    By the way it transmits on a ESP chip you can turn on without an antenna because it has one inside it already

    hey buddy this module does not have crossfire built into it it just has a Wi-Fi or Bluetooth module and it has its own inbuilt PCB antenna No need to worry about antennas being on to power it up it talks to crossfire through that link be it Wi-Fi I believe,

    • @breaksteel
      @breaksteel  4 роки тому

      Completely true. This was a very early released model and I was not sure at the time if they were using the 5.8 antennas to send signal or just the internal WiFi antenna or both. Felt better to be safe than have a fried module. Thanks for the update, and thanks for watching!

    Hi Are you still preferring this over the immersion rf. Are the colors better

    • @breaksteel
      @breaksteel  4 роки тому

      The Fusion has kept its home in my goggles as my preference. It is slightly better for colors but it’s so subtle most people may not notice it. The huge selling point with the Fusion over the Rapid Fire is the connectivity. If you run Crossfire then the Fusion is a solid choice. If you don’t use Crossfire then it comes down to ease of use and functions. They both are a solid modules and have menu systems that are easily navigated. There’s a few functions that the Fusion has that the Rapid Fire doesn’t like channel lock. You will be pleased with ether one but will find more support for the Fusion as we move forward.

      Sounds like Fusion will be a good jump for you. We’re waiting for the Crossfire connectivity to be released. It’s been two weeks since I’ve checked for firmware updates to see if anything’s been pushed. It will be a fairly lateral move until those are pushed.

    • @breaksteel
      @breaksteel  4 роки тому +2

      The Fusion will suit you well. RapidFire gives a better picture but the connectivity for Crossfire is worth it. As for the extra power mod, it’s not needed on the HDO2. The reason you’d want it is to supply enough power for both the WiFi and the module itself. HDO2 supplies enough power for both to run without any extra wiring.

    • @cbsflows1041
      @cbsflows1041 4 роки тому +1

    • @breaksteel
      @breaksteel  4 роки тому

      With the HDO2 you can use the WiFi and module at the same time with NO power mods. The WiFi isn’t used for an app. WiFi is used to communicate with Crossfire. The only download you’ll want to make is TBS Agent X software to upgrade the firmware on the Fusion.

    Dont power on without antennas or you will damage it.......... doesn't calibrating the module without the antennas contradict that fact?

    • @breaksteel
      @breaksteel  5 років тому

      It actually doesn’t contradict anything. When the module is in calibration mode it’s not going to be transmitting anything. Therefore it would be safe to have antennas off.

      @rjredd 5 років тому +1

      @@breaksteel Ok, thats good to know. would you also recommend fitting the antennas when powering up via usb cable for connecting to pc for setup/ firmware updates etc.

    • @breaksteel
      @breaksteel  5 років тому

      After some digging it seems actually ok to power this up without antennas all the time. When I had filmed this I had figured they would run Crossfire over the 5.8mhz link. I did this as a precaution and felt it’s best to be on the safe side. They are going to be using WiFi for Crossfire which has an always connected antenna.

    • @DavidHanniganJr
      @DavidHanniganJr 3 роки тому

      @@breaksteel I believe it's more (and I could be wrong, there's a bunch of shit ain't figured out about this fusion module yet) like it finds multiple of the same signals to lock onto to provide I guess the best unicorn magic experience that it can provide. I know that every time that I've, you know, actually selected it and allowed it to run through. I have never gotten a list of channels. I've only ever had it take me to my channel for my kwad. that being said I've never actually selected that option when somebody else's kwad is on and or to find somebody else's channel. I know module doesn't have any clue in hell who's kwad is who's. Just saying for context. Just one of the many functions and features that I'd like a hard definition of in the Fusion.

    • @breaksteel
      @breaksteel  3 роки тому

      It’s made to find all the available channels with a good signal. Then it lists them for easy swap between them. Mostly used at races or when flying in groups. What FW are you on that it’s not listing those channels?

    • @DavidHanniganJr
      @DavidHanniganJr 3 роки тому

      Not exactly 100% sure right now. But I know it's (at very least) the latest official release. But I want to say that it's on a stable nightly/beta release, or something.

Oh yeah don’t burn out your rx module with antenna off lol. 😭😭😭you must of got a free one your really trying to push it. I couldn’t push a product that is fundamentally poor in every way. Tbs products are second to none until they tried to make a module. Not good.

    • @breaksteel
      @breaksteel  4 роки тому

      D man Can D I’ve read and responded to each and every comment you’ve made. You have issue with the picture it offers. This is ether user error (not calibrating) or high expectation in a spec that wasn’t ever promoted to beat rapid fire. Next, I did pay for this module. Also note that I spent a great deal of time talking about ribbon cable connector that broke the first time I touched it.
      Regarding not powering on without antennas. I was not sure at them time if they were going to transmit data using 5.8, WiFi, or both. Turned out they use the internal WiFi antenna so powering without antennas is perfectly acceptable. Finally, you keep saying I’m pushing this. I’m not. I enjoy mine. I own the RapidFire as well. Fusion stays in my goggles. I get no kick backs from TBS. It doesn’t matter if TBS sells 1 or 1 million of these, I still make $0. What matters to me is it works. If your so hooked on image quality, why are you not using the DJI HD system?

      I have many quads all analogue and there will be new tech soon for hd02 bytefrost will be developed or some other tech will out before long. As for user error none what so ever I just expected more from tbs my one and only complaint just don’t want people to be seduced by fusion. If unicorn exist it’s red mate. I don’t have issue with you just fusion I am not trolling you just fusion I am sure your a nice guy but fusion is piss poor. I have been an rc enthusiast since the tamiya sand scorcher came out many many years ago and spent half my childhood working in a model shop so I have decades of experience my friend. But when it comes to passing judgement if something is shit it’s shit and that’s that. And fusion is shit and you know it. I will be buying dji at some point for 7 inch builds I have many quads and significantly more knowledge then you if you can’t recognise a WiFi antenna at first glance youve dug a bit of a hole for yourself there so quit while you can.
