Saw Led ZEP.play Perth Australia in 1972, I'm 81 years young and still loving Led Zep, I'm also still rocking mainly in my rocking chair. Hi from Australia love and peace from down under. 🎶🎵🎶🎵😷👍
The young man will come to understand that Zeppelin can play him anything he wants to hear. Wait till you see how they change thru the years how they blend sounds from around the world into works of magic.
Your Son knows his stuff. Zeppelin definitely is formed from the delta and Chicago blues. Communication Breakdown and Heartbreaker and The Wanton Song would be some good rock songs for your Son to hear
We see those as classic rock songs but heartbreaker is played around blues chords and even wanton song which sounds so heavy has a jazz influenced drum beat which makes it so unique
One reason Jimmy chose Robert as a singer is because they had things in common like that they both loved the blues. And, obviously, Robert was an amazing singer who rolled well with all of the flavors of different genres that appeared in their music.
Don't argue guys. The point of 60's and 70's music was for each band or artist to create the kind of music they wanted to create and not worry about what genre people would put them in. You want to know what kind of music this is? It's Led Zeppelin music!!!!!!
Robert is singing "call and response" with Jimmy's guitar...Jimmy plays and Robert tries to mimic it with his voice, which he does so well!! Please watch this live from MSG 1973, its 27 minutes long, but will blow your mind!!🎵🎶🎵
Someone pointed out why the LZ sound is so rich. 'Cuz Jimmy sings & the gitar mimics Jimmy & the drums mimic the guitar. They wrap you up into the music & take you to a special place.
"Call and response" originated in early southern blues as a vocal technique. I wonder if Plant did this intentionally or simply naturally. Either way this song always blows my mind, but I will check it out.
I just watched this reaction for the first time, and I love the LFR Family, but you have to remember when explaining this to your young son that this was recorded in a time before you were even born. Led Zeppelin was cutting edge Rock at the time with the versatility of multiple genres of music. Keep up the good work, and you have a wonderful family!
In my opinion Led zeppelin is the best band in history. No matter what the played it's was amazing. There blues rock, folk rock, hard rock, everything was the best I ever heard
What Jojo is missing is that his generation listened to music, we all FELT music. A great song sings about being Dazed and Confused. A legendary song will make you feel Dazed and Confused.
I'm on your side JoJo!! Led Zeppelin IS a blues based rock and roll band! I'm 58 years old and grew up with this great music! VAN, you are correct also! They are rock and roll too! I love watching the father/son dynamic you guys have! Keep up the good work on both channels! Peace and Love - TALLPAUL
"Nice blues song..." -- At that point in the song, son was right......for a few seconds. For a lot of people my age, i.e. old, this was the first Led Zeppelin we heard and it was unlike anything else in the world.
I watched this reaction of you two again for the second time. I missed something you said to your son during the first viewing, but picked up on it this time around. You answered him "because they can". I love it.
You're both right -- this is blues rock with a little psychadelic vibe thrown in. Zeppelin's music has a lot of influences, blues being at the top of the list. And in turn, they influenced just about everything that came after.
The greatest band to ever grace the stage, they were then they are today and will forever be tomorrow the greatest 4 master craft musicians ever to come together
The funny part is that Zeppelin took American blues, made it heavy, made it their own, then brought it from England to the US. And, we devoured it!! It took a British band to sell rock and blues in the US.
The memories of this album..drove from NY to Florida and back blasting this in the back seat. My mother didn't appreciate it. She said "this isn't music.. They'll never last" joke was on her!. She wasn't cool like you Van..
The song Rock and Roll by The Led Zeppelin is a song which in itself describes rock and roll!!! Also, on a side note Led Zeppelin was a blues band. Howbeit a blues band on dragster fuel!!!! Thanks for the reactions!!! 🙏
I didn't discover Led Zeppelin until 1982, I was 15, and they instantly became my favorite band. Then, it's hard to imagine, just 4 years later, G'n'R jumps out of nowhere and I fell all in. There is no real way of comparing the two, both were completely of and ahead of their respective times. As groups they both equalled more than the sum of their parts and soared high above their contemporaries. Zep will always be my favorite band, but Guns will always represent my rebellious self-destructive late teens.
How is this not a blues and rock fusion? Nothing wrong with that. They captured so many genres. And so many hearts. There is no cookie cutter shaped Zeppelin. Your son is brilliant. Actually. He sees a lot that other people go through life without ever seeing. Kudos, Dad. He could have some really great conversations with my grown kids. Glad to see you showing your son the God's of Rock! Zeppelin pretty much wrote the book on everything hard and heavy! Everyone followed after zeppelin to what became metal!
