Thank you for this video. Straight to the point, no fluff. Now I’m gonna go try it.
Thank you for your comment!
Great effort and thank you for the video! While it is not absolutely crucial, those Commanders take HOAT coolant, Mopar# 68048953AB / MS-9769G (it is pink in color), 5-year/100,000 mile. There is aftermarket HOAT coolant (hybrid organic acid technology) which ALOT of Jeep owners end up blending in with their factory coolant, (on account that Chrysler dealerships can charge $75 for a gallon.) The primary purpose of HOAT is it's additives for rust and corrosion resistance, namely for aluminum engine components...Mixing regular green antifreeze with your HOAT will alter the chemical structure and thereby reduce it's effectiveness...long term could possibly clog radiator passages, especially if Dexcool is added. I've seen it happen! Plus, I like to have to correct coolant installed for 1.) possible warranty standards 2.) Resale value 3.) It feels good to maintain the vehicle to it's factory specifications
I agree thanks for the step-by-step information on changing the thermostat in a 2006 or 2007 Commander
One of best videos I have watch so far to work on my Jeep thanks!!!!
dont forget to properly bleed the system with the screw on top of the upper radiator hose outlet. its a large allen head.
Joshua Acosta when do you do this process, I'm bout to change my thermostat
hello my name is Angela can you help with the issue i posted please.
What is the correct way to use the Allen head screw, when bleeding the system. I changed my water pump and radiator and I can’t get the air out system. After a day of driving or so the check engine light will come on and throw code p0303 and than there will be a lot of bubbles in the over flow jug.
Great little video thank you!!
great video, thank you
I don't know if I should listen to a guy that doesn't even know what kind of antifreeze to put in
Thank you very much Edgar...
Sick thanks dude
It's funny how you say to disconnect the negative terminal on the battery, but you disconnected the positive one.
I learned that the hard way when I was young man put to much sealant and gummed up my Radiator learning experience be safe brother
Thanks you. Good effort
+TheToysforboys Thank you for comment!
Thank you kindly for the great information & step by step instructions.🤘🏼
Do they require you to use didtilled water? I hear about a lot of commanders overheating. Apears to be a major issue.
Did you remove your thermostat before pouring in the blue devil?
I could just listen to this cat talk all day.
Is this the 5.7 hemi ?
Do u drain the whole system?
Great video. Is there a gasket that goes In between the thermostat housing and the motor. Thank you
It should be on the thermotat itself.
Thanks for watching
Yes it has a gasket. He failed to mention it in the video.
there is another problem jeeps take G07 coolant and you can use the bleeder allen bolt on the top
I have an 06 jeep commander as well. At first the ac started blowing regular temperature air, now the heater stopped blowing hot air as well, would these symptoms be indicative of a bad thermostat? The blower motor still functions
+rjay2082
1. Check coolant level.
2. Check system for air.
3. Replace thermostat.
4. Clean heater core.
5. Replace water pump.
That is what I would do.
rjay2082 the thermostat in this video is for the engine (temperature only) this does not have anything to do with the ac/ heater the ac/ heater is a hole other system by its self
I don't think is the coolant or the thermostat, in my experience when blows cold even when car is already warm, the problem I think its the a/c door actuator, is located under the dash and very easy to fix
where is the door actuator located. My heat is blowing cold and my ac is blowing normal air not cold. I was about to change my thermostat,
@@guillermosantana1893 I think if thermostat sticks closed, this does not allow water into the heads, causing overheating and will also effect the temperature of the heater. The heater gets its heat from water passing thru the heads. I am not 100% sure of this tho.
Holy shit.
Why disconnect the battery when you just replacing a thermostat? People starting to do that when even replacing windshield wiper blades 😂😂😂😂
hello my commander is saying transmission overflow, can you please help me please, should i change my thermostat.
You mean Bolts not screws, also I hope you flushed the engine prior to installing the new thermostat because the blue devil destroys motors when used incorrectly
Your supposed to remove the thermostat for blue devil lol
Using the wrong type of antifreeze is the reason your thermostat became plugged in the first place. Then you added the wrong type again when you were done. Flush out the green stuff and replace with the correct HOAT antifreeze. Then purge the air out from the bleeder on the engine at the top radiator hose. Why post a video if you really do not know what you are doing?
