A little late to the party. Awesome video, but I absolutely love my 48. Different rides for different riders. I personally love the vibration and the rumble I get when at a stop light. Also, the 48 doesn’t like being lower in the rpm range. It definitely likes being revved out. Nice bike dude. Ride safe and enjoy!
Thanks for watching. In my opinion I think the Indian is better. More bang for the buck. I've noticed the HD are getting pricier with nothing new to the table other than keyless ignition. I enjoy my Indian Scout Bobber.
@@apexofrandomvidz I agree totally with you Indian bobber all the way I bought mine two years ago an have loved every minute of owning it, threw exhaust and a better seat and been riding all over with no trouble
@@Lonewolf23-26 Thanks for watching. I was hypnotized by the HD brand and it was my first bike. I didn't know any better. Which exhaust did you get? I just installed my Vance and Hines, video will be up by the end of the week;
@@apexofrandomvidz I bought the rcx exhaust and it sounds great but I wouldn’t suggest it if you have neighbors you like! 😆 thankfully I don’t have neighbors to close
Had several Harleys-Sportsters, and big twins. Then in 2018 I bought a Scout. Motor and trans, super smooth and the bike was fast. But it was the most uncomfortable bike i ever rode. Got a 2019 Triumph SS900, which was super fun to go on dirt roads with and modified, was pretty quick and loud. Sold it and got a Triumph 400 to be able to ride off-road a bit more. Nice bike. But you find, if you have been around bikes a while (55 years for me) that one bike doesn't cut it. For one the 400 is quiet and trying to make any sound out of it, would be irritating. So i went back to my Harleys and got a 48. It's loud, vibrates, gearbox is chunky.....and I love it. I'm not commuting on it. Another thing is millions of parts are available for it, to customize the way i want it, which is what i am doing. I will probably never be without a Sportster in the stable ever again. Nothing like its simple, raw feel.
After doing my ride and testing out the Scout, I do enjoy it better that the Sportster I used to own. What I am missing is the exhaust....it is coming. Stay tuned.
I put the crusher exhaust on mine. I broke a clutch lever wire the other day and it broke right at the clutch lever. Just popped the stop right off the end.
It's been a few years now with my Indian and I still do not regret it. The new ones of course are more advanced with features, but they are great machines. See my other video is you're thinking about changing the exhaust. Thanks for watching.
beware at intersections and yield the right of way if push comes to shove, because on a bike! you will end up losing. stay safe and ride responsibly always. may you have many good yrs of happiness with your bikes.
I know this is late , great video comparison. I just went to the HD dealer and they wanted to sell me a 883 for 18k. Went to indian and I was getting the scout with more features for cheaper. Indian is the way to go, although Harley is coming out with some interesting new bikes such as the sportster S and the nightster. I still choose Indian . Blessings brother 🙏
Awesome, yeah I learned the hard way. The Indian was a bit advance than the HD when I got it. HD was my first bike so I went with what I thought was the "best". Even the new Indians coming out are technological more advance than HD. I installed slip ons on mine, video is up if you want to hear how it sounds. Thank for watching, ride safe
I'm located in Texas. That's a good price, I don't think I've ever seen a price like that for HD. I believe mine was closer to 15k. I have some merch from HD if interested. Have him ride safe.
I am a bit scared of starting on the 48 or the scout. How did you manage to start on the 48? I have never ridden before. I am leaning towards the scout though and don't want the scout 60 and sell it after 6 months.
In my opinion, the 48 is easier than the Indian. The Indian has more power. Although it does feel smoother so you don't really "feel" it. The 48 was my first bike ever, I was just really careful until I got used to riding more around cars and so forth. I do agree to not get the 60. Thanks for watching
I know the 48 comes short in performance but I love mine. The sound, looks and the feel of it riding is something I really enjoy. Also the customization choices it has for it is a plus. I rode a scout bobber and it was sold for 13k and my 48 I got for 6k so I went with the cheaper option too (which last I checked harleys are usually more expensive)
Couldn't agree more! These are cruiser, not dragsters you know. I use mine for riding around town and errands. I don't expect to go across the country and keep up with 1000cc.
Bro Im on the same situation, I have the same exact Forty eight, color and everything, Ive been thinkibg about switcing for one of these indian bobbers, how dou you feel till this day witu the change? No regrets?
I have zero regrets. The Harley was my first bike but had no emotional attachment to it. The Indian has better performance and better than my Harley. Of course in my situation it was close apples to apples comparison.
@@apexofrandomvidz I heard the indian its kinda uncomfortable because of the position, and its very low, Im fraid of hitting bumpers pretty bad, would you say it was a real improvement over the Harley? And the last thing worries me about bro haha its the passenger, its kinda a small bike for two people doesnt it?? Thanks for the reply
I don't ride with passengers and have no experience in that aspect. What do you mean by hitting bumpers? The improvements in my experience, were smoother, better handling, power, acceleration and looks. If you're a tall guy then yes it may be uncomfortable because the handle bars are low. If you raise the bar then your back won't be slouching over too much. Indian has a new motorcycle that has the bars raised with a bigger front wheel.
On Scout, seat and rear suspension worse. Everything else way better. Winner Scout by far. Harleys are for those who are interested in the cache name and status, and the sound maybe. I’d rather have the performance of the Scout.
Thanks for watching. I can agree with the seat, but rear suspension Indian is better. I usually take the same route on my rides and there is a train tracks crossing. I feel less of a bump and shake when I go over it.
@@apexofrandomvidz yes I did actually try I actually had to back out of it because there was too much traffic it was a great ride and there was still not a buttload of vibrations coming through I love my Scout and try to ride it everyday!!! My only upgrades are a Crusher exhaust.
Late on my comment- I own a 22 scout rogue 60, exhaust - it halls ass compared to the 883- with the stage 1 it is comparable to the scout reg, very torque for a small v twin
Idk diff 'tween Scout Bobber, Scout 60, Scout Rogue, etc. I've heard the Scout 60 will actually run off from a Sportster 1200. I've had 2 1200s, would like another, but perhaps the 60 if it's a better option. I'm ignorant of Indian bikes. Supposedly the Victory Octane 1200 would DESTROY the 1200 Sporty.
Indian has two beginning platforms. Scout 60 and and Scout. Scout has the higher engine and sixty has the lower engine power. Within the Scout lineup there's Bobber which is just a "style" and how it looks but no change within the power. The Scout Rogue is just a Scout but has the "cool" features like the higher bars, the fairing and aggressive stance. If it doesn't say Sixty on the tank then you have a Scout with the bigger engine.
