Just purchased one of these. I had an escale electraglide a few years back that could stay up for 1/2 an hour on a 2s 1500 but it was taken out by a myopic nitro flyer when I was landing. Having flown a 2.4 phoenix which just lumbered about the sky I totally agree about smaller sport gliders being more fun to fly. Also have a u glider and a umx conscendo. Scale stuff is good to see but gliders are definetly more interesting to fly with the various soaring opportunities. Good videos and you always sound like you are having fun. 👍
I'm glad you got one and thanks for the kind words. It's a fine flying sport glider and fairly aerobatic on 3S. I think you're going to really like this PhoenixS. I need to take my sport gliders out again as soon as I get caught up on all my projects. Sorry to hear about the electraglide. I've heard the umx conscendo is a great flying micro sport glider. I always have fun and I think this is the best hobby ever ;-) See you in the Air!
Yes! I'm loving this Sport Glider. Now I'm just waiting on my Metal Allow Spinner Assembly and New Folding Props to arrive so I can put a 4S in it ;-) Much Fun! See you in the Air!
@@Doggeslife Hehehe...that's what I have on the Conscendo Evolution and it's a blast! No Helmet required ;-) I wouldn't trust the stock plastic spinner and prop assembly with 4S Power. See you in the Air!
I'm definitely hooked and will always have at least 1 in my inventory. I can't wait to get this one setup for a 4S LIPO. A Metal Alloy Spinner and Prop Assembly are on the way with various size folding props to test. Awesome! See you in the Air!
Amazing how it flies so lofty and fast after holding it and feeling the heft that it has. Great show, making some very nice moves too, noway Man? Unreal stuff GCRC. Mine isn't as good at Hotdogging as Yours, Aahhahaha!!
Thanks Jono! I'm glad you suggested this glider, absolutely fantastic. I can't wait for my Metal Alloy Spinner and Props to arrive so I can put a 4S in it ;-) See you in the Air!
Beautiful video I have two models of this Volantex ! One like yours from this video and another 2x1 wing smaller and bigger as you wish I never flew either of the two more now seeing your beautiful video made me want to fly embrace of Brazil my brother good flights .
Thank You Much Marco! Awesome flying Sport Glider. I just received a new motor for this one so hopefully I'll be flying it on 4S. I'm looking forward to getting it back out for a flight. See you in the Air!
If you like to fly, motor gliders have the most purposeful airframe of all. Once you get a handle on it, clip the feathers and wings and you'll have a pylon racer.
I used the RacerStar 4023 1050kv Motor. It mounted right up on the shaft end. I would have used the 850kv with a larger folding prop but it was out of stock. It's in stock now. www.banggood.com/custlink/GGvPlqrMKf
I actually had the first version i loved to fly 10 plus years ago..i got stupid with it one time and did a 60 mph nose dive straight into the ground...i actually fixed it ,but finally retired it..than i built another kit version in 2018 and flew it a few times..but its been sitting looking pretty for a while...these are very nice airframes and can be controlled very precise in flying....i cant remember what motor or prop is on mine currently so i want to ask you about that racestar motor you purchased i saw your partial review on bg...you said the stock 4023 1050kv motor was out of balance . .did you replace it and get good results with 1040 850 kv racestar? I actually want to stay with 3s so the 1050 kv is the motor i prefer ..anyway i do get great performance out of the motor i use know, but it just gets way to hot for my liking...thanks again.
Yeah, I lost one of my gliders by losing it in the Sun. I just hate those types of mistakes. It's a great flying glider. I had the exact same problem with the RacerStar Motor as I had with the Stock Volantex Motor. They look identical, and I'm not sure who actually manufactures those motors, but they both had a vibration harmonic on 4S at around 60-70% throttle. Poor balancing at the factory I'm guessing. They're fine on 3S though so I'm flying it on 3S.
Yes i will stay 3s...i actually can fit my 4500mah 60c in mine nicely...but even with all the way back to where it hits interior servo tray cg is about 1/2 forward...i may just add some tail weight and try...thanks for the information...😊

I am a beginner to RC planes. I now to fly quads. Can you guide me where to connect the ELRS Receiver to in this plane as it has no FC.
You will have to add a gyro or flight controller if you want to use an a single wire ELRS RX or you can use a PWM ELRS RX.
