been waiting for this functionality to become activated, it was the deciding factor between choose the fusion over rapid fire.
Great Lee 👍🏻 , liking that TBs fusion
Just got this system and it couldn’t be a better time!! So exited
Thanks for the review! Very interested in buying the TBS fusion
Thanks for the video. Wondering how the TBS app will work. An app has a tremendous potencial: another way to check channel settings and strength (with an easier layout), use the phone as live view to share with spectators and save DVR’s. Looks promising. Let’s wait for some updates from TBS and we’ll see.
I still don’t understand what the cloud is for? Why can’t the fusion and the crossfire module just talk to each other via WiFi? Why does it have to go to a cloud in between?
I was thinking something similar - using an ad-hoc wireless network.
I think, it's just technically harder to implement. One of the devices needs to be a server, another needs to be a client, one is AP, another is STA. But if you have a central server, both devices can operate as clients and just gets simpler.
Does TBS go out of its way to be as confusing as possible?
very nice.great review as allways Lee thankyou and good morning lol.work for me but velocidrone first before the kids wake up
I got your message...
Great review, Lee! It really looks like a great system! 😃
Payless is always on the spear tip of innovation baby why we follow good content brother
Ahh and this is how remote I d will be implemented.
This, exactly! VTX Follow and telemetry data to the Fusion module are just decoys to make us swallow the Remote ID pill.
@@Gosuminer not all all my boys. first of all remote ID hasnt been passed and there are 0 guidelines setup yet so theres no way we could develop a remote ID system, as wed need to know the guidelines of the bill. #2 TBS would never make remote ID mandatory if we ever implemented the Feature for you to use.
@@Mikechin517 I see, thank you. If remote ID is passed I can understand that TBS will need to support it to enable pilots to comply with such a law. I welcome the commitment to leave the decision to the pilot to use remote ID or not. Maybe TBS has big plans with the TBS cloud but I would prefer my devices to talk to each other only and not to some database I do not control. Other customers may see that differently, this is just the feedback of someone who has just invested 450$ in Crossfire :-).
Very informative video as usual. Can you please let me know what antenna types go with the Tbs fusion? Thanks for reply
Hello! You are up early!!! Great review, thanks!
yes too early good
Please watch the recording of Trappys launch and demo video from 10/Jan2020 in the TBS lounge where he shows how it works and covers some of the detail in more depth than I could here under NDA.. More videos coming as I am able to. Some really cool stuff coming..
there has not been an update ot the hardware at this time, it is expected for later this year
brainFPV is a highly impressive jar of smart cookies. the little things(vector imaging) are what matter. I wonder how two modules like this work together in a pair like the new Eachine EV300Ds for exemple.
Sorry Lee, but it seems that WiFi to your phone will end up as a FAA transponder of sorts. Is TBS looking to get ahead of the curve on technology to pin point drone operators? other than that, the rest of this tech is cool.
Nice review Lee.
Please watch the recording of Trappys launch and demo video from yesterday in the TBS lounge where that is discussed at length...
All very good, but a bit over engineered. It would be easier to use BT as the Fusion would always be within 1M of the Crossfire?
Then plans are to use the cloud to allow additional functionality (such as race organizers to assign frequencies in a race).
Jeff Cap'nfpv Long oh now that’s clever.
Sooo much stuff coming I can't talk a out yet.. Its very cool...
@@Painless360 so true!
Great review! Have you tried the DJI digital FPV?
Yep. A technically impressive system.
James are you crazy saying that on a tbs product vid ? Trappy will find you. Lol dji is completely rediculous man, theres a 20mm board vtx coming, RIP analog
@@Painless360 Ok so you know. ;-) And they are cheaper too.
Good video thank u
I bought this a while back when it first came out, at the time TBS kept promising to upgrade the receiver antenna unit for $10. do you know if that Unit ever became available? it would replace the antenna unit under the screen?
I'll be making updates as I get the detail.. Stay tuned!
@@Painless360 thank you!!!
Still wondering, what the advantage is with the tbs cloud.
It is still exciting
You make the change once to the settings you want and everything is configured automatically... Happy flying
The wifi link could be hooked to a phone app that broadcast the pilot location. I have heard this might become mandatory in some countries. TBS is wisely looking forward.
Took the words right outta my mouth :D
I would like to use a app as a black box, sounds like it could possibly be a DVR too?
I this considered a flight recorder for non-sups of the GOV?
Any clue how the laptimer feature works? Do u need any additional hardware to use it like a gate sensor or something
Good stuff 👍👊👊
I see the point of connecting the system to a mobile phone (although I do not quite see now the kind of benefits we could get, but I am sure there will be interesting ones!). What I am wondering is: because the link via Crsf is so good, could there be some video passed through like that and then linked back to the goggles?? Smart audio already enables the transfer of info of the FC to the goggles...
Ability to have the RX and TX always OK the same channel and sync automatically. Dynamic VTX power management based on RSSI or range. Have smarter OSD systems running in the goggles not the model... There are lots of things it could do. Should be a fun one to watch...
Seems clunky to have the mobile or wifi router in between the transmitter and fusion device.
