• The Exciting NEW Minel...
Hello! I want you to explain about the function goldfield Minelab Manticore?
So you want me to do a video on the Goldfield Mode in-action and explain the settings and tones? With some live digs? Thanks for the suggestion and view!
Thanks for the plug, Mark! That was a great review - I hadn't even thought of putting the pinpointer underwater because I tend to stay firmly on land, lol. Holding the coins with the broad part facing the pinpointer also showed a bigger difference in depth than I did when I laid them on edge. It's been a dream to use in the field!
Thank you for checking out the video!!! I used it all day yesterday in the river underwater and it was great, other than it tends to float but that is not a bad thing for most. Just working on the bottom in the rocks makes it tough to hang onto when it keeps trying to float up. Solved the problem with the holster! Yes, it's awesome in the field!! 🤠
Mark, thank you for all you do in the metal detecting world. Another informative video. Thank you.
Much appreciated Ron, as always I truly value your always tuning in and leaving comments!!! 😊
Great video Mark. Concise and to the point. I think Minelab heard the customer feedback and stepped up.
We just got some in the other day. Love it.
Thank you Michael. Yes a good move to bring this new one out and phase out the 20 and 35. I'll let the group know you have them in stock.
Mine is on the way! Great video. Michael from Dogtown sent me.
Awesome!! Michael is good people!! Thanks for the view and taking the time to leave a comment!
Thanks for the video buddy it got me curious so I tried my Garrett carrot on some small nuggets l bought at Columbia it worked pretty good you ought to try it if you have one.Keep up the good work.Oh buy the way I recently got my Manticore I sure would like to see you do some more videos on it if you can I would appreciate it.Thanks again.
All of my pinpointers are able to detect a gold nugget of at least a pennyweight (dWt) or a 1 gram nugget but honestly none of the VLF pinpointers are ideal as the amount of sensitivity required would make our blood red highly mineralized soil interfere and whine and cry. I tried the Fisher F-Pulse PI pinpointer and it was good but interfered with the PI machines so bad it was tough to use. For now i'll just have to stick to my plastic scoop. to recover nuggets. But, this new pinpointer still has a place in my gold adventures as I get loud surface like signals with my PI gold machines, I can quickly use the new Minelab Pro-Find 40 to check those as most are bullets, shell casings or nails. I do have every pinpointer here and mostly was using my MI-6 over the last year. Thanks for the view and kind words!!!
Thank you
Well done video. Tried mine out today
Did you use it with a PI detector yet? Big difference . . . Had mine underwater in the river all day yesterday with no issues.
Excellent comparison video
Much appreciated!!
Thank you good information.
Much appreciated, thank you for checking out the video!
Thanks for all the videos. My new profind40 is set of by any tiny tap against small stones. I really mean tiny tap is this normal. Just buzzes away. Constantly ground balancing. Actually even touching the end with finger sets it of.
Sounds like you have a broken or a malfunction. There is a little piece of ferrite in the device and if it comes loose or breaks it can behave like this. A drop onto concrete or rocks or even rough shipping and handling can break it too. I recommend you send it in under warranty. Thank you for the view and comment!
Thanks for the fast reply, really would be lost without the videos. I'll send it back. Very annoying. Thanks again
Thank you for all you do God bless
Sincerely appreciated!!
Great vid! 😎 Is the discrimination feature available in vibrate only mode? For instance, is there a different vibrate pattern for ferrous and non-ferrous targets?
Thank you for the view and comment! Yes the ferrous audio alarm will work in both vibrate and audio modes.
Excellent video mark. Least I know what pinpoint are to get.
Awesome, glad I was able to provide to useful info and testing that helped you decide! Thank you for the view and comment.
Great video mark
Thank you for the view and comment!
My Garrett pin pointer generaly works between 3.5 and 4 inches on the dirt. I love Minelab as I have 3 of ther detctors, but these seem weak. love to see a see them compared
I will do a head to head between a few different ones to see which is the deepest. To be honest, depth is not a huge factor for me, when I'm digging in heavy iron for a target and I am just trying to hear the conductive target, a pinpointer that is too sensitive will be detecting our very mineralized soil, all the square nails and iron along with the conductive target. It's nice to be able to dial it back a bit and go target to target through the dig. I have a few Garrett Pro-pointer AT's, an XP MI-6, a Fisher F-Pulse and the Minelab Pro-Find 35 and 40. Maybe compare them all??? Thanks for the view and comment!
My garrett is almost unusable. It continually false even after being sent back to garrett.
Thx. I presume the 'flashlight' stays on constantly ?
That is correct, acts also as a feature to let you know it's on or off. Thanks for the view and question!
Currently looking at pinpointers. ty
Well they're definitely several good ones on the market to choose from. Thank you for watching the video and for your comment let me know if you have any questions about this particular one.
