I bought this plane from BG and its the worst quality I have ever seen
on a model. Nothing was glued, screw were not secured (all loose), plane
and wing distorted/warped and motor and esc where distroyed on the
first flight (on 3 s). Avoid! After a few hours of work with all the
issues and replacement of motor and esc it flew well. Still - would not
    buy again regardless of cost.

Wow, that's totally different from the model I received. This is a 2S not a 3S model. Also, the majority of reviews and UA-cam videos I've seen favor this plane, so I'm surprised. I did have the gyro start malfunctioning, rudder sticks full-on after stick is released. But I don't use the gyro, so it's OK for me for an RTF at the price point. I like the way it flys. I have had previous Volantex models, most but not all of which had no or tiny issues. Sorry you got a bad individual model.

@@copterscrawlersplanesrcpac9225 Lets hope so. Its cheap, but still ;) BG recommends 3s batteries in the docs.

@@TheRogeberg Hmmm, I just went through my manual for the plane, no mention of 3s capability anywhere in the manual I got with my model. BG must have posted some bad info. Still, all the other issues you mentioned were highly legitimate complaints. Definitely bummed you got such a poor model.

@@TheRogeberg Not any more. PNP version documentation mid 2021 now stipulates 2S.

Bought one of these from BG recently. IME, from the tenor of his jaded hyperbole the OP was either the unluckiest buyer in the world, or his expectations unrealistic. Hey, it's a Volantex model not Multiplex. So what can we reasonably expect for ¼ the price of the latter. My PhoenixS was well packed internally, received with no damage. Good EPO, as one might expect straight out of the the mould. Everything listed was included. The stock motor, ESC and prop spinner supplied are adequate to power this model. It's a glider not an acro. The manual now stipulates 2S on the front page. In any case if wanting to use 3S, easily accomplished without destroying motor or ESC by downsizing to a 9x5 GEMFAN folder from AE. Everything installed was installed adequately.
Issues? Decals in mine weren't die-cut adequately as well as lifting of the sheet at intervals as well making neat application a PITA. But hey, for the pittance paid I'm not complaining. Wasn't keen on the new interference fit control horns supplied with this model, but they work - the rudder one being too short for the control surface width and subsequently a PITA to fit notwithstanding.
Regardless, all in all this model is an easy, quick assembly which with a couple of inexpensive minor mods, e.g. hinge tape, or additions i.e. remove and replace the supplied single channel aileron splitter extension with two extensions for spoilerons and mixing, Volantex's PhoenixS 1600 polishes up into a very good flyer in class for an absurdly low price.