So in it's current state can you control your vtx or crossfire module settings in the module osd? Or is that in the future? That is the most exciting aspect for me. Anything to ditch the slow and finicky lua script for those of us that use the micro module.
Today in TBS Facebook page there will be a presentation from Trapy with all those things you are talking about,. The Fusion Firmware of the current Video is Way outdated. And i am sure there are some "Ground Breaking Stuff" you do not expect!! at least for UI
Always trusted TBS to dp us right and so far they have you pay for what you get and in the long run I put my trust in TBS where it really matters this will just make things easier to set up and check as time goes on can't wait!
🍻cheese🥃
Any chance of a video describing the menu functions of the fusion v2? I noticed there are a lot of new functions in the settings that aren't even explained on the official fusion manual from the TBS website
Any ones specifically?
@@Painless360 Thanks for getting back to me, the main ones I'm struggling to find info on are: Settings - VTX SYNCH, DYNAMIC VTX and MUTE VRX
Marc Stelzner got back to me about those features, he said he's working on an updated manual that will include them...vtx sync - if your vtx is connected to the crossfire rx, they will sync. auto= set a channel on the fusion and the vtx will follow...dynamic vtx- like the crossfire dynamic power. for this id wait for the non-internet based connection...mute vrx- no sound from the vtx will be passed to the goggles. Updated manual coming in a couple of weeks
they would better make some affortable antenne tracker that is compatible with the crossfire system.
You Didn't give George K. (Mr Achilles Pro) proper credit, he designed the OSD software! In addition to Beta testing Fusion, I have also been his Alpha and Beta tester for the Achilles firmware for the AKK diversity module. He too is a very smart individual!
I'm keen on the inter connectivity between the module and the crossfire (As a crossfire user), but is it worth getting the module now or waiting for the revision?
There hasn't been an update for a while now. I'd get it when you need it, or can find it in stock ;) Happy flying!
So i have to send my fusion back to get the hardware upgrade? He is not selling it for me to install? ty love the vids
No, when released it will be a replacement for the back board which you can install yourself.
I'll be making a video on it when I get one..
Love TBS gear, hesitant about anything cloud-related. Just a little on edge on account of this whole remote ID nonsense
Please watch the recording of Trappys launch and demo video from yesterday in the TBS lounge where that is discussed at length...
How about smartaudio if vtx connect to Rx nano,, can i get smartaudio to?
Are you able to connect to tbs cloud? I have my xf and fusion connected to the same wifi but they’re not communicating with one another. Any suggestions?
I'd check you're using the latest version of the firmware.. Best of luck
Hi @Painless360 is it possible to connect Mission planner to Crossfire using WIFI ? Thanks
Check out the Crossfire playlist, I cover that and MAVLINK in those videos.. Best of luck with it
Painless360 Thank you for your prompt feedback.
I checked the videos, but only found the Bluetooth way. Since the new firmware changes I wanted to know if WiFi was possible to connect to Mavlink or if it was only for tbs cloud for the moment.
Thanks for your help, and your great videos anyway 👏🤝
My fusion module seems to get really hot plugged in via usb and the goggles. Are they supposed to run this hot?
Mine can get warm but not hot... Best of luck
How does this TBS Fusion work on the Dji Goggles with the Module Mod? do i still need the external power mod for wifi? 🤔
Depends on the amp rating for the 5v BEC in the module you use...
Which antennas are recommended? Which patch do you use?
I use MenaceRC here.. Pico patch..
Can i buy this for ATTITUDE V3 MODEL FSV1045
It should work but check with the seller before you buy.. Best of luck!
I have a question I just did this update to my nano tx nd fusion nd the full size tx but I cant get wifi to show up for the full size tx. Nano nd fusion work and connect with no issues
I'm creating videos about this at the moment so not sure what it could be. I'd ask in the TBS lounge..
@@Painless360 That would be great thank you
I mean I just want to fly the damn thing
The whole time i thought the vrx is supposed to connect directly to the crossfire module. I like it a lot less now that i know it's going through the internet or at least an app in the future
The Vrx is connected via wifi, the cloud will allow races frequencies to assign by the race organizer (as well as other functions to be announced later)
How do you stop the beeping sound off keeps beeping
I've never seen that. Mine only beeps if I have it in 'Model Find' mode...
@@Painless360 after hearing were the sound comes from its from the analog adapter v3 not the fusion module.any idea?
No idea, I've not had one of those here. Voltage alarm maybe? Best of luck!
Funny tech keeps improving , yet government's keep trying to kill the hobby. I guess if I were to be truthful, I saw this coming... even so the hobby has lasted longer than I thought it would....thanks for the information.
I'm guessing you are based in the USA?
So long Rapid fire
I am not for wifi antenna on my hobby gadgetes because that would mean that some evil people can if they want manipulate my things as easily as hacking a computer and then connecting to your devices. So no, not for me these wifi things :)
I swear I will never buy a fusion module if the TBS mobile app needed for advanced features tries to access the internet. With all the legal restrictions in place the last thing I want is a company or agency collecting data of my flight sessions.
Please watch the recording of Trappys launch and demo video from yesterday in the TBS lounge where that is discussed at length...
