- In February Lead was stuck in house arrest in Area 18, followed by some EAC issues. Now it's been 10 months but we're back in the Verse to see what's new, what's old, and what is going on at IAE. If you read this far - yes we're giving a ship away too!

I can say that this year IAE I was most curious about the Spirit C1. Tested it out and flies really well. The tractor beam turret is a cool feature too. But only when standing next to it I could get the scale and realized how large the ship feels with the extra width in wings. Had to be more careful around hangar doors.
But also, the SRV interior is awesome. Argo just manages to make such cozy living quarters despite doing the heavy duty industrial ships.
I like the Argo "industrial" over the Drake "industrial"

So glad to see you're back! I've got to say, I was blow away by CIG's job on the Syulen. Especially the interior design. The textures and colors used look out of this world.
It certainly makes me rethink putting that cargo ship of the same race back into my fleet!

Welcome back! The syulin is such a nice ship and for me at least the vertical takeoff and landing was only a minor adjustment but i am not new to the game. Although even with my limited flight skills it was on the easy side to wrap your head around the challenge of a vertical ship in a world filled mostly with horizontal hangars
Good to have you back. You missed the Storm and Storm AA amid the new releases at the end. Those help skew the releases away from "backlog" to "in our hands" too. 😊
So i have had about the same amount of time off and you make some great point but i am more optimistic. The server way more stable 30k protection works and if the game crashed it took me right back to where i was before crashed just that is a massive improvement of life.
It isn't that I am not optimistic, but I want substance to their claims going forward for a while. I've had some solid server stability days, and some not-stable days where the "protection" didn't work. Many QOL improvements for sure, but like "normal" some pretty big QOL items that are no brainers and easy additions are still missing.
Welcome back! The C1 is... Crusader, so lots of space is wasted in the wings. Sadly. Makes it somewhat sensitive when landing in any hangar, as well as leads to a small internal volume. I got a CCU for it to replace my Cutty Black, sure, but what I'm waiting for is the Connie Taurus Junior, Zeus Mk II CL.
I agree on the landing cameras, wouldn't think that would be to tricky to implement.

That airlock door in the c1 (between the ramp and the cargo hold) should have a window in it, like on those old Firefly Haulers.
I'm glad you take the breaks from SC you need, when you need them. I tell a lot of other players that its ok to step away, and it should work for people who make content too. I appreciate your reasoned takes on the game, so when you feel the need to post a vid, I'll be here to watch!
Thanks! Unfortunately the way YT works breaks are generally death blows and regular posting keeps you afloat, even when there’s nothing of value to say. As my son gets older my time gets even more limited so I’ll keep making videos but I can’t promise the “once a week” I used to. The upside is a better balance to playing SC and really enjoying the game again.
LEADNAP! Great to see you back online. The SRV, like the Hull C, only has a placeholder game play (imo). I am excited about the Aarastra coming
I am excited for it to come out when it does, granted it'll be a loaner for my Orion. Doing a vid on it, not that I don't like it, but I feel like CIG really skimped on selling it.

Agree with all the thoughts on the C1. Ease of access, roomy, agile. Definitely feels like the Avenger Titan XL which I like!

Good to have you back! As a fellow crusader fanboy, I too am quite the fan of the Spirit lineup, and even CCU'd my only cutty to one - A sin to many citizens, I'm sure.
I think it’s better than the Cutty as well.

I'm liking the Syulen. I'm not an owner yet, but very tempted to upgrade my Cutter Scout seeing as the scanner gameplay is likely years away. I agree with you regarding the SRV. Waiting to be convinced this has a compelling reason to exist (right now it seems more likely to support pirate gameplay). As for the C1 Spirit, I was looking forward to seeing it in action. The 64 SCU buff was definately a bonus and the tractor beam is a great feature. However I'll be honest, the introduction of the Zeus Mk II has me distracted. Curious to hear your opinion on that concept...
I've not yet decided on that one, came during the "break" so I need to read up again on it. I love how it looks, but I am not sure we don't already have an oversaturation on that segment of ships.

We really do need a lot of quality of life additions to the PU. The landing camera you mentioned, plus the new mobiglas + apps, star-map, EVA 2.0 and the new interaction system.

The new alien ship is amazing, though I don't have one yet, just based on videos.
I just realised that i forget to test if the Syulen is capable to autolanding. ( "Hold N" ) I mean if it can that still makes things easyer. 🤔
Syulen is a really cool ship, but it needs a landing camera, etc

I never understand why people say the C1 is less protected, it's the same as a cutlass, at basically the same pricepoint, while having double the hull HP, same compared to the freelancer who always has as a selling point of having more shield, but less dps, that was it's selling point vs the cutlass.
You also have 33% more quantum fuel, which in stanton doesn't matter much, but we've been able to try Pyro now which is much bigger, it's clear now that the more QT fuel a ship can carry, the more independent it is in as it travels space.
It's just like the argo Raft compared to the hull A, the both do the same and the raft carries 33 more, has almost 3x the QT fuel, 15x the hydrogen fuel and 5x the shield but also double the size (way easier target) and 20% slower and 33% more expensive.
Besides looks matter, I really don't like the cutlass, and I dislike the freelancer cause of it's weird turret that's hard to get into if loaded, but as you mentioned I love the simplicity of the avenger and that's what the C1 feels like a big avenger, on the pricepoint of the cutlass/freelancer with similar qualities.
I think for anyone that has/likes the avenger and is looking to upgrade, but doesn't want to go all the way to something like a taurus or andromeda, the C1 is a much better middle of the way option.
The “argument” is the Cutty has more DPS and thus, for people who live and die by paper metrics, is the only way because “meta.” I strongly disagree with that line of thinking and your thought process is like mine.
@@Leadnap I see, I do indeed find that to be flawed logic, since that's not looking at the entire package, DPS won't matter much when you can't even find the target (due to bad radar or their stealth) or can't reach the target because you run out of fuel before you get there in a big system like Pyro.

If you're looking to buy an LTI token, do not buy this, currently the Cutter scout is still offered with LTI and 33% cheaper, for the purpose of buying a or multiple LTI tokens it serves the purpose better, at least in the sense of bang for your buck.
