The Tinley shorts looks lovely on you
Wonderful video! Thanks, Izzy. I just love how the Winslow/Gilbert set looks on you. I had a floaty split skirt once that had a low crotch. It seemed less of a "skort" in the way it draped. I have only the Tinley pattern but have not made it yet. -Kelly

Thanks for that great review. I’m finishing my Tinley skort today. I didn’t have the 3/8 inch elastic so I instead used 20:44 2” elastic. That’s where I’m at right now. I have the bike shorts together and will put the two pieces together today. Very nice pattern. I also printed the “hello” shorts by Sinclair. That will be my next make.

The Tinsley is the clear winner and so versatile and look so comfortable and stylish. The others look great also and you taught us so much with this comparison. Hope you enjoy wearing them for the rest of the summer and to Greece for sure 😊

Great comparison video Izzy! This type of video is so helpful. I’ve made the Belize flat front shorts and love them. The Tinley is on my list when I can sew again along with a Sinclair shorts pattern. Your Tinley’s are so cute!

Thank you for the comparison video. I don’t have the Belize shorts, but I do have the Brampton shorts and like them. I also have the Tinley. I haven’t made the full shorts but plan to now! It is wonderful when a pattern fits without much adjustment. That was the I2S for me. Thanks!❤
It really is wonderful! I was really surprise when the Tinley fit so well. I haven't had much luck with Love Notions bottoms until now.

Thanks for another great video. The comparison is great and very timely. I just made the Belize pattern today and I made a 12 based on my measurements and they were huge on me but comfortable. I own the Tinley pattern so I think I will try those next based on your review. Thanks 😊.

Hi Izzie, I have made 3 pairs of the Tinley shorts (straight version) and love them. They were so easy to fit and I only had to lower the front rise a little. The back rise was perfect. I love the pockets and this will be my TNT shorts pattern for future. Happy sewing. 🌸
Oh now I really, really want to make the straight version of the Tinleys. Marianne was editing this video and sent me a text asking me to make her a pair of Tinley shorts. When your 26 year-old asks for something you are wearing, you know it's a winner LOL

Hey Izzie, I like all four makes but my favourite ones were the Belize and Tinsley. I knew you would choose the Tinsley as your favourite. Just finished watching Whitney and she sewed for herself a pair of Tinsley 's. She also mentioned the Belize I like that style the most . Maybe I ll give them a try. Hmmmmmmm. Till next time.

Great vlog and great makes! I’m more of a stretch stitcher (I sew for comfort). My fav patterns are Staystitch’s Solenes and Made 4 Mermaids Cora Culottes but I’m very tempted by the Tinleys having watched this.

I’ve recently made 2 pair of the straight Tinley and a pair of Hello shorts from Sinclair patterns. I did not have to make any adjustments and I love them..they fit great
So many people are recommending the Hello Shorts I think I’m going to have to add those to my list. And I already have the pattern!! Thank you!

I always sew a very narrow stay tape along the crotch seam to prevent the crotch from growing as you wear the pants & shorts

What a lovely video, and a great pattern review. I must admit I’ve rather fallen for the Tinleys, so many variations AND Pockets ! 😃 What’s not to love ? Your version is gorgeous and looks fab on you. Your enthusiasm is contagious and I have to admit that I have just purchased the pattern and sent it off to my favourite pdf printers !! I I shall be able to get started on Tuesday 😂 They are going to making some smashing skorts for golf. Whatever you’re up to, have a lovely, lovely week. Great video on the different styles you have made, re the elastic I for many years I have put two channels in my waist bands using 12 or 13 mm elastic, saves twisting and if by any chance I shrink a bit 😂 I don't have to unpick rows of stitches that many people do on their wide elastic waistband. Yes the tinley short/ skirt looks great. No I haven't made shorts for years, I no longer wear them those days have long gone with me 😢😅 regards Diana from NZ 🎉❤🎉
Multiple channels and elastic is such a great way to do a waistband. There isn't much I dislike more than twisting elastic! I'm not a huge fan of shorts either (I really don't like showing my legs), but when it's 35 Celcius out, you need shorts! LOL
Thankyou for the reply, when living in the islands, with high temperatures and humidity I actually found loose dresses cooler to wear, only 3 garments on and nothing tight around the waist, and no synthetics, funny when I think of Canada I don't have those high temperatures in mind, enjoy them, the English sewists are not having a great summer by what they are all saying in their vlogs. We're in winter here, regards Diana from NZ 🌧️
Great video Izzy. I made shorts with a Muna and Broad trouser pattern last year but have since altered the rise on them and shortened them. I'm still not keen on the fabric but the fit is improved. Could you put little slits in the side of your Luna shorts to make the fit more comfortable? Love your Tinleys, look forward to seeing your next pair x
Thank you! I'm going to insert fabric wedges in the sides of the Luna to make them more comfortable. I have plenty of that red fabric left but also could use a fun print for a bit of interest!
if your Luna shorts are for the cottage, could you open the sides and make a slit for comfort? They wouldn't have to be perfect :) I was surprised to hear about the Winslow's being so o in crotch depth; they look great, but we have to feel comfortable as well. However I agree, the Tinley look fabulous! The style paired with that fabric is lovely!
Hi Nancy! I'm definitely going to open up the side seams on the Luna but I think I'm going to insert a little wedge in a contrasting fabric just for fun!
@@dizzyquiltsandsews Cool! I had thought of that but didn;'t want to suggest a whole bunch of extra work! I will keep reworking something until I can wear it, but I am not sure how many people find that a fun type of challenge 😄

I just made a pair of Tinley shorts (straight shorts version), love them but the front waist band hits me too high. I'm going to take out an 1inch in the front next time. What cami did you make to go along with your Winslow Culottes? I love the Belize but I make mine a little longer.
I definitely will make a pair of the Tinley straight shorts. I'm wearing an Avola Cami by Cashmerette (club pattern) with the Winslows.
