I have found water rinsing every 2-3 days has helped me retain moisture. My hair high porosity and dried out real quick....I also wasn't using a leave in as I found it dried out my hair more. I now use thick leave-ins which I then seal with grease. So far my hair is retaining the moisture 🙏🏽

My hair is high porosity, I use fresh aloe vera gel mixed with olive oil as a leave in, that usually works, then I can just spritz with water and re-activate the aloe. Other times I use a rinse out conditioner as a leave in and seal with Indian hemp grease.

Immediately I came across your channel, I’ve been glued to it, watching all your videos and taking notes. I absolutely love Your style, it’s so easy and revealing.. I have a question, do you wash your hair while it’s in twists or without twist.??? An actual washing video can go a really way in helping me know how to wash my hair best that doesn’t end up tangling it so much..
I would appreciate a response.. Thank you so much..

Hi Crown Empress! I'm not sure what length you're working with, but there are a bunch of different styling options out there for hair of all lengths! To get started, I recommend looking up "natural hairstyles for (your hair length)" !

I am South Asian, I have light/medium density, fine hair. 2b waves that I really enjoy in their flat, relaxed state. I am struggling with dryness, and am slowly becoming convinced that oils have some place in good hair 'health'.
Thank you for your clear, detailed explanations. I love your video style, they are beautifully done!
    I'm in awe.
Thank you for helping me understand the why's of oil use. Because I didn't grow up with oil in hair care, and currently don't know anyone who does, I am ignorant of the how's. I am getting a good grasp on what types of oils to use and when. I am still a little confused on the practical details.
I just need to dive in and start experimenting I think.

Thank you so much for this detailed comment and I'm glad you enjoy my videos! Yes, oils certainly have a place in good hair health especially when it comes to sealing moisture in, and I'm happy to hear you've been doing your homework and learning more about the uses of different ones. Diving in and experimenting would be the next best step - since it's just oil, worse case scenario you rinse it out! :) Wishing you all the best in your journey Nisiepie!

I've always struggled with dryness, especially since I live in the Caribbean and it's always hot and humid where I live. I did the big chop 3 times (I recently did a 4th one) and I don't know how to keep the moisture in my hair. I have 4a-4b hair and my hair rn is shorter than a twa so I'm having a hard time finding protective hair methods. I never really understood hair porosity because one minute my hair gets wet easily and dries easily so I believe that I have high porosity hair then I feel like the next minute it takes forever to absorb water and takes forever to dry, I kinda give up at this point 🥲 if anyone can give me tips please do.

My hair was find and was thriving but since transitioning to grey I have become stuck and don't know what happened. I had my hair tested professionally and I was low porosity. I've never colored my hair or used chemicals and I don't flat iron or blow dry my hair except when I get it professionally trimmed so I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I don't know if the porosity changed since transitioning to grey because I had the test done in 2022. I'm really about to throw in the towel and give upj. I've been natural since 2012 and this is getting to hard for me and now my home looks like a beauty supply store. I don't go anywhere because my hair is always frizzy and looks dry so I keep it covered with a scarf or my bonnet because I don't wear wigs.
