It's actually super cool to see the work of multiple speedrunners have put into BG3 shown here even if a little. The Mindflayer colony jump isn't as easy as Bouch made it seem and is actually a run killer most of the time and it's nicknamed "Braincat Jump" as Intellect Devourers are technically brain cats :3 If you were ever wondering how the jumps through walls work, it's simply put a mixture of spamming the jump input and the clicking input to force the game to jump regardless of whether or not you could make the jump. You can do this almost anywhere in the game with varying results and it's actually really silly.
I don’t think “braincat” is a great term for a taloned parasite made out of another’s brain that takes over peoples bodies and uses them to kill others… The closest thing cats actually give to that is their toxoplasmosis.
Mysterious circumstances and an unseen hero! Baldurs Gate saved by the gods themselves? For as of yet unknown reasons, a mindflayer invasion of Baldurs Gate to rule the sword coast crumbles into dust! Our savior? Parties unknown, if any. A war party led by Isobelle Thorm against her father denies any involvement. His evil is gone, but darkness still plagues the lands visible from Moonrise Towers. Not long after the Nightsong felled Thorm, a spirit of murder ripped Lorn Enver Gortash to ribbons in his own meeting hall. A meeting amongst advisors and affluents alike, all claim to have seen the same; Gortash idling in his seat, when he is suddenly bleeding in the floor, lacerations tearing into his skin from no weapon. Later that week, an expeditionary mission found the remains of a Bhallist temple, recently terminated. It seems even the lord of murder’s acolytes aren’t safe from the forces that bled Gortash dry. By the weeks end, the previously mentioned Mind Flayer Invasion seemed to stop before it truly began! A colossal mindflayer Elderbrain erupted from the earth, ripping Baldurs gate apart from the inside! But soon after the invasion began, the brain collapsed, taking the invasion force with it. It

17:53 I can't stop laughing at what this must have looked like from Myrkul´s perspective: Out of nowhere the source of his chosen´s immortality is released from her bonds and as Kethric turns towards this inexplicable event he is instantly torn apart by a dozen arrows appearing out of thin air in the opposite direction. Reflexively, in an act of desperation, the Lord of Bones summons his avatar and in the same breath it fucking explodes. The God of Death probably stayed out of mortal machinations for few centuries after that.
19:10 that gith fight there is one way to avoid being spotted, but doing it requires talking to the Pixie so it wouldn't help you in this run. You can use the animal form transformation from the pixie while behind that portal then long rest as an animal and you wont be put into ur bed. You can do the same thing to skip the entire kethric fight (pixie transform can TP out of maps that are red). You can go straight to act 3 without even fighting Kethric that way.

4:18 If you're looking for the parasite, you can just take the headband from Findal and use it to unlock the secret door past the poison vents straight to the druid library. Just click on the gate with it equipped and it opens. Using the same headband, you can exit the library into Nettie's area.
By the way you probably know this but when you sell a pouch or any sort of container to a merchant and after that put all of that merchant's stock into the container, when you kill them all of the things inside of the container will still be there and that's a neat way to get all the stock of a merchant. You can also put all of the items in the container and after that take a partial rest and do it again so you can get a lot of scrolls of revivify, arrows, potions and scrolls.
Unfortunately, you can’t sell a bag to a merchant without talking to them. You could reverse pickpocket a bag into their inventory but I don’t think you can move things into the bag from the pickpocket menu, so the bag exploit would be unusable in this run.
You can actually get the parasite in the grove without being seen: If you equip the crown Findal drops, you can open the big stone door into Halsin's chamber and get the parasite. It is the same one Nettie wears and functions the same way, too.

You could bring gale into the party I think? It would probably mean you’ll also get spotted by eliminster but it would allow you to skip being spotted by all the enemies on the nether brain via skipping the fight
But this method does increases number of spotters as the video managed to go through the netherbrain stem without being spotted by anyone else. In low% runs lower percentage slower run is ranked higher, so doing the hard way for lower number of spotters is a better run. Someone else did mention you can get the pixie to turn you into an animal and sleep as an animal to avoid the 3 gith to trade 3 spotters for one, but without hirelings the following fight would be impossible to stealth (unless sleeping with an already dead hireling in your party works)
@@bountygiver2 This run has everyone on top of the netherbrain see you for the turn you start combat & open the portal. That's a fair few more folks than gale and elminster.
By the way, if you kill Findal under the grove, he has the crown to open Nettie's lab from behind, so you could get the drow parasite without her seeing you. I know it's too late for this run, but it could be interesting to know for future playthroughs

In the first cave past the first big goblin fight there is a halfling druid laying unconscious. If you take the circlet, you can sneak into the back door of the grove and end up in the room with the dead drow.
Since you killed Findal in the cave towards the Druid Grove, you can loot the Key of Nature from him and enter the grove directly inside Halsim's lab, and get access to the parasite there without even talking to Nettie. To go to the lab, instead of following the rute that takes you to the Grove's Prison, you have to jump in the wall close to where the goblins are guarding Findal, and you get to another secret door. :)

