It's so great to hear and see Brandi getting the recognition she deserves. She is such a great songwriter and singer. We need more music like this. It reminds me of singers like Joni Mitchell.

Agreed. Fell in love with her voice way back when her song " The Story" was used by Frontline ( I think) promotions. And her unique voice and musical talent still prevail in my heart to this day.
Btw, my favorite male artist is the Kazakh Dimash Qudaibergen. So much to admire there!

@@MrsCrazyrange I get both sides of this. I think he's referring to mainstream music. Yes there will ALWAYS be great new music. But Brandi is one of the few great ones that still stays relevant in the mainstream somewhat.

Seen her twice. She's beyond Amazing. One was in a small building and she did a lot of it acoustic. So glad to see how big she has become. She deserves it. She's beautiful with a beautiful soul.

I had the privilege of seeing her live in an open concert arena a few years ago, along with Elle King, Heart, and Emmylou Harris and she Really stole the show, even though I'm a Huge Heart fan. It was one of the Best nights of my life! "The Story" is still my favorite song by her and was also the one that made me realize her talent and I've loved her ever since! She is Absolutely Amazing!

This is definitely one of my 3 Favorite performances at the Grammy Awards 2022! This performance is just hauntingly beautiful! The other one is Cold by Chris Stapleton and 3rd is Lady Gaga's tribute to Tony Bennett, a year before he had passed! What an unforgetable year!!

I so agree Jen. I saw Brandi a few years back. Chills every time I hear her. It was an outdoor concert, and the audience around me, mostly wonderful gals were just the nicest people to be around that evening. (I'm a gay guy, 71, there with my best female friend of 60 some odd years. On my bucket list.

When introducing the song "The Mother" in every venue she mentions them. It is important for people to know that we have families too and have every right to exist just like any other family. We are no longer okay being dismissed or passed over.
It's great that you appreciate her "tremendously gorgeous voice", so do I and I'm sure she would humbly take the compliment. In future please don't be dismissive of others differences. We are all different, we're supposed to be, it creates a healthy gene pool. And makes things interesting.

If one sees people that are similar to them, whatever similarity that my be, it validates and legitimizes their existence. I'm going to assume, based on your name and the tone of your comment, that you identify as a straight white male. How would you feel if you never saw another representation of a straight white male anywhere? Not on TV, movies, music, your work environment, etc. Most people would feel different and alone, maybe even left out.
It is not all about "sexual preference", the correct term is "sexual orientation" BTW. We are all what we are and everyone needs to own that. The days of totting someone else's shame are over with. As a community we are no longer willing to carry the collective shame of every religion and/or belief system that says we are wrong to love someone of the some sex or gender.
You sir, are the reason we will not give it a rest. We do not wish to be pushed aside or hidden in a closet any longer. We want a seat at the table of humanity just like every other group that already has that seat.
In the furtherance of your understanding of Brandi's life and family I will tell you this, her wife is smoking hot gorgeous and their two daughters are just as beautiful as their two mothers.
I am in awe of her gorgeous voice....so powerful, yet vulnerable and emotional 💖 I get the chills every time I hear her lovely voice . She's definitely an amazing artist and it doesn't hurt that she's also a good person who puts her money, fame, and time into her non-profit Looking Out, helping marginalized people.
