    It’s so helpful to see how you assess fit and compare patterns. I learn so much! Thanks for sharing.

      So glad to hear that it was helpful! I felt like I couldn't be the only one curious about this.

    Thanks for this, so helpful!
    I always have to make the shoulders smaller on Cashmerette so seeing the shoulder fit on you was another reminder of why we sew - fit!

      That's so interesting! Of course, no pattern is going to fit everyone right out of the packet. You are absolutely right though, this is why we sew!

    I am so pleased I discovered your channel, you seem to make the videos I want to see! I have been looking at these patterns since you mentioned the Concord. We have very similar measurements, except I don’t have curved hips and I do have narrow sloped shoulders. I was leaning towards buying the Grafton in any case, I loved all the options it offered and for me I feel it would be a ‘forever pattern’ and I will get my money’s worth out of it. This has confirmed my leaning towards the Grafton and I can’t wait to get buying and making…thank you 😊

      That's so nice to hear! I do think the Grafton has so much within it and a lot of potential. If you don't have either and are looking for more variety, you can't really go wrong with the Grafton!

    Thank you, you have answered the question that popped into my mind when you made the last video.
    I need about 4 new t-shirts. I’ve even been wearing a wearable mock up that I didnt finish properly, such is my dearth!!

    • @LostMyThread
      @LostMyThread  6 місяців тому

      Well, if you have a fuller bust, I don't think you can really go wrong with Cashmerette. There are a quick thing to whip up as well, so I hope you can fill that gap with one of these!

    I’ve made quite a few Concord tees (and a dress hack) and like the fit. Typically I need only a length adjustment. From the line drawings, it looked like the top of the Grafton was similar, so it was interesting to see a side-by-side comparison. I’m sure you could combine the Concord top with the skirt patterns of the Grafton for dress options too. Thanks for sharing!

    • @LostMyThread
      @LostMyThread  6 місяців тому

      For that type of adjustment, yes, I think it will be the same across both patterns. And I agree, I was already thinking about how I could use the Concord scoop neck on future Graftons. 😉

    I think if you added a bit of width at the bust side seams it would help remove some of the drag lines in the back of each tee. It appears to me that the front of each tee is borrowing some space from the back to fit your bust. Great video! Thanks for the comparison!

      I think you're right, but I certainly didn't want to get into too much finicky fitting detail. I have found that these tops fit me differently with different fabrics as well, so it's always going to come down to the stretch of each jersey. Maybe something to consider for my next versions. Thanks for watching!

    Great comparison of these patterns! I have made both these pattens and love them. I’m glad I have both patterns because of the distinct variations of each one. It’s always great to have options!

      Same here! I have made my own hacks of the concord, but it's nice to have Cashmerette's take on these things!

    Thank you - this was very helpful. I have so far made seven Grafton tops, with a preference for the square neckline which is something different and very flattering on me. I have now bought the Concord pattern and look forward to making my own comparisons, and I will also try a version with gathered sleeves as in the Carlyle pattern (Cashmerette Club pattern).
    If the Concord fits better than the Grafton, I will probably try to transplant the square neckline to the Concord.

      You could definitely do a mix and match once you find out which you prefer. I imagine it will depend on everyone's own unique body. Both are great patterns though, so I'm happy to have both!

    Thank you for the video: super interesting. I love the U scoop of the Grafton because if you wear a vest under it, you can add another colour and the beautiful scoop effect, without showing cleavage

      I've been wearing both, for sure. I think the differences are less noticeable when they're not directly side by side. Glad to hear that you enjoyed it!

    Great detail. They both look nice on you. I think the dress options included with the Grafton give you some dressy options while the concord looks slightly sporty. I love the relaxed option you are wearing!

      That's a really interesting way of looking at it. I think you're on to something common. Nancy! I do also really like the relaxed version of the Grafton. That one does have a whole lot of options!

    Excellent and thorough comparison, Theresa. I'm not in the market for either of these patterns, but it was fascinating to watch, and I'm sure so many people will find this useful.
    I agree that I prefer the cinnamon Concord on you, but I love the green of the Grafton - such a pretty shade, and they'll both be really wearable. I can see that not adjusting the shoulders might have been a bit annoying for you, but it was actually quite useful to see them compared out of the envelope without any adjustments.

    • @LostMyThread
      @LostMyThread  6 місяців тому +1

      Thanks, Chloe! There are pros and cons of doing those adjustments. If I was going to be really thorough, I could have made another version after the shoulder adjustment. But boy, that's a lot of fabric, and sewing, and t-shirts! 😂

  • @debbiecook4270

    I just love your comparisons in your videos and this one is awesome too. I agree with you that the Concord is just a bit better for your body but both are winners, esp. once you adjust the shoulders! I also like that you don't get bogged down by over-analyzing so you can enjoy both of these new tees. While I'm a sucker for all greens, that "cinnamon" color is just beautiful!

    • @LostMyThread
      @LostMyThread  6 місяців тому

      Thanks, Debbie! I will adjust the shoulders for future versions, but that is definitely a minor detail. I also know that I've had a very different experience using different types of jerseys, so I think we always need to be kind to ourselves and avoid being fit perfectionists.

    Okay wow, this is so helpful. I'm looking for that holy grail of t-shirt patterns that I can settle into using and has numerous options. I started with a Wardrobe By Me, but had to do a full bust adjustment on it and am not 100% happy yet. Now my dilemma is if I should go ahead and spring for ANOTHER pattern. But I really love the options on the Grafton.

    • @LostMyThread
      @LostMyThread  6 місяців тому

      I absolutely understand where you're coming from. I've been through a lot of t-shirts before I came across and fell in love with the Concord. The Grafton is also fantastic, and if you like the options, it is one to consider. Maybe when you're in the mood to try tackling another t-shirt... Good luck finding your perfect tee!

    Great video, as always. I totally appreciate how you geek out on the details of comparing two basic tee patterns. I love the Concord for myself, and I think it looks great on you. Since I don't wear dresses all that often, I think I'll skip the Grafton. Thank you for the comparison.

    • @LostMyThread
      @LostMyThread  6 місяців тому

      It's nice to hear the other people enjoy getting into the details! The Grafton definitely is great for the options. If you don't need a turtleneck, tank top, bishop sleeve, etc., or can draft your own onto the Concord, you're all good with that one, though.

    Thanks so much for this video. I actually learned a lot because our measurements are almost exactly the same! Body dysmporphia is so real. I’d want both patterns ultimately. The concord looks like the best fitting t shirt but the grafons square neck and turtle neck options would make it worth getting both. I currently own neither, though I do have the raglan tee that comes in Ahead of tha Curve.
    Also the two patterns used the same fabric type right? The grafton looked so much more thick/stiff on you than the concord which looked light and soft.

    • @LostMyThread
      @LostMyThread  6 місяців тому

      Yes, definitely very much the same cotton jersey. Maybe the colors are making them look different, but they feel the same.
      So glad that this was helpful! I'll bet the raglan tee is great, too. I haven't bought that book because my high bust is too small for those patterns. I'm jealous of those who can make them!

    What's causing the pulling at the side seam? I also think the concord sleeve, neckline and hem is nicer on you. I would like to see how both look with the shoulder adjustment.

    • @LostMyThread
      @LostMyThread  4 місяці тому

      Agreed. I wish I'd realized the need for the adjustment before making these. I have made other versions of both, with the adjustment. You can see those on my Instagram @lostmythread.

    Wow, the Grafton looks like an entire wardrobe. It looks great, but pretty expensive for someone who has a bunch of patterns I can piece together.

    • @LostMyThread
