Can’t wait until you hear Rock and Roll and The Immigrant Song by Led Zeppelin. 👍❤️🙏
I must be honest and say I'm pretty over Zeppelin, but Tangerine is a song that sits well , it's a beautiful song , and Over the Hills and far away , those two are worth a listen , lov on- yah all
@@Ducatirati Two songs only out of hundreds of them, honestly, is not of this world, from jazz, avant-garde, classical music, or even opera lovers !!!
How backed up is the buy a cup of coffee? I bought one 2 months ago. Chevelle - fizgig
For the record Tool is definitely one of my favorite "newer" groups. I know that's an old group for most guys but when you're as old as I, well you'll understand. This was a time when music launched careers and first albums were vital. You'll find many gems on groups first albums. Enjoy the journey.
This song makes me hurt myself. My old body wants to rock but it really does hurt....I live in a retirement community and some of my neighbors just don't get it.
Lol. That one fast section is fierce and long.
I love this comment, and appreciate you.
That's cool!!! 👍
LOL
I … hurt myself today.
Just imagine if you can hearing this for the first time 50 years ago. There was NOTHING like it- it was beyond our imagination- it was such a fabulous time to be a teen
I heard them over 50 years ago and still love them today. Saw them in ‘75.
There’s still nothing like it.
Now that's the truth 😊
Mad respect to someone who can hear the drummer. RIP John Bonham.
John Bonzo Bonham , the best ...
I've been to see Bonham's Son Jason play drums with The Led Zeppelin Experience , several times. Took my son, to see A few Led Zeppelin cover bands as well . Kashmir is the best cover band.
@@kimmi7199 Did you see Bonzo’s son play with Heart at the Kennedy Center Honors? It’s nothing short of epic and heartbreaking.

@@kimmi7199 I’m so jealous
I am a 70 year old woman and loved Led Zeppelin from the first time I heard them. I remember spending many hours in my room listening to especially their first and second albums. I would put the record on and lay on the bed with the lava light glowing and just let the music take me away. This was in 1970. I'll never forget. Wonderful to see you enjoying this greatness.
Girl, me too!
We all wanted Robert Plant...remember?(I'm 70 too)
69 her and yaaaaz
I do believe, the longer his hair got, the MORE WE STILL WANTED HIM...LMAO😂😂 ACTUALLY IT WAS JUST THAT, sex appeal, he had!!! Loved those " Low Rider"tight jeans! He was super 🔥 HOT!!
The first album I ever bought was when "Houses of the Holy" came out in 73 for my 13th b-day. It was 6.00 well spent!!
The thing that blows my mind about the great 70s bands is they did it all with analog electronics… think about that. No autotune, no fancy modern filters, just pure raw talent. They were MUSIC incarnate and regarded as ROCK GODS.
The equipment was all analogue, but they definitely had some chemical enhancements lol. The 70s ran on coke.
He the only one but Iam sure the professor can do it. I you my know he the number one drummer in the world RIP
Jimmy Page talks about getting a newfangled custom distortion pedal in like '69
I know what you’re getting at, I know what you mean. Zepplin had raw talent and many people don’t realize this.
My guitarist and bassist sons make their own peddles, my youngest plays bass and electric guitar, acoustic, regular guitar as does his older brother
Led Zeppelin is, without any doubt, the greatest hard rock band of all time. Hands down.
Agree 100%....it's not even debatable.
A friend of mine is a drum instructor, has been for years. It's not unusual for drum students to say "I want to sound like (insert drummer)". His standard answer for when someone wanted to sound like Bonham was "Sorry, if you want to sound like John Bonham, you have to be John Bonham". And this was Led Zeppelin just getting started.
I was 16 in middle school loving Led Zeppelin had a crush on Robert Plant.. i’m now 67 years old, and still loving their music and still in love with Robert Plant ❤
I,m 65 and love Zeppelin, and, jajhaja, like you, I had a crush on Robert......
The tall cool one.
Heck yeah!
Robert Plant is a God

Other drummers have played this song, even John Bonham's son Jason has played it with Zeppelin. But No one, I mean no one could ever play it like Bonzo. No one has ever had the technique combined with the feel that he has. And I think no one will ever have that combination. But the four of them together is like they are aliens from a god planet. Oh, for those who haven't heard the live version - 1973 Live at Madison Square Gardens - it will blow you away, literally.
Absolutely!

