All your June makes fabulous Izzy, hard to choose a favourite, I love your Love Notions top but think most impressive make was your bag, it looks absolutely fantastic. Like other viewers, I love your enthusiasm and I love Marianne's comments sneaked in during editing. Keep up your brilliant vlogs, I always smile when I see a new one. ❤
Thank you so much - you're very sweet!
Woot! Way to go, Izzy! I love your sewing productivity and enthusiasm! 🥳 Fab June projects! 🤩 Marianne’s comments crack me up! 🤣 Looking forward to your July makes! 💗
Thank you Andra!! I love that Marianne adds little comments to the videos 🤣💞
I had an incredibly unproductive June, but I am ok with it 😂. I had lots of family time. I love when Marianne adds text commentary to the videos. You have enough swim fabric to make suits for everyone! The fabric is so pretty. Fingers crossed that pattern bundle is released soon.
Family time is amazing!! Marianne makes me laugh when she adds those little messages. The swim pattern was released today and I immediately purchased it. I’m kinda nervous about sewing it up now and I’m really happy I have extra fabric just in case it all goes horribly wrong! 😂 xx 💞
This is a great pattern. My only attempt at swimwear was in the 1970s and was aborted before the bottoms were finished. I probably won't use it this season but really want to learn to work with these fabrics. Thanks for this video! -Kelly
Oops. Autoplay is switched on, and this was a comment on the LN Clearwater pattern pack that Tomkat Stitchery posted her video on this morning! Have fun.
LOL How funny that your comment was just as appropriate on my video! I watched Whitney’s video this morning and her versions are gorgeous.
It’s hard to pick a favorite of your June makes, so I’ll say it’s a tie between the chorus top and the robe. Both look so stunning on you, and the robe is such a good, staple item that it gets bonus points for being an essential lol.
I’m looking forward to your July makes!
Thank you! The robe is probably in my top 5 makes so far this year. It’s the perfect weight for a summer robe and provides just the right amount of coverage. I just love it.
you were really busy! love all of your makes and plans but the patterned shorts in your plans seem both comfy and fun. excited to see the finished makes.
Thank you Sara! I so desperately need shorts right now - all I have are RTW ugly knit shorts that are just pitiful! 😂
Loving all your holiday wardrobe plans! So colourful and cheerful and great that they will go with existing items. Happy Sewing 😊. Lynne
Thank you Lynne! I’m really excited about all the shorts I’m going to make. I’m tired of the terrible RTW ones I’ve been wearing.
I ❤ the top you made for Marianne. The Gilbert top is super cute too. The swimsuit fabric is gorgeous. I made a swimsuit from Blackbird fabric a couple summers ago and it is amazing fabric to work with and wear. Too bad your red shorts weren't ready for Canada Day. They would be on point with a white top. I am hoping to get to a project that's been in my plans for quite a while now. I have lace trim and natural lightweight linen for an Armistice Blouse by Folkwear Patterns. I think it might be a slow project since I want to add some fancy lace details. Happy sewing!
I hadn’t thought of that, but you’re so right - red shorts with a white tee would have been an awesome outfit for Canada Day! I’m really nervous about sewing up the swimsuit. I’m so glad you had no issues with the Blackbird Fabrics swimwear stuff. I really hope I can get a good fit right off the bat because I have no other fabric to test this with. 🤞 A blouse with lace details sounds amazing!!
Your garments and the bag are great looking! My favorite is the Gilbert shirt - looks so nice on you and yes, the color is perfect!
Thank you so much! I do like that Gilbert top!
So many makes!!! Love the yellow top most!
Thank you Katinka! 💞
Fabulous makes!
That shell fabric is absolutely gorgeous!! Cannot wait to see those togs made up
Thanks so much 😊
You have very exciting plans for July! I love making shorts and can't wait to see all your pairs 👏🏼 You have planned the colours so well and have some gorgeous fabrics.
June was a great month for you, the Chorus top is such a great style on you 💚.
Good luck with the bathing suit, when I made one years ago it looked horrific 😂. I used the wrong elastic on the legs and it looked like a nappy. Yours will be awesome of course ❤ xx
Thank you! I do like the Chorus top and hope to make a few more soon. I’m really nervous about sewing up the swimsuit. I think it’s the thought of making something super fitted. I can imagine it would look ridiculous if I don’t get the fit right. And I’m hoping to take it with me to Greece so it has to fit!! I might need to have a back-up plan 🤔 xx 💞
All those different greens and blues in your makes and plans look terrific on you. I've never made swimwear (and never will) but the new LN pattern has so many options - have fun with it. I look forward to hearing all about your experience.
Thank you Fiona! I really hope the swimwear works out - either way, i’ll share how it goes!
Can't wait to see your makes. Good fabric choices.
