    A D O R A B L E display of concepts and graphics as usual. Been a little minute since you amused your no. 1 Fan w/a video. So I've been consistently doing double-strand twists, oiling/reoiling, and covering up w/a satin hair-do protector at night. I sweat a lot during the summer and haven't particularly been moisturizing. I always relate moisturizers to skin, not hair, now I know. Anyways Thanx a Mil for another beautiful, encouraging, and educational video College Curl Queen.😉:)👍

      I’m glad you enjoyed this video ☺️💕 I have been slower on the uptake the past month with my video making, but I used the time to learn some new techniques that should have me being able to put out more content for you to enjoy at a more consistent rate 😊💪🏾 i can definitely see how it seems more linear to connect moisturizing with skin, so if it helps maybe you could try thinking of how for natural hair our strands are generally coarser with hard to penetrate cuticles - similar to skin in a way. Thank YOU for being a consistent and supportive subscriber 💕 Helps to keep me focused and inspired!

    I recommend a nighttime prep routine to minimize some of the work in the morning. Pineapples or scrunchie buns to preserve curls. Lay/smooth your edges and use a satin/silk tie to hold them in place. I'll add a small amount of leave in conditioner to my palm and just rub it through my curls before tucking them in. In the morning. I spray water on my curls to wake them up then add Leave in and Oil and style with my hands I never manipulate dry hair. I add a gel (Eco Styker or Wetline) to the ends to bring the curls back to life and to get rid of some of the frizz. I usually don' t need to do this until days 3 & 4, after that it's wash day again. I massage my scalp daily and I add Jamaican Castor Oil to my scalp for growth.

      I’m new to natural hair (1 month) so I’m still in the excited phase. The self inflicted damage from years of weaves put me under wigs for 2 years. Just a wash and conditioning produced amazing natural growth -12 inches!. (I stopped the “creamy crack” about 6 years ago.) my hair is thin (3B-3C) so wash day isn’t a chore. I enjoy taking care of my curls.
      I’m working on getting it fuller and longer. I take hair vitamins, I do fresh Aloe Vera conditioning treatments and massage JBCO daily. I’ll keep you posted

    This was one of the best videos I've seen. Too cute thanks. I have a question about the order of products layer. Should oil go on first or last after a wash?

    • @CollegeCurls
      @CollegeCurls  4 роки тому +1

      Thank you so much - I’m so glad you enjoyed it ! ☺️ And the order that the oil should be placed depends on your hair porosity. Low porosity hair does better with it placed second (after your water or leave in conditioner) and high porosity does better with it placed last as a sealing agent. If you’re not sure of your hair porosity, I would recommend just trying out both ways and seeing which ends up working best 💕

      Prepoo, shampoo, deep conditioner, cold acv rinse(1:7 acv to water ratio), rinse out with cold water, oil rinse (or just smooth evoo on wet/ damp hair and leave in), twist it up or bantu knot till mostly dry, leave in conditioner and oil or grease to seal, then style.

    Would you suggest the 3 daily dos for transiting hair?

    • @CollegeCurls
      @CollegeCurls  4 роки тому +7

      DEFINITELY! All 3 of these are important for transitioning hair, but low manipulation styling is one of the more important of the 3 because it can really help get some of the breakage you’ll be experiencing under control 😊

    I got a question I always had real kinky nappy pop back up here the top of hair did so thick it will break a comb but it sucks up moisture does that mean I have high porosity hair and how often should I deep condition my hair cuz I have dreadlocks so shy deep condition it once a month or every two months

    • @CollegeCurls
      @CollegeCurls  3 роки тому

      I can't definitively say if your hair would be high porosity because it's dry just because so many things could be causing the dryness, but as far as deep conditioning goes, I highly recommend you experiment and do what seems to work best for your hair and schedule - twice a month would likely work best! Thank you for watching and commenting! :)

    On the daily, I only use water and curl cream. At the end of the day my curls look dry af...so I guess the oil needs to be there as well. I'm going to try the LOC / LCO method❤

    • @dorethamcelliott4900
      @dorethamcelliott4900 4 роки тому +1

      Queen Eli instead of doing the LOC/LCO everyday if you wear a twist-out moisturize and seal (spritz lightly with water add your cream and seal with an oil) I actually omit the water since it's the first ingredient in my moisturizer. The on the 3rd or 4th day I do the LCO because by then my hair needs to be detangled and refreshed. Doing the LCO/LOC everyday may cause too much product build up. I have extremely dry high porosity hair and I have to moisturize and seal every day but it's getting better I can actually go every other day now.

    • @queeneli1191
      @queeneli1191 4 роки тому

      @@dorethamcelliott4900 ooohh, so LOC/LCO isn't meant to be done daily.. thank you for sharing, I will definitely look more into it🌸

    • @CollegeCurls
      @CollegeCurls  4 роки тому +2

      The LCO/LOC method can be done daily if you use a light amount of product , but it does depend on your hair as well. Some people benefit from doing it every 2 or every 3 days because it works for retaining moisture to your hair for that long. The process that was described in the response to your comment where it was suggested you spritz with water, add your cream, then seal with oil is actually the LCO method (liquid [water], cream, then oil ). It’ll just take some trial and error for you to figure out if your curls benefit from it daily, every other day, or maybe even less than that 💕

    Iam transitioning from relaxed to natural but my hair is really fine would my hair benefit from co-washing?

    • @CollegeCurls
      @CollegeCurls  3 роки тому +1

      It's hard for me to definitively say without knowing your hair in its entirety, but all textures of hair do benefit from cowashing. If you're interested in trying it, I would incorporate it once a week and follow up with your moisturizing routine to see how it works out for you! Hope this helped, thank you for watching and commenting! :)

  • @chanteadams4826
    @chanteadams4826 4 роки тому +4

    What about the LO method on a daily basis? I feel like applying cream on a daily basis will result in build up. Most creams are insoluble and seems like they’ll result in product buildup.

    • @CollegeCurls
      @CollegeCurls  4 роки тому +1

      That is a good point! If you were to apply cream daily, you would want to use a light amount. If you are a little heavier handed with the cream when doing the LOC method though, then you likely wouldn’t need to do the method again for another 2 - 3 days depending on how long your hair stays moisturized for (which can be great when you don’t feel like dealing with your head so much all the time lol). I wouldn’t personally recommend only doing the LO method everyday though and never using cream just because our hair does tend to need a sealing property to keep the products from evaporating so quickly. So even if you only applied a cream every 3 days that would be better than not at all. But then again, if you find that absolutely no cream works best for your curls then stay on that track ! ☺️💕

    • @chanteadams4826
      @chanteadams4826 4 роки тому +1
