desire to be seen as positive helping people in the community after their release. It works on all of us!

Paul Runge was an "interesting" choice of serial killer for Rex to befriend and idolize. Runge's wife, Charlene, is thought to have participated in at least two of his murders, and likely helped to lure other victims to her husband. Sadly, Charlene received immunity for her testimony against Paul, even though she was, imo, almost as evil as Paul. It seems like Rex fancied Amanda as his Charlene - a comparison that Amanda must have perversely relished and embraced. I've no doubts that she would've helped Rex kill numerous people, had he not done the world a favor by killing himself.

@djkinetic2020 No offence but you don't know what Hell is like. 'IF' it exists the only ones who do know are dead. I'm an Atheist and don't believe in such things as Heaven or Hell. There 'existence' is used by organised religion to control people. You can find Heaven or Hell in life. If there is such a thing as life after death i believe it's more likely that we'll exist as sentient energy without a form. Akin to sci-fi films where minds are downloaded into cyberspace. That 'may' be possible one day but after death it's more likely that we exist as sentient energy that can explore time and space. It's either that or eternal nothingness. But nobody knows!!

@@LilyAmongThorns hell is a Christian fairytale that was copied over from other religions to integrate them better, like they copied many other things. Even if you're a Christian, it's still a fairytale, it's not even mentioned in the Bible, except some later translations when it was more ingrained in the culture. And those translations describe "dark underground places" and "fire", the whole "separation from God" idea is very recent and has even less basis, it's just a popular new talking point for the Church.
Hell is not what you think it is, either.

She talked about harming the kids-the friend told her parents+ the parents went through with keeping the kids with them. 2. That is completely pseudoscience and there's no factual evidence that Amanda wasn't nervous. She probably was nervous. Only she knows what she's feeling or thinking. All this body language stuff is completely inaccurate because people do the same gestures for many different reasons. It's like you're psychic or something knowing what someone is feeling or thinking by how a person moves. 🤦🏻‍♀️

There was a time when EWU was making content that was met with mixed reactions from the corner of UA-cam watching niche true crime/-adjacent channels. And the internet being the internet, I remember seeing both hate comments about the video’s format, content, or script writing and, occasionally, actually helpful suggestions. Rather than be discouraged, which I know I would have been, the EWU team just came back better and better each time. I remember when I would only click on an EWU video if I’d already reached the bottom of whatever true crime rabbit hole I’d fallen down. Now, I’m subscribed to multiple of their channels, get notifications, watch all of their videos, see a new video notification and click IMMEDIATELY. Kudos, EWU team. Thank you for your incredible content, even then, and especially now.

I agree with you as initially I found the EWU channel used to rely a little heavily on theatrical drama and attempting to create suspense and tension - not terrible but not quite my thing. After recently watching an EWU video I was pleasantly surprised and impressed with the new, straightforward format, comprehensive coverage indicating in-depth coverage. It seems rather than get upset they used the feedback and criticism they received in order to improve their channel. Kudos

"I don't want, not like, I mean, in a cell. Will I be alone? I can't --" You can't what? The audacity. Doesn't have the gall to end herself, but no hesitation about others. Makes me sick.

It’s phenomenal in cases like this how often the suspects will follow a subconscious pattern. Claim to have blacked out, try to convince detectives the victim wanted to die, recount everything in detail after claiming to have blacked out.

Someone close to me, Krystal Mitchell, was murdered. Watching videos from this channel, it makes me wonder what kinds of things her killer said during interrogation and if I’ll ever see the footage. The EWU Team does a great job so I’m sure it would be done well. That’s one thing you provide the families of the victims: respectfully-presented information. Some of the news outlets were a bit…salacious in the report, giving me horrible mental images for the sake of…I’m not really sure. Casual readers weren’t bettered for that knowledge, either.
I’m so glad you include interviews and updates not found in the interrogation footage. Makes EWU a cut above the rest

If you *really* wanted to know you can request that information (it's called discovery and depending on state can include everything from interrogation tapes to autopsy reports... NOT that you'd want that.
If the crime happened in Florida, it will be extremely easy (but you'll have to pay a fee, so if u are broke, not *that* easy). Other states will vary in difficulty. I heard some states will only provide you with a transcript and not the actual video footage...but again, you will have to pay a fee for it. Google it if serious. I think you'll have to fill out a FOIA request tho, not sure.
I wish I could give you the specifics, but if you are THAT curious, there may be a way. Not sure if you'll walk away the better for it tho.

If she wants the death penalty, might as well set her up with it. Prisoners that are sentenced to death typically spend more than a decade waiting for it to be carried out, which is torture in itself.

Thank you for telling a more accurate portrayal of her crimes. I have known Rex and Amanda my whole life (before Rex ever met her). The story is tragic, he was using drugs when we were 12. Amanda was a user and a liar and stole from and hurt everyone in her path, hence her apology for her mom. I warned people, but not one listened. I am so tired of people saying she did it for her husband- but in reality they split months prior to his death and she refused to let him see or speak with his children. Also, big mistake: image was Allen, his grandpa, not Charlie.