Thank you! 😊
My favorite for June has to be the Lygon robe! I’m loving that swimwear fabric you have, perfect for the new Love Notions pattern. I’ve not considered making swimwear yet but I do like this pattern. I need to research adding actual cups for support. I’ve been on hiatus from sewing following eye surgery, can’t wait to get back to it! Living vicariously through you at the moment 😉 Oh! Greece! What fun! I think you need to make a PE Songbird for your trip😊
Thank you Donna - I do love my Lygon!! I thought about adding cups, but instead, I’m going to try using power mesh as a lining and see if that works out. How are you doing post-surgery? Are you feeling ok? Also, I’m trying to find the « perfect » fabric for the Songbird. I’m thinking a semi-sheer, flowy fabric or maybe a crochet type fabric. What do you think? I want it to be neutral so I can wear it with printed tops.
@@dizzyquiltsandsews oh! A semi sheer flowy fabric would be perfect! I wear mine often and would love to make a woven one. After my cataract surgery I had a detached retina. Not fun, but no loss of vision thankfully. I had a great retina specialist! Sent my machines in for a good cleaning. Hope I can see better close up soon🤞
Thanks for the vlog Issy, you know I love them :) So lovely to see all your June makes in one video, and excited to see your July makes :) I've made a few pairs of shorts from the luna pattern, so I'm interested in how you get on with that. You are so organised, it's impressive. I have an ongoing list, but often veer off and make stuff that's not on the list :) My friend is coming round this afternoon and we are going to spend some time sewing together. She wants to make something for herself for the first time, so I think I'm going to start her off with the Ruby Top from madebyrae. Thanks again x
Hi Sue! Thank you so much. I cut the fabric for my Luna shorts last night and hoping to sew them up tonight. Will report back! You’re so lucky to have sewing friends nearby. Hope you had a good time!
That bag you made is pretty awesome!
Thank you! 😊
I made the Tinley shorts last weekend. I did the flowy leg style. I used material that looked like a satin but not shiny. It looks like I’m going to be a figure skater. 😂 if I make them again I would pick a much more flowy material. If you like a skirt look you would like it. I just didn’t want that look. I only had to do a tiny adjustment on the rise. Good luck on your pair.
I was thinking of making the « full » shorts so I guess they would end up looking like a shirt or culottes. I think that would be best for the rayon I’m planning to use. I’m glad to see you didn’t have to make a lot of adjustments.
There must have been something in the air during June! 😆😆 Thanks for sharing all the fabulous things coming out of your sewing room last month. I have made the Gilbert top a couple of times, and it's odd when you're at the ironing board pressing a Gilbert top and somebody says "Gilbert Top" ! hahaha I got 7 things + 1 refashion done in June myself, which wasn't normal 😉 On my plans for July is to make some Opal pants, which are similar to the Luna pants, I think. I would also like to find some fabric here to make the shorts version, too. Have a great week sewing and vacation wardrobe planning 😘
Working on something while watching a video of someone mentioning that thing happens to me all the time! 🤣 Wow - you had a really productive month too. That’s amazing! Yes, the Opal are very similar to the Luna pants. Which view are you making? I really like the wide leg view. Xx
@@dizzyquiltsandsews I'm a little embarrassed to say that the pants on my table are actually the Dani Pants / True Bias. Still elastic waist, the view with fly and snaps. I did try out the Opal Shorts version at the end of last summer, though. Love the shorts, and need to get that one back out for a pants version. Soon. 😘
Beautiful makes and fabolous plans. :)
Thank you Agata! 😊
I recently made 2 pairs of the Tinley shorts and I love them!
Oh yay! Which view did you make? The full one or the regular one?
@@dizzyquiltsandsews I did the straight shorts for both. I also made the Sinclair sleeveless Bloom top in 2 different lengths with the left over fabric…such nice summer outfits
ll your makes are amazing you inspire me
Thank you so much!
Tomcat stichery has that for her feature Friday with major discount for the bathing suit love notions That you just talked about good luck
Yes, I saw Whitney’s video this morning! Thank you!
I just got the Summer Essentials pattern and am looking forward to making a swim suit!!
Yay! I saw today that Kim from Dorothy’s Daughter made the tankini and shorts and they look amazing on her. She said she’s got a video in the works to go over all the adjustments she made so I think I’m going to wait for that video before cutting into my fabric. Do you have your fabric all picked out already?
@@dizzyquiltsandsews I just ordered some. I still need the elastic. I watched Karina (Lifting Pins and Needles), she has a good video too. I will watch Kim's video too. Good luck!!!
Yes - just watched Karina’s video this morning! Good luck to you as well! We can do this!!
Where do you buy your power mesh? I looked in Fabricland, and it was $47/metre! That was the only place I could find it. At Len's Mills, they didn't even know what it was when I asked them where it was.
I’m pretty sure I bought the power mesh from Blackbird Fabrics when I originally purchased the swim fabric. They also had swim elastic and the swim lining. Good luck finding some!!
@@dizzyquiltsandsews thank you. I'll check them out.
