I do but do some meditation whilst sitting with the cuff on. When I've finished I start the BP monitor. Like Dr Frita says do it twice. Yesterday I was stressed and I did my readings 5 times each time it got higher. I realized some days you just can't get a reading. Went for a hike today , did it when I got back and it was 132/82 when yesterday it was 154/85

I go to my doctor and to the emergency room, and everyone tells me to relax your arm in your lap. I saw in a CNN video that my arm must be aligned with my heart. Thanks, doctor, for confirming that the latter part of my statement is correct!!🙏🏾

Why is blood pressure checked as soon as you walk in the door after name called then you sit and the nurse takes pressure..noone waits till you have sat down a few seconds to check? Always puzzles me

Nurses at almost all healthcare centers don’t know right guidelines for blood pressure measurement. They just rush rush and put the numbers even without repeating it.

I’ve learned to take control of the BP reading. I tell them use the large cuff because I lift weights and I’ve had so many inaccurate readings from small cuffs. I also tell them I want it done the old school way. With me the automatic BP cuffs always read to high. The office personnel even admitted they are aware of that issue. Don’t be shy you are paying them for a service so be bold.

Thank you Dr. Frita. I have heard so many of my friends say their blood pressure is in the crisis state and I have to tell them to call their doctors. To be honest, I don’t think they listen and put it out of mind. Little do they know the damage this is doing to their systems.
I have Dysautonomia with low blood pressure, hypertension and tachycardia. I have to take my blood pressure often. Your video is a good checkup on my BP journey. ❤

My 14 year old daughter was diagnosed with ARPKD in december. Also was diagnosed with High BloodPressure. I brought her in to ER due to vomiting that lasted 7 days and was in MGH for 11 days and In 2024 March 22nd -April 1st she had another vomit episode and was diagnosed with Cyclic Vomit Syndrome. 🤷‍♀️🥺
Most recently Last wed started complain of back pain and i bring her into dr and she has kidney infection but never once or was just afraid to tell me she was having UTI symptoms. Do to CVS we went to OBGYN, becuase every time she vomits she is just entering her menstrual cycle. It has been a journey and I have been up late every night learning as much as I can. I know that this is hard for my daughter, but I think coming across your videos will help me help her understand more. (A part of me just wonders) I’m afraid of CVS due to her kidneys. before december she has been so healthy and active. I will be reaching out soon. i’m nervous I’m hesitant, but all I want all the information I can receive. I feel like a little fish of a big ocean 🥺

I was told by a specialist that a normal blood pressure for an older person, over 60 could be between 120- 140systolic and 80-90 diastolic? So I try to keep it betw these ranges.
