I cut an oversized square piece of heat shrink for the tip and slide a round piece heat shrink about 2” long over the top. Then heat it up with a hairdryer. All the best. Jim from Georgia
One of detecting's greatest little time saver's, I have two of the original grey Minelab pro-find pinpointer's, Not that I needed a second one, it came with my ctx purchase, they are one of the tools of detecting that is a must have item in your kit, and they are both still working well over many years of use! sturdy and strong! but i must admit the reset on the 40 would be be an absolute blessing, Thanks for the overview Luke, Cheers Mate!
I don't know where I would be without my pinpointer some days @wayne armstrong and I'd nearly go as far as saying I would head home to grab it if ever forgotten! Mind you I generally carry a spare at all times in the boot. Definitely a must have when out chasing the coins! I'm really glad you enjoyed watching mate, take care until our next adventure🙂👍⛏️
@@DigItDetecting Yes! ive done a few trips home, but for me, mostly short trips. in the long run it always saved time and searching, for an elusive target! I wish i had one back when i was on the gold fields, the nuggets were big enough back then! I also wish i had been filming my finds too, but the cameras were a bit larger, and not as convenient. Dont know if ill be there Friday night, as I will be up at my new location in the bush with no power, getting the bus hauled up there tomorrow, it will take some time to get myself sorted out, power wise! saving up for a generator to start with, anyway I'll do my best to join you if i can! Cheers Mate!
Thank you, Luke, for sharing your thoughts. I've got my ordering for Christmas, On the end of my pinpoint I put a 19cm Black irrigation pipe. Roughly 20cm On the end of my pinpoint, thanks, Luke Ray🤠
What a great idea adding some irrigation piping @Ray Dovey I never thought of that one mate. I am sure once Christmas arrives and your brand new 40...you will absolutely love it mate👌 Brilliant little unit, I just love it! Cheers heaps for watching Ray🤝👍⛏️
Great review Luke , I'm sure the updated 40 will last you years. I agree that the replaceable 9 volt battery is preferred over the rechargeable pointers. As if you are in the bush you have no where to plug it in to charge. Tip you can buy rechargeable 9volt batteries. Charge them up , throw them in your bag with a spare and off you go. Cheers Luke , thanks for the info on the new pin pointer! Rob.
Carry a power bank to charge. They are smaller than phones. And XP Mi4 lasts aaaaaages. I go detecting nearly every day and only need to charge once a month.
I am so glad you enjoyed watching this review @Roberto Giuseppe I think the brand new 40 is a ripper little unit after using for some time now! You are spot on there to mate, I feel nothing wrong with carrying a spare battery. Peace of mind you can keep on hunting all day long👌😁⛏️ Cheers again mate!
Try finding rubber caps for all thread bar, its an industry standard that each bar installed in construction should be capped off Get you pointer diameter and get some to fit from electrical wholesalers
Great review Luke,, I borrow one from Gold Rat detecting,,, Dustin said to me try the Minelab 40 pinpointer out for a week so I did,, I was so impressed with the pinpointer , 😊, Hopefully get one some time down the track ,, thanks for sharing your video Luke, 😊💯👍👌 , Happy Hunting buddy,,
I'm so glad you enjoyed watching this review @Tony Perham how good is the new little 40 mate! Hits hard on the targets and super easy to use. I especially love the new rapid retune button featured. Cheers heaps Tony, take care until the next mate🙂⛏️
Great review Luke. I have never owned a pin pointer, currently looking at investing some hard earned on one. The 40 will be the go for me i think. Cheers!
I am so glad you enjoyed this quick review @Andrew Hewes and great to hear it has helped to mate. The new 40 is a ripper little pinpointer and I'm sure that it will be serving me well for years to come! Just like the 35s have. Happy hunting out there for future mate👍⛏️
I'm really glad you enjoyed watching @Brun Free as mentioned in video, the tips on the end of the pinpointers come from when I was doing mechanics and saving the rubber caps from fitting motors etc. I am sure you can find similar at Bunnings. Happy digging out there😊⛏️
Something a little different for a Tuesday night @The Gold Rush Guy but nice to be showing the differences between the two! I certainly know which one I like the most now😁👌
Great comparison Luke. I recently brought my caps from bunnings. Used the 2mm chair leg protectors. Does the job.. love the 2 additional features especially the sensitive.
Something a little different for our latest video @I Dig It Melbourne but also great to be sharing my opinion on the brand new 40. You can tell I just love it👌 The rubber caps are a great idea to!...got to protect the tip...of your pinpointer😁 Happy hunting out there😊

Good morning, I thought your video was very good and I noticed that the tip of the device is using rubber protection. How do I find this type of rubber for pin pointer protection? Thank you A HUG GEORGE
Hi there @george thanks so much for watching! I'm so glad you enjoyed🙂 On the end of my pinpointer shown in video is a rubber cap as you mentioned. Great for protecting the end of wearing through and replaceable whenever needed. I just pick them up from my local shops such as bunnings, kmart, target etc. Just little rubber chair stoppers or even table leg ends to protect the floor from scratching. Just measure your pinpointer, or better yet take it in store with you and see which one does the job👍 thanks so much again for watching George. Take care mate🙂🙂
Great review mate although I don't use either one, I feel like I know them pretty good now lol..aaah the ol yellow faithful hey!? It certainly did you good over those yrs.
Thanks for watching @idigthat73 the little 35s have been bloody amazing for me over the years hunting mate, although I think the new 40 might just out do it yet! I'll be interested to see if it last as long as the 35s😎
There are a few out there on the market that are Mini-USB rechargeable @Under Ground Metal Detecting but not sure about USB-C sorry mate. Different types of chargers. The 9v batteries are where it's at for me though. Just replace them when needed and keep on digging😁 Happy hunting mate👍
Im really glad you enjoyed and found helpful @Shane9ish the Profind 40 is a fantastic bit of kit mate and a perfect upgrade from the 35. You will love using your new 40 I'm sure👌 Cheers heaps mate🤝👍⛏️

How do you clean the speaker in the pro 40 please
Water proof, so could gently submerge and wash it out. Holes are much bigger
Love the 40 mate - great comparison
