24:47 not too sure how much you care, but Kar'niss is a creature called a Drider, and is the result of a punishment of the Goddess of most Drow, Lolth, for failing her. They're in lore very violent creatures, usually having lost most of their sanity in the transformation from drow to half spider, half elf. Most keep a least some of their memories, which tends to make them resentful as well. (Minthara gave me a mild drow obession and I've probably spent too much time reading about drow lore lmao)
Fun fact about the githyanki creche, when their leader demands the artifact or she'll start a combat encounter, if you give it to her it immediately returns to your care and she takes you to the next room anyways
I deduced that this is kinda what would happen if I gave it to her because of the amount of times I’ve tried dropping that thing on the ground, I just didn’t know she wasn’t going to fight me so I lucked out lol
That's cool, Lae'zel (or shadowheart?) foreshadows this in conversation at some point saying it wouldn't matter if i gave it to her because it has a way of finding its way back to the owner it wants to be with. I didn't know it was an important hint.
Thank you for showing me the wonders of barrelmancy. I horded every singe barrel of wine, oil, powder, and firework and then almost exploded my pc in the process, when I blew up Gortash with half of them for the no-trap achievement
I got the achievement completely on accident on... I just realized I've lost count of how many times I have done a full playthrough of this game, but it was in my current playthrough (evil tactician durge)
When i saw the title i was expecting just a bunch of speedrun skips to just ignore combat, but no you actually went all out. I've done lvl 1 runs of normal turn based rpgs like final fantasy, but as someone who has never played a game like bg3 (ig the term is crgp?) and struggled with the later combat encounters this is hella impressive and cool.
If I ever attempted this I would easily have over 1,000 saves by the end of act one, just from me save scumming every 10 seconds. Man this looks like hell to actually do and I thought dark souls challenge runs were bad
I can just tell that you're the one at the table with the weirdest plans that end up working way too often. Dnd is a game about finding the best solution to a problem, so cheesing is absolutely encouraged. Keep it up!

This is one of the most creative videos that I have ever watched. The amount of unique facts with objects and “out of combat” strategies used here is remarkable and simply astounding. I absolutely love it! Love your content man!
Haha thanks, it was honestly a really fun challenge, although I’m glad I played act 3 through once before continuing the level 1 run… helped me map it out in my head
Watching you do act 2 for me was an absolute trip because quite literally the first place I went to in the act was Last Light Inn lol. You wouldn't have even discovered it before defeating the final boss of the act had the game not decided "you wanna stay in Moonrise? That's too bad, now get in the boat". It's amazing how almost everyone's first play through of BG3 is genuinely unique. Great video man.
I actually think it's impossible for literally anyone to be killed in the gith machine at the monastery. Pretty sure the artifact saves them by default even if you do nothing but the fact you didn't have a choice in that situation and the game makes you feel like it's extremely urgent and that failure can occur is impressive.
I was really impressed with your video and the creative ways you found to cheese the game. I have 8 completed runs and over 530 hours and still picked up a few things that I didn't know from your video. Amazing strats, super entertaining, didn't feel like a 2 hour video at all! Congrats!
No idea why you’d put yourself through this lol but I’m glad you did, great video. Aylin and Jaheira being so squishy drove me mad, they’re meant to be badasses so why am I having to work so hard to keep them alive?!
To this day I still haven’t been part of the ambush… I usually go straight to Karniss to kill him and free Dolly. I should try going to last light inn first, lol
Fun way to kill Dolor there at the pub is with the Susser silence effect, the teleport he uses is dimension door so if he is silenced by the susser effect he can't teleport, because unlike the silence spell which is a static AOE the susser silence, once applied cannot be ran from and Dolor will just uselessly try to use his scroll anyway and wait to be killed.
You beat the game more smoothly than my first blind (no early access because I’m console) honour run and I had a max level party like the beginning of act 3. Pretty insane that you pulled it off.
I just finished my first tactician solo run last night and really enjoyed watching this! When I found Balthazar, I used an invis potion and used gust of wind to blow him off of the ledge! I didn't expect it to work, as I thought of it on the spot, but it went flawlessly. Great video!

After playing through the game a few times, there are two items that would have been a huge help in pickpocketing. Right before the creche, there's a lady who wants you to steal a githyanki egg for her. If you kill her, you can get the graceful clothe(i believe it's called) which gives you advantage on all your dex rolls, and then there's a ring you can find on a skeleton around the area you recruit karlach that gives you a bonus to relevant skills, and a Harper necklace that gives the user guidance just in case.

39:39 rewatching this rn and honestly I just have to wonder what Aylin is thinking during this entire setup lmAO like she’s just watching a motley group of adventurers running around moving bones, trapping the bones behind a wall of *chests* that they just manifest out of their pockets, pickpocket the undead guy who’s responsible for torturing her for a century, and then proceeding to almost die over and over again for like half an hour before finally saving her. Oh, and they’re all level one.
