This game was a 10/10 to me after the literal first mission.
felt the exact same way. i especially felt that way when a certain robot was literally changing his expressions in dialogue and it showed in game while talking to him. thats when i knew it was 10
for me it was literally as soon as the first level ended. I saw the slow mo explosion results sheet and knew immediately this was something special.

Like the aesthetic comes from cartoons that were often INCREDIBLY cringe but somehow this game isn't. And the rhythm combat thing you look at and go "ehhhh I don't see how this would work" and then it does

Chai got an iPod put in his chest and immediately learned how to fight like Dante and Bayo did after years of demon stuff and magic karate training, Chai the goat.
Rhythm is everything in fighting. Dante and Bayo had to learn the metronome, Chai IS the metronome.
Gotta love max thinking he is thoroughly exploring when he's missing 50% of the things that aren't in his direct line of sight.
I'm like this too, I always think I'm doing a good job finding secrets, but whenever I look at a tutorial at the part I'm having trouble with... they always have so much more life/levels/upgrades, and I realize I've missed so much stuff.
In his defense, the SPECTRA Doors are completely useless until you reach post game.
That thumbnail is just further proof that Benny will forever be immortal.

This game came behind me, wrapped me in a chokehold and dragged me away to kidnap me, and I stayed in the basement happily with no objections; I'm absolutely OBSESSED WITH this game, I can't get enough of it. Definitely my favorite game this year so far. I also love 808 as Benny.🤍

What I love is the love they put into the game. Nothing is forced, everything feels genuinely real. The details they put into the story, the diagolues and the goofiness. Heck even the names of the good side are all food names. Chai = Tea, Peppermint, Macaron, CNMN. Really enjoying this.
I completed the game and never noticed that on the names of the characters haha, that's a cool funfact

The Korsica fight is amazing, just the progression of the song as it intensifies; chef kiss.
Personally I love that even enemy attacks are timed to the beats, so by pressing parry on every beat, you almost guarantee every counter
Parry really does crack open the combat in this game. If you listen well and are on beat, you can be an untouchable rockstar lol
It is very useful, eventually tho you have to learn to press it between beats too
I love how Max just impulse buys everything he sees and goes "... shit" when he doesn't have enough gears for what he actually wants.

Use your special attacks. You can end them in literal seconds with even just two bars of meter or assist counters.

I love this game so much. 5:01:12 I love a ton because it immediately shot me back to the PS2’s Sly vs MZ Ruby fight. That fight alone gave birth to my love for Rhythm games.

The first Samurai bot encounter is when it really hit me how similar rhythm games and Char-action games actually are. That weeb bot really made me want to improve and replay the game.
This game is tons of fun, they totally nailed with this one, is just insanely great, the way is polish and how the characters are portrayed is just fits really good.
Is incredible silly, but they knew it is silly and play with it so well.
Just hope Max start realizing a bit more of the colors in fights, really helps to know what color do what.

Can’t recommend it enough. It’s one of the best games I’ve played in years. Max’s video title couldn’t be more accurate. I was smiling like a goofy idiot as I was playing this game. Playing to the beat is so addictive and I was grooving with the game the whole way.
It's not for everyone, but even if you're part of the 1% you should still get it just for the experience.
Definitely worth it if you like action games, rhythm games and the cartoon atmosphere. If you're still hesitant there's the $1/month Game Pass trial on PC/Xbox.
I have beat it a few times now my fav game in years over Elden ring also and I love that game.

1:26:22 THIS PARTICULAR FIGHT, is difficult to S Rank. Im on Hard Mode and they just die way too early to build enough meter for overkills, and attack way too slow to build enough Style Points for anything above 30k. Which only lands you at a "Score = B" rating on the Encounter Summary.

What I find strange is Chai's durability. He takes multiple high altitude falls and takes a massive self distrustructing robot straight to the back, which then latches him into a metal wall, and he was fine. He even gets punched in the face by the first z shield robot and gets sent flying through wall after wall after wall before coming to a hard stop, and he was fine. Yet korsica shows up and knocks him out cold with a single swing to the head. If we are going by the belief that cutscenes in a game are what's actually cannon, then that would mean his incredible durability is also cannon. So therefore I find it a bit inconsistent that Korsica could ko him so easily.

Every anime trope ever. Look at luffy from One Piece for example, who's durable when fighting his enemies and is made of rubber, yet Nami can still give him a beating and lump his head many times.
Point is, no matter how strong and durable they are, the female characters/friends can still beat them up.

It didn't don on me for awhile, but I think that was the developers saying that was meant to be a boss fight at some point. For whatever reason they couldn't fully get in the game in time and they were a little bummed out about it. Considering how much meta humor is in the game that wouldn't surprise me if I'm right.

I honestly went an redownloaded The Evil Within just because of Sebastian Bot only to realize both were made by the same group which would explain why there's an Evil Within reference in this game