I remember accidentally breaking the game like you did in act two and entering the mindflayer colony before finding Aylin, so pretty funny that you used the same exact trick in this challange
Nice video but in fact you can get the parasite from the drow in Act 1 without being seen. With the +1 Nature crown that you can loot from the corpse of Findal you can directly enter the room where there is the parasite without entering the room where Netie is (meaning that no one is there exept you). To get there, in the room where Findal is, you can climb up right, where one of the goblin is (you can also jump there to the right from the place you killed Findal with a firebolt). There is a secret passage being a litteral WALL at the end which if you succeed a perception check can interract with it but is locked. However if you put the crown looted from Findal on it will open itself giving you access to the room where the drow is without anyone seeing you. Carefull with the hidden explosive traps on the way.
Technically the hirelings are just zombie meat robots piloted by Withers so technically the hirelings seeing you still all count as just Withers seeing you through their undead eyes 😄😄😄
Challenge run ideas you have not yet done. They will not be anything super absurd like being a cheese or having 0 stats, but just restrictions that will hopefully breed creativity. --Kill things only using gravity. Interpret that as you will. --Magic only run, but you can only use each spell once, including cantrips. --You can only cast healing spells on enemies, you can't attack them any other way. --Using only consumables, and then again without using any at all. --Using the most overly complicated, obnoxious exploits for literally everything. --Kill things only with Armor of Agathys-like spells or abilities; that is, the only way to do damage is by getting hit first. --No looting or trading run. --No class run (I'm sure there's a mod for this or something). Hopefully you find one of these interesting.

Btw there is another way into the mindflayer colony in the moonrise prison. Beside the the tower, when you enter the prison on, the left side is a hole that leads there.
A video after my own heart! I'm always creeping around in stealth mode and keep a massive supply of invisibility potions and scrolls on me as well as making sure at least one party member has the spell prepared. Oh, and I play as Dark Urge exclusively to make use of the Deathstalker Mantle. Meanwhile all of my coworkers say they never even bother with stealth and just rush into every fight and just two days ago I was playing co-op with someone, told him to drop into stealth before entering the area by Ethel's with the wood woads (I wanted a round of surprise) (he had never even seen this area before in spite of having completed Act 1 multiple times), and then found myself yelling "stop" until he just ran Karlach straight in there and all my best laid plans were thwarted 😭.

Withers: _I've been watching you since the very beginning. I'll just say my old eye doesn't count... and we'll call this a meeting beyond the realms of your challenge mortal._
I remember accidentally breaking the game like you did in act two and entering the mindflayer colony before finding Aylin, so pretty funny that you used the same exact trick in this challange
Excellent Snake, age hasn't slowed you down one bit
I think a looser version of this challenge would be fun as hell to try myself, great video
Introverts playing BG3 be like
Nice video but in fact you can get the parasite from the drow in Act 1 without being seen.
It’s an awesome video and I know I am being petty, but to me your hirlings seeing you is breaking the premise
Technically the hirelings are just zombie meat robots piloted by Withers so technically the hirelings seeing you still all count as just Withers seeing you through their undead eyes 😄😄😄
next run: class abilities only, no actions, attacks, or spells that aren't given to you by your class or subclass
Taking "operating from the shadows" to a whole new level.
ah wonderful, always glad when there’s an upload from bouch
lmfao this is great - the unseen unkown origin character that actually is in everyones playthrough, but has never been seen
it is fucking insane to see someone roll a 45 on a d20
The true Phantom Assassin
Imagine the terror and rumors among the common folk, of how every superpower died by invisible arrows, hopeless to defend themselves or even identify the assassin.
I swear you keep finding new ways to play this game no matter whats been done
Btw there is another way into the mindflayer colony in the moonrise prison. Beside the the tower, when you enter the prison on, the left side is a hole that leads there.
A video after my own heart! I'm always creeping around in stealth mode and keep a massive supply of invisibility potions and scrolls on me as well as making sure at least one party member has the spell prepared. Oh, and I play as Dark Urge exclusively to make use of the Deathstalker Mantle. Meanwhile all of my coworkers say they never even bother with stealth and just rush into every fight and just two days ago I was playing co-op with someone, told him to drop into stealth before entering the area by Ethel's with the wood woads (I wanted a round of surprise) (he had never even seen this area before in spite of having completed Act 1 multiple times), and then found myself yelling "stop" until he just ran Karlach straight in there and all my best laid plans were thwarted 😭.
brains dont have eyes, it couldnt see you
can't avoid the gith ambush = bad game?
love the work you've done, you're possibly one of the most gamers of all time
I was JUST wondering this!! I've never seen Withers hanging out at the goblin camp thats crazy
> Myrkul gets blown up the moment he gets summoned
Somewhere, the spirit of Old Man Henderson nods proudly