I'm surprised that people still dont know which hag is real when ethel uses hags trickery bc even in my first playthrough, i saw that the real Ethel had a different coloured skirt compared to the illusions (pretty sure she has a red skirt and they have a blue skirt) But tbh its been a while bc I just resort to either arcane locking the stairs to Ethel's lair and killing her or using Wyll's command and any prone attacks to make her immobile and then kill her
My husband had a trick to at least find the real Mayrina by always using water to put out her fire, then check to see which Mayrina was "wet" and attacking the other.
Cool trick - to counter Hag's Trickery, keep an eye on the turn menu as she uses it. The turn it will be on is the real hag's turn, and hovering over her turn icon reveals the real hag's position.
damn i had no idea there was a special steel watcher boss with loot because i just made astarion go invis and run all the way to the panel to set the bomb. i was worried id have a limited number of turns to escape the building/watchers cuz he stops being invis when interacting with objects but the cutscene just played immediately LOL
Alright, this is the first video I watched, and, let me just say, Bravo. Not only did you do this run, which should incredibly difficult, but somehow, you turned it into something that looks more like it was put of an actual DnD campaign than literally the Game by it self. Incredible. I do have some idea, if you ever see these. Level 1 run Honour, if impossible than Jack of All trades run honor mode. 1 level per class. Lone Wolf through Honour Mode? Can you beat BG3 as Bahll? Essentially as soon as you meet someone, they die. No Companions, no Allies, just death incarnate. Exceptions being like....Nightsong as she's immortal, Ketheric Thorm as he's immortal. But perhaps there is a way to get the highest possible body count in game. Also fun considering some places cause virtually everyone to turn against you once you attack.
I love how even during this hard as hell challenge you cared about stuff like the fights feeling dramatic and cool 😎 I’m so impressed by how you managed this
31:07 theres another check you can make that can convince hime to make the nurses kill eachother, then you can make him kill himself. The nurses have some cool loot depending on your build
'i was sure the game wouldn't have ended' when talking about going into the artifact is really funny, becuase of spoilers: you are correct that it wouldn't kill you to attempt to kill the dream visitor, but you are also wrong, becuase in the preceding conversation with the gith queen vlakith, if you stand up to her and ask why a goddess needs you to do it for her, she will cast WISH to kill you and you get a game over, which is hilarious
*I swear iam watching and my mind is being blown u r amazing man so this is my first time playing turn base ever i went druid for act 1&2 and switch to fighter in 3 but after seeing you we can assure that we use mind not mucsels in this game*
1:02:28 the perfect cheese for this fight is casting fog cloud that will blind him but not your allies. He can’t hit you if you’re out of melee cause he can’t see you and has disadvantage on all attacks
I didn't see it in the first few comments, but for why the AI did what it did at 28:45, it's because it tends to target the lowest health and lowest armor class character of your party. Since that tends to be your wizards, that's why they all flocked to there. I've noticed that, unless another character has lower health, enemies kept charging Gale constantly. The only time they didn't is if there was no legal move to reach him and there was a better target of opportunity.
"Playing through this at level one was actually kind of nice, since I didn't have to worry about experience" Which, hilariously, is the easiest part of the game. Fun video!
Honestly, if this wasn't my first ever playthrough of act 2, I might have done the stealth climb. I TRULY thought (hoped?) that any Harper soldiers left alive would come with me to the top floor to fight Ketheric. So I put in the extra effort to find a way to keep them alive so they'd come help me. When that didn't work out, I had to figure out a new way to deal with Ketheric.
I learned a whole new way of playing thanks to you. I was playing it so basic before. I think I wanna create a stealthy character and play again. This will be like my 3rd time as I have beaten the game once. and the second time Im still working on as a Sorcerer. But I wanna do a new play through using some of the tactics you did.
Gonna have to come back to this one after my second run through the game! Can't believe this was your first run through... As soon as you took a different path (killing the harpers in the underdark) I had to switch off to avoid spoiler town. But rest assured, I'll be back. Good stuff so far!!!
You probably know this by now, but on HM, enemies tend to target the lowest AC. By having your lowest AC cast Sanctuary and be essentially untargetable, they got confused.
@@melchiormagni spells like Thunderwave or burning hands don't require successful rolls to do damage, but with low rolls you won't gain the benefits they provide beyond that, and if one starts as a draconic sorcerer they can start out with both, I think. You'll just run out of them quickly since sorcerer spell slots require long rests
@@Fracture.Gaming I seriously hope this is on the books for a future video. And if there isn't a mod for it already, I'd bet that someone would be willing to make it, even if for a fee. this has become my new comfort series!! thanks for compiling them all
39:39 rewatching this rn and honestly I just have to wonder what Aylin is thinking during this entire setup lmAO like she’s just watching a motley group of adventurers running around moving bones, trapping the bones behind a wall of *chests* that they just manifest out of their pockets, pickpocket the undead guy who’s responsible for torturing her for a century, and then proceeding to almost die over and over again for like half an hour before finally saving her. Oh, and they’re all level one.
Best BG3 Content! I am amazed! I watched soooo many videos! This video was a real eye opener! Thank you so much for sharing this!
