- Welcome back to my channel! In this video, I share the details of the garments I made with the fabric from my Think Pink box. This month, I made the Avola Cami by Cashmerette which was a pattern for Club members and the Winslow Culottes by Helen's Closet.

🤣 I really had such a hard time deciding what to make with this one because it’s very bright, very « in your face » and that’s not what I normally go for, but for summer, I figured « why not! » Hubby did ask me to « turn it down » when I showed him the full outfit. 🤣 xx 💞
Izzy, I absolutely love this fabric and what you’ve created! One of my favorites is purple, lilac or lavender too. If you have enough of that linen you could make a PE Songbird as a light coverup to go with the pants.😊

Those two pieces are amazing and will be great with other things, but I love them together! The fabric reminds me of Marimekko prints or Nani Iro - really special. It's not silly to not want to do a zipper - I've been avoiding them for decades, ha, ha! As always, the instant gratification of your makes with the fabric box is so much fun for the viewer - wish I could sew that fast 😆!
Thank you! I’m really trying to avoid zippers too 🤣 First of all, they just aren’t comfortable are they? And second, I don’t want to mess with them. Elastic is so much easier!

Izzy, your new summer outfit is the best use of April's fabric I've seen. Good job! Before you mentioned the Vernon in linen, I was thinking a Gilbert in a coordinating purple color would make a great topper/shirt. Regardless, you look fantastic and all set for summer in your new outfit!

Wow that ensemble is absolutely stunning! It’s so summery and perfect. When you first showed the fabric, I was glad I had seen the thumbnail picture of your outfit because I couldn’t picture anything 3D with it. Something about the scale of the print maybe? Idk but you clearly had a vision and it turned out beautifully!
Thank you so much Erin! To be perfectly honest, I didn’t have very high expectations for this outfit as I was making it. 🤣 But when I tried it on, I just loved it so much! The fabric is definitely not something I would have chosen, but it worked out!!
I think you look good in those colours. I have the same coloured fabric. The orange is almost on the verge of being florescent and all florescents are best on winter colouring. My son is a blond winter and looks amazing in florescents and black. They are his best colours. The purple is a cool, clear purple, so it's good for you too. That's really a cute outfit. I have a dress pattern I want to make from mine, but now you are making me think. Lol. I'm definitely an autumn colouring, but I'm going to pretend that it's my perfect orange anyway, even though it isn't my purple. It's my favourite purple though. So I love it anyway.

Inspired choice Izzie and look forward to seeing your mini capsule wardrobe around it! Perfect summer outfit. I have the green and pink colourway and still procrastinating over what to make - keep switching between a dress (the new Fibremood with back ties) or a Co- ord set. I get the large box so have 4 metres to play with!! Just made up my Nerida Hansen floral fabric( box 26) into a hacked version of the Named Clothing Reeta dress which I love. Can’t wait to see the new box. 😊. Happy Sewing. Lynne

That is so cute on you! You look great on the Avola top. I do not like the look of my arms so I always make sure that I have sleeves. I still need to figure out what I am doing to do with my fabric. I got the same as your but I think I would have liked the pink one better or the turquoise. But I need to learn to be happy with what I got. I am still trying to make up my mind about the box. I need to work harder to make up the fabric, but that will come as I work the fit issues out of more patterns and get more TNT patterns. Have a great week!

I’m subscribed to Beyond the Pink Door and I received the green/pink colorway which is not in my prescribed color season of cool summer but hey, it’s ok! I do like yours on you. I’m thinking of making a Stina skirt from Atelier Joup out of mine. I’m amazed you were able to get both of your garments out of the 2.5 meters!

Wow Adorable ! and great fit 😃 I never worry about a back seam in a waistband, all men's pants have it for alterations.

Your outfit looks amazing Izzy. I have the same colourway and am still dithering about what to make. It’s almost winter here in Australia so I might put it on hold till Spring.. Have you finished your Sloper school? I need to get back to it before it’s too late.
Thank you! Yeah I can see how this might be more appropriate for summer. I’m not finished with my sloper but I have watched all the videos now. I want to schedule a day with my daughter where she can help me with the fit on the back by pinning folds, etc. I really want to try making all the remaining changes in one go if I can. But I feel like I’m really close because I don’t really need the skirt to fit me perfectly (I rarely/never make fitted dresses/skirts). I just want to get the bodice almost perfect.
The postcard is by a famous “annonymous” British street artist known as Banksy”. He displays his art on publically visible surfaces such as buildings and walls. His art often has a political message.