All time favorite band, hands down. There is Led Zeppelin, and then there is everyone else!
Agree. At this time and age I prefer Tool but Led Zeppelin is what made me become a musician.
Knowing just how young all the band members were when they created this song/album too. Just amazing
The author of the song is Jake Holmes ...even the Yardbirds made the firts remake of the song with Page ...sorry for my bad english
ua-cam.com/video/pTsvs-pAGDc/v-deo.htmlsi=poD8u9wdYynkAQfC
You think Led Zeppelin created this song? Are you insane? They claim to have written it.
They didn't even change the lyrics Let alone the music. They didn't write this song. They stole it. And on the album they take credit for writing it.
For your convenience I have provided you with a copy of the original
Yes, Page wrote this with Jake Holmes - pre Zep
Nobody does this, makes this anymore. A whole generation of genius lost
Correct, that first lp plant was 19 and Jimmy put through until this day one of the best studio LP’s in history! 💯%
We knew way back then - once we put the needle to the vinyl and listened for the first time, just how special this music was.
It really did change me.
Maybe give us some HipHop recommendations?
Yes!
Sure did!
I was a 13 year old girl just starting to explore my music tastes. One winter day I walked downtown to spend my Christmas money and went into the music store. There was a new album out from a new band with a funny name. I took the sample to the listening area and dropped the needle and the first chords of "Good Times Bad Times" banged out of the headphones. Immediately spent my money, ran home and played the whole album. This was the 4th song and by the time it started playing I was already in a trance. Talk about a seismic shift!
Greatest music band in the history of planet Earth. They have no equal.
I was introduced to led zeppelin in 1977 via a tape recorder in a telephone box in Somerset when I was on holiday. I was 15 and went to a barn dance - yes a barn dance - and accepted the last dance from someone who tapped on my shoulder. A coupe of days later we met in a phone box in north Petherton, Somerset. That was when I first heard stairway to heaven, live, and fell in love with led zeppelin. The boyfriend fell by the wayside a few years later. All these years later; I’m now aged 62, I’m just as much in love with led zeppelin. Btw said bf also introduced me to Pink
Floyd in 1980 when he travelled over 100 miles on his motorcycle to see me. ❤ thanks Hugh 🥰
Hey Polo. I'm 73 and I must admit that my generation was spoiled. There was so much great music back in the mid-to-late sixties and early seventies and Led Zeppelin was a great example of that. Shout out to you for reacting to this one. Peace.
I like to say that Page is the lightning, Bonzo is the thunder, Plant is the wind moaning and JPJ on keyboards is the rain. They came together and created the perfect storm. When Jimmy pulls out his bow (violin) during live shows, this song is about a half hour long. Jimmy was already performing this song with the violin bow back when he was still with the Yardbirds
Very poetic and true. Great comparison.
They’re quite an auditory Gestalt
Oh wow, perfectly put :-)
@cynergy4
Thats a really good way to describe the song. Tbh, I never thought of it that way and personally, I think it's impossible to put into words just how special Led Zeppelin is but if I were to try and find the words to describe their talent (especially in this song) what you said would be a good way to put it. These guys knew from the very beginning that they had something special between the 4 of them. At least that's what it seems to me from everything I've ever read and watched with their interviews and documentaries. I Love Led Zeppelin and no one can compare for sure!
It's pretty much how I describe most of their songs. They didn't just create music, they created magic.
Zep feeds my spirit @@priscillasanders9427
Zep will never be outdated or get old. They are timeless, the standard in which all others will be measured.
What makes them great is that they have stood the test of time.
It never ceases to surprise me how effortlessly Led Zepplin can shift from Blues to Rock without missing a beat.
Jimmy's studio experience shows through in that respect.