Thanks! I'm really glad you liked it :) This was a super fun playthrough for me
I'm surprised that people still dont know which hag is real when ethel uses hags trickery bc even in my first playthrough, i saw that the real Ethel had a different coloured skirt compared to the illusions (pretty sure she has a red skirt and they have a blue skirt)
But tbh its been a while bc I just resort to either arcane locking the stairs to Ethel's lair and killing her or using Wyll's command and any prone attacks to make her immobile and then kill her
My husband had a trick to at least find the real Mayrina by always using water to put out her fire, then check to see which Mayrina was "wet" and attacking the other.
19:16 it would have indeed given you a game over as your party turned Into absolute mind-flayers
I said to my friend when I started the game, "I can't wait till a level one run is done" and here we are lmao
I didnt even know that if you let that spider dude live he's part of the boss fight with ketheric lol
Cool trick - to counter Hag's Trickery, keep an eye on the turn menu as she uses it. The turn it will be on is the real hag's turn, and hovering over her turn icon reveals the real hag's position.
very nice man, I love the effort to do change things up after you find an exploit, and just use it once and then change strategy. Great video :3
Seeing those massive bonuses to dialog roles are gonna make me play bard.
damn i had no idea there was a special steel watcher boss with loot because i just made astarion go invis and run all the way to the panel to set the bomb. i was worried id have a limited number of turns to escape the building/watchers cuz he stops being invis when interacting with objects but the cutscene just played immediately LOL
I love how even during this hard as hell challenge you cared about stuff like the fights feeling dramatic and cool 😎 I’m so impressed by how you managed this
Haha yeah I like to try lots of different strategies, glad you enjoyed it all :)
@@Fracture.Gaming epic fights are the best part about larian-fights
31:07 theres another check you can make that can convince hime to make the nurses kill eachother, then you can make him kill himself. The nurses have some cool loot depending on your build
Don’t feel too bad…that Displacer beast was Yurgir’s wife so…she’s in a better place now.
'i was sure the game wouldn't have ended' when talking about going into the artifact is really funny, becuase of spoilers:
you are correct that it wouldn't kill you to attempt to kill the dream visitor, but you are also wrong, becuase in the preceding conversation with the gith queen vlakith, if you stand up to her and ask why a goddess needs you to do it for her, she will cast WISH to kill you and you get a game over, which is hilarious
*I swear iam watching and my mind is being blown u r amazing man so this is my first time playing turn base ever i went druid for act 1&2 and switch to fighter in 3 but after seeing you we can assure that we use mind not mucsels in this game*
This is some Limburger, Blue Vein, Camembert stinky level of cheese strats. It’s incredible
Boy do I like barrelmancy
Truly awesome, thanks for sharing all of these crazy ideas!
"Playing through this at level one was actually kind of nice, since I didn't have to worry about experience"
Which, hilariously, is the easiest part of the game. Fun video!
This would be a bitch to count, but “can you beat Baldur’s gate entirely in turn based mode”/“how many turns does it take to beat Baldur’s gate”
I admire the dedication to do Moonrise the "right" way with a level one party, instead of stealth climbing the tower straight to Ketheric x'D
“his bones were bugged😒” is such a good sentence
I know it would take a mod or two to accomplish it, but I'd love to see if it's possible to beat baldurs gate 3 if all rolls are nat 1s.
That actually sounds really fun and super "clickable" on UA-cam too...
@@melchiormagni easy, lead them upstairs and let the allied intellect devourer up there kill them.
Or use warlock shield of agathys
@@melchiormagni spells like Thunderwave or burning hands don't require successful rolls to do damage, but with low rolls you won't gain the benefits they provide beyond that, and if one starts as a draconic sorcerer they can start out with both, I think. You'll just run out of them quickly since sorcerer spell slots require long rests
@@awoodenkiwitoy6293there are many maces that do damage despite a miss too
@@Fracture.Gaming I seriously hope this is on the books for a future video. And if there isn't a mod for it already, I'd bet that someone would be willing to make it, even if for a fee. Like you said, that would be super clickable. Like clickbait, but it would actually deliver.
Whether it would be possible to actually beat the game with Nat 1s only, I'm not sure 😂
Hunger of Hadar blocks line of sight, so he (Sarevok) couldn't see where he was jumping. That's why he just stood there and took damage
Tip for the fight against the hag... you can always tell the original because of turn order
1:15:21 apparently you can get improved bardic inspiration by playing music with Alfira after fighting ketheric at the end of act 2
Every time I watch videos like this it reminds how bad at the game I am.
Fun fact: you can actually make the avatar of Myrkel drop his scythe with a few options.
I think you can do it with a disarmingly strike.
I made him drop it by casting Heat Metal.
I imagine with some possibility of failure you might be able to use command: drop
The Raphael fight is easily the best in the game. I found it so much harder than any of the netherstone fights
Your insane hahaha damn lvl 1 tactian xD Good effort you mad lad. You got yourself a new subscriber loved the video :)
The fact you did this challenge without ever experiencing past act one before hand is too wild to me lol.
The red Homer was "sharing the bed" with that Displacer Beast.
This must have taken 1000 hours to playthrough, lol! Great job!!!
