  • This is the Taranis Dual Arming and VTX Switch Setup video. In this video I show you how to setup a Realpit VTX switch and install it on an ignition switch to give you safer arming. This is a necessary on the large quads and a really good idea on mini quads. Having a two switch arming sequence prevents you from arming a quad accidentally. With this setup you'll be able to plug in your quad and turn on you VTX when you want to. Saving battery power and keeping your VTX cool until your ready to fly. This is also great for a crashed quad so you don't cook your VTX while looking for it. There's also now little chance of arming it accidentally.

It’s a very good idea. I’ve managed to arm quads accidentally and with the Beast class build I knew it was time to implement it. I hope your quad didn’t do any damage to you?

I don't think you have a bug in AUX 8. AUX 8 is your RSSI channel so when you arm you are also powering the VTX and thus receiving a value for RSSI. Plus, I put ignition on a temporary/spring loaded switch and use Befaflight PREARM mode on that switch.

You are on to something! RSSI is set to channel 8 and still sending that analogue signal. I’m using LQ for crossfire so I should omit the use of that channel.
Initially I wanted to use that spring loaded switch for a “starter” style switch but decided against it. I’m used to using that switch for another quad to announce voltage readings when pressed. I may change it at some point, as it’s really easily done.

What channel on crossfire are you using for LQ?

Its likely on ch8 which invalidates my earlier statement of omitting it.