This was off their 1st album in 1969. I was in high scool and someone had seen them live on their 1st U.S. tour and came to school raving about them. My friends ran out and got their album and the rest is history. Now you understand why they took off like a rocket. My parents said WTF is that!
No one else sounded like them!.
If you're interested in the roots of this song check out the original by Jake Holmes, released in 1967. ✌️
YEAH BABY!
The Yard birds did a version with Page. This version is on steroids.
Ironically they were panned in by the English music mags. They came to the US and hit it big.
@@chrishickey7502 Strangely enough it was the opposite for Jimi Hendrix.
Growing up in the 70s was incredible musically. So many phenominal artists and all with their own sound. Hasn't happened since.
I agree. The decade was a cornucopia of musical goodness. Turn on the radio any time of day or night and you were guaranteed to be treated to a classic song in the making
We were blessed to be in the 70s
I feel so blessed to have been born in the 50s and privileged to hear the best music of all time...60s, 70s, 80s 🙌🏽
Thank you for this amazing channel and reminding me of my youth that still lives on today 💝
You said the drummer is insane? The whole band insane, insanely incredible! I've been listening to them for decades and they sound better each time I listen
AMEN BRO!...
I am 70 and have been with them as a fan since 1967. It has been a privilege.
But John Bonham is also absolutely incredible.
Bonham holds a tight and inexhaustible rhythm in Achilles Last Stand. He not only carries the song, he drives it. (But when does he not?) 🥰
One of my favorite Zeppelin songs!
My ALL TIME favorite LZ tune! But I sincerely Love and regularly jam on their entire catalog to this day.
So true. One of my favourites.
Achilles Last Stand is a great song to have sex to. Not even trying to be gross.. but Bonzos drums make for a perfect driving rhythm for some sexy times.

After listening to this for over 50 years, IT NEVER GETS OLD!😂 I saw them do this live in Cleveland in 1969 at Music Carnival on the east side. We had seats in aisle five, seats one and two facing their set up 30 feet away. They played their entire first album and most of their as yet unrealesed second. Jimmy played parts of Dazed and Confused with a violin bow to get that erie sound. In 1969, it was MIND BLOWINNG and 54 years later it still is! Great Reaction! THATS HOW WE FELT!😂❤

Polo has the smile in his eyes, so it's all good.
And this was only their first album. Late 60's, they were in their early 20's. Incredible talent.
I know, right? I think about that a lot.
"Lots of people talking, few of them know. Soul of a woman was created below." One of the greatest song lyrics ever! 😃

Rock, Blues, Psychedelic, Metal...they did it all!!!
Dazed & Confused continues to give me the chills all the time. It is so weird and atmospheric, but filled with raw emotion.
The crazy thing for me is the fact that Bonham and Plant were around 21 years old at this point. Each member of the band are at the pinnacle of their respective instruments, phenomenal band!