Does it do the targeting in like the garret propointer does? So if you have a hole that is giving signal you can zero in on the signal
Only if you turn the sensitivity down manually. Not like how you can detune like you can on the Garrett AT Pro Pointer. Thank you for the view and comment!
What kind of warranty I had the pro fine 35 when used in water it leaks I love mine lab products but they have problems with leaking my equinox 800 leak 👍🇺🇸
The Pro-Find 40 has a 2 year warranty. If really concerned about leaking it would hurt to follow my advice and use a little silicone grease on the o-ring, see my video description for brand recommendation. Thanks for the view and question!
Can the manticore be tuned to sound and detect like a gold monster 1000?
Unfortunately, no I can't but if you have good or even decent gold patches to detect in a Gold Monster 1000 will pay for itself quickly. Huge difference when compared to the Manticore, especially in mineralized ground. Thanks for the view and comment!
I’m trying to find a metal detector or pinpointer than coin alert me when there’s a silver quarter mixed in with about 100 clad quarters when spread out on a table. Do you have any suggestions?
That's probably only possible with the XP MI-6 pinpointer connected to the XP Deus II where you would see a different VDI between the clad and silver quarter. But by the way you're describing it it sounds like you want to be able to waiver a pile of coins in here if there's a silver inside? If so you would have to set up very strict filtering and discrimination to only let the silver coin through. This is not going to be easy but it is absolutely possible on both the XP Deus 2 and another machine called the minelab Explorer 2 if you have the Sunray probe for it. If you're seriously considering something like this you can email me at the email and any of the descriptions of all of my videos. Thanks for the view and comment/question!
did you have both pinpointers set at same sensitivity?
Thank you for watching the video and for your question, yes I had them both maxed out at full sensitivity.
Have you tried the XP MI-6? Also a fantastic, rock solid pinpointer. Over the years I have had various issues with the Garrett AT-Pro pinpointer as well as the PF-35. This PF-40 is still new to me and I am using it currently, we'll see if it stands the rest of time. So far so good! Thanks for the view and comment!
How well do you think it works in ocean saltwater?
I had mine underwater in a river working on the bottom for a couple hours at around 6' deep and had no issues other than it tended to float up but this is a good thing for most people! If you mean by saltwater . . any interference or unstable in the wet sand, idk yet but a salt water trip is coming within days for me so I'll find out! Thanks for the view and question!
I would not use anything with petroleum in it to lube the rings. Petroleum will cause the O rings to swell.
We've discussed this in detail in the comments above. Thank you so much for watching the video and for your advice!
The only issue im having with my profind 40 is that it beeps constantly under water.. wont stop either
This is absolutely not normal at all. As you can see in this video it is silent until it detects metal. I wonder if your cap is either not tight or your rubber o ring is missing or damaged. Thank you for watching the video!
Price comparison?
Thank you for the view and comment/question! The prices on all of the major pinpointers is around $130-$150 this includes the Minelab Pro-Find 40, Fisher F-Pulse, Deus MI6, Garret Pro Pointer At, Nokta Accupoint. Very comparable prices.
mình ở việt nam có gửi được không ạ
Thank you for your question! Yes, you can absolutely send these to Vietnam. I appreciate your support!
Don't forget the alarm if one forgets to pick it up.
Absolutely!!! Great feature! Thanks for the view and comment!

I'm not sure but I will definitely find out for you! May I ask why you want to know? Thank you for the view and question.
How it works in salt water???
I honestly have not tested it in saltwater yet. I know that the Fisher F pulse being a pulse induction technology is really stable in saltwater. But I have not heard any complaints either about the Minelab profind 40 in salt water. The issue with salt water is just the amount of mineralization that can cause the pinpointer to false. I wish I had a better answer with more information for you but I just haven't been to a saltwater beach in a couple years. Thank you for watching the video and for taking the time to ask a question and leave a comment!
Petroleum jelly destroys o-rings.
This was true back when o-rings were made of tree rubber. Keep in mind vasoline is a very mild petroleum product designed to be used on skin and in and around the mouth, eyes and nose. Modern o-ring technology no longer uses rubber, they are made with polymers (elastomers) which are resistant to petroleum based chemicals. But if at all concerned, I still suggest using one of the 3 products in my description or the exact one I use called "Sea and Sea" which is a quality product. Thanks for the view and comment!
Did they price it at $20. No pinpointer is worth more than that.
Price in USA is $139. Thanks for the view and comment!
Co ban không ạ
i stil think those pin pointers are a rip off .. its like dey holding back BIGtime whit pinpointers ,
May I ask what your complaints are about it? I asked so I can sincerely gather information and I appreciate any honest feedback you can give me. Thanks for watching and hope to hear back from you!
🇷🇺🤝
Much appreciated!!
Thanks.
Thank you as well I really appreciate your view and comment!