Painting and Sculpture are art expressed in space; Music is art expressed over time.
This whole album smokes. I know there are bigger hits on their other albums, but end to end, this one is my absolute favorite. The thing about John Bonham is that he could thunder, but he also knew when to disappear. Absolutely brilliant.
Every album smokes.
I never get tired of Led Zeppelin. One of the things to remember when listening to this song is to realize that there was nothing else out there that sounded anything like this... and this track was on Zeppelin's debut album. That's some bold sh@t. I can imagine the record executives scratching their heads on the decision to put this track on their debut album. But it paved the way for all the unusual and groundbreaking music to follow from these guys.
Yes!! This music was a moment in time that can never be re-captured. The 70's brought out so much musical greatness. so glad you enjoyed it ❤
You are absolutely correct sir. In the pantheon of rock gods LED ZEPPELIN are in the top row! EASY! 💯🔥
This is why they're Led Zeppelin and still one of the greatest bands ever. You have Bohnam back there wailing on the drums, Page's guitar is practically talking to you, Plant doing his thing and Jones backing it all up. Over fifty years later and their music is not only still played on modern rock stations, but they're still considered by many as the greatest. Good to you see you continuing down this rabbit hole of Zeppelin, they have a ton of great music.
"Comin in like James Brown"
That's such a perfect complement for the vocals in this song lol
People can play it. But not like John Bonham.
The touch, groove, dynamic, it's like a signature. One of a kind. True story
. Thank you for your service and video.
Keep up the good work
All those sounds you hear are completely new when they came out. No one had ever heard anything like this - playing the guitar with a bow, playing the reverb with one's hand... the creativity of this group was like a formula 1 car, popping with power and - the moment that flag fell - blasted off into Rock n Roll immortality. Listening with you allows me to re-experience that blast anew. Thank you for that pleasure, POLO!
This song is "Haunting". It gives you chills. Ive been a "Zeppelin" fan since 1968 and "The Yardbirds", before that. 😊
Plants voice is just out of this world. His voice is so strong and soulful at the same time. The greatest.
When you bring together a lead vocalist, bass player, lead guitarist and drummer who’s mastery of their individual instruments is beyond comparison, you get Led Zeppelin!
Just turned 71 here. Love to see my generation represented. Saw them twice in L.A. early 70's. 😁
After all, it’s dazed and confused. Musically and lyrically. John Bonham nails the drums with as much precision as Jimmy Page rakes that lead. John Paul Jones is playing that bass in sync with John Bonham. (I bet Bonham’s drummer son could play his daddy’s works) There’s nobody who sings like Robert Plant. After all he’s a bad-assed blues singer and an awesome one at that.☮️💟
Great breakdown
Yep Jason could play like dad,tis why Zepp only did their rare concert if Jason played drums..they wouldn't of sounded like Zepp without those unique drums 😉👍

Yes, many drummers can play this but the feel he delivers cannot be replicated. That’s the beauty of music, the human element
It's hard to believe this album came out in 1969, when these guys were still in their early twenties!
IT WAS SO FRIGGIN AWESOME!!!
Dazed and Confused is a masterpiece.
This song from 1973 show at MSG is a must. The guitar solo is phenomenal❤ Much love from Canada❤🇨🇦
As a drummer myself, the song in itself is playable... but I think your buy me a coffee donation was getting at is this. Nobody can play this song with the FEEL that John Bonham approaches the music with. Everyone in the band is baring their souls in this track. Incredible song
It’s the same with Hendrix and others from that era, it’s the feel especially the lack of click tracking or auto tune which spoils the feel gained from the soul in the song.
Zeppelin has always been my favorite band. First album I ever bought was Houses of the Holy. I was 12 yrs old. I must've played it 10 times that weekend. I have every album Zep has made. Never ever get tired of them.
Such an incredible 4 lads... full of talent.
He was very inventive and had the funk.
12:37 "You guys let me know in the comments... can anyone play this [drums like John Bonham]?" Dude. Drumming is a matter of milliseconds. John Bonham was known as a master of "playing behind the beat," i.e. his backbeat (the snare on 2 and 4) is slightly retarded (timing-wise), but ONLY IN THE BEST WAY. In music, this is called the Swing or the Groove.
Yes, Danny Carey or most anyone (myself included) CAN play this song, and technically hit all the correct beats at the correct time... but NO ONE will EVER sound like Bonham (without straight-up copying him) because no one CONSISTENTLY hits behind the beat the way he did. LZ didn't even bother to continue when Bonzo died (on whose vomit? You can't really "dust" for vomit, you know).
I don't know, perhaps Bonzo's son Jason has the right genes to allow him to do something similar... he certainly had his dad there to teach him the trade as he was growing up. But I've only seen him when he played behind Ann and Nancy Wilson (of the excellent band, Heart) when they did STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN right in front of the surviving members of LZ at the Kennedy Center Honors some years ago... it was excellent, though. (I've wanted to marry Nancy Wilson since 1977, but no such luck, yet...)
I was raised on Led Zeppelin. When I discovered the blues in my 20's, it felt like coming home. I didn't even know how good I had it until the 80's happened and this kind of rock gave way to electronically manipulated music. Which was good and had its place but wow I missed this stuff.
I can’t agree more
It’s not the difficulty of the drums, tons of people can “play” it. It’s the feel, the intangible nuances that are hard to put into words, that make JB special.
You gotta listen to a whole concert and see the interaction of the band. This is why I love Zeppelin. There music is a mind captivating experience.
The live version of this song from The Song Remains the Same clocks in at almost 30 minutes. Insane jam session.
I saw Led Zeppelin perform this in concert in 1969 and 1970. It was electrifying in person.
I'm 69, a grandma...still rock out!!! My son and granddaughter both musically inclined..❤😎😎👍🏼
Just think of the pure talent of Robert in this track. The soul in his 21 year old voice is iconic.
Led Zeppelin defies explanation when it comes to music. Their style and open willingness to experiment has no equal. Each time you listen to a song from their extensive catalog you are surprised. My favorite band by far. Thanks for the reaction.
Ahhh. One of my favorites from way back when it came out. The difference between Tool and Zeppelin is that this came out in 1969. 1969. Think about that. That’s astounding.
Tool?! Who’s Tool??!!??!

It came out in the 1950s.
And yes Led Zeppelin claims to have written the music and the Lyrics on the album credits.
"these guys are god-like. if this were church, i think i would empty my wallet" best endorsement ever.
I'm a 71 year old grandmother and still love Led Zeppelin! When I first heard them I just got it! The way they played music instantly made my ears happy. (And let me tell you but Robert Plant was a rock sex symbol too.} My friends and I would listen to their albums and other bands then smoke a bit. Then we'd also discuss what we heard and munch on snacks. It was all done organically and not organized. Sharing music was important to us too. It was fun to listen to a new band introduced by a friend. Since we were always semi broke it was a great way to hang out on weekends and not spend a fortune. Those were the days!
Love your Zeppelin reactions!! Watching the birth of a new fan is a beautiful thing.
To think the singer, Robert Plant, and the drummer, John Henry Bonham, were only 20 yrs old when they recorded this song in late Sept/early Oct of 1968. Those distinctive sounding Slingerland toms, which Bonham really brings out the musical tone of those drums so well.
Those "weird" sounds you mentioned was Jimmy Page drawing a violin bow across the strings of his 1959 Fender Telecaster. It's some incredible sounds he got out of that combo. Those flurrying bursts in the guitar solo was really incredible to say the least and his sound was absolutely fantastic.
Robert Plant's raw vocals and passion comes through so well on this track.
Jonesy's bass lines really kept the whole together - thick and meaty sounds were abound from his 1962 Fender Jazz bass.
They were absolutely masters and this song doesn't stop. It's a non-stop music cacophony is sheer brilliance ! Great reaction Polo !
There's a wonderful live version of this song from their movie, The Song Remains the Same, released in late 1976, but recorded at Madison Square Garden in late July of 1973. It is around 27 minutes long. You should check it out. That would be a wonderful treat for you and us. ❤ Happy Holidays to you and yours.
Not a violin bow, but a cello bow. :) The story is a violin bow, the strings weren't strong enough for Jimmy, they kept breaking. And when you see him play it live, the bow is way too long to be a violin bow. :)
The perfect combination of the perfect combination of musicians, in that specific segment of time.
Every song on Album #1 is 100% primo
The entire first album, in order. Masterpiece
Dazed and confused is from Led Zeppelin’s debut album. Check out “Babe I’m Gonna Leave You “ and How Many More Times “ from the same album. Zeppelins first 2 albums Led Zeppelin and Led Zeppelin 2 will blow you away. The Ultimate in Blues Rock.
How many more times is killa!
How Many More Times is one of my Top 5 favorite LZ tunes. He should definitely check it out as well, but I think he’d get the most from just going through each record track by tack, honestly.
It’s so fun to see young people discovering Zeppelin. You totally get it!! Thanks for doing what you do!!
That riff where Bonham fills in the thunder is what used to be called Zeppelin's signature 'carpet bombing'
One of the very important things to keep in mind is that you're listening to the first, the beginning, the progenitors of 'heavy metal'. This is where it started, some claim the term itself was created to try to describe Led Zeppelin's style of heavy Blues rock. Here we are, 43 years later, and we're STILL listening to them and marveling.
Let me add...Zeppelin as a whole was creating music like this when nobody else was. Almost (not all,but many) every rock band in the 70's, 80's, and 90's were built on the backs of Zep.
True- yet I would add Helter Skelter had a similar feeling and that was a year before. Paul was doing metal.
I think Hendrix was definitely a catalyst for Led Zeppelin, as Page has waxed heavily on how mind blown he (and everyone in the UK scene) was blown away when the Experience started jamming there.
It seems Jimi was a heavy influence on the overall approach to song construction as well as the production that Page would certainly master and push well beyond the standards of the day.
It’s pretty evident in rock music offerings pre-Hendrix contrasted against post-Hendrix. In Page and Beck’s case just listen to the difference between Yardbirds and LZ, as well as Beck’s earliest post-Yardbirds (post-Hendrix) offerings with Rod Stewart and Faces.
Hendrix dipped into jazz with his amped up psychedelia, whereas Page tends to veer off into more Eastern influences as well as Caribbean, Cuban, and Jamaican stylings.
The still blows my mind every time I hear it, even after all these decades.
Robrt Plant is the god of heavy rock voices and the reason so many heavy rock singers sound the way they do. A sort of emulation.
I remember when I first heard this track. It was shocking. it was amazing. It was mind-blowing - it was Led Zeppelin. There's never been a sound like this.
It's one of the must see live performances of all time!

One of the early headbanging classics. At certain points, you can hear the Hammer of the Gods sound they'd achieve when Jimmy, Jonesy, and Bonzo all play the same riff at the same time. It's glorious. At some point, you ought to check out the live version from their concert film, "The Song Remains the Same". It's a springboard for Jimmy's solo guitar experimentation; it goes on for 26 minutes, full of innovation and strangeness. It was a mammoth experience watching/hearing that on a big screen!
Plants expression in just amazing

You know when you sit down, all excited to hear new music. Led Zeppelin was one of those bands you could truthfully say MIND BLOWN! I'm sixty years old, and I miss those days. So glad I was a part of history of helping them make history!!
Great job brother and an iconic song! I'm a drummer of 40 years and Bonham was a huge influence, about nobody being able to play it not true but being able to play it with the power, groove and dynamics.... he's untouchable to this day!
John Bonham died in 1980. There has NEVER been another one like him. You are correct, no one else could ever play this. Those triplets are real, I saw him do it 3 times. Drummers today, say it is an over dub. It's not. The original recording was made in a stairwell in one of Page's homes to get the acoustics.
I'm gonna be that guy and say the only person that could ever play this and it not be noticeably different is Peart.
@AntonioCSimoni Ha! Knew there'd be "that guy". Peart could do it rhythmically, but he didn't have Bonham's power. Plus the connection between he and Paige was otherworldly.
@@shelleynogle5422 yeah I love when they do the call and response with the guitar and drums. usually drummers follow the bass player but it Led Zeppelin followed the lead guitar. Brilliant absolutely brilliant.
That's right ,I lived in England early 70's ,knew musicians and the talk about different bands, concerts studios, etc....
