I like your channel and I think these bikes are great but since I can't get an Indian chief Dark Horse because there's no one in Memphis to work on it and I can't get a lot of bikes I'd like to have because there's no one here to work on it why don't you just use a 3D printer with titanium filament or carbon fiber nylon filament wouldn't that just be cheaper to make the gas tank yourself with an FTL
Hey thanks for the shout out! So happy to hear you all were able to get the tank. You never when some of these things can go on backorder or get discontinued. So glad I was able to help!
That second tank still around? Probably going to be out of my price range if so, but I've been looking for this same one for ages.
Is it still around. Thinking about buying this bike and the tank is fucked. 😢
THIS IS GLORIOUS! Very well done. I'm impressed.
Looks basicly brand new (with the exeption of the rusty lower triple tree) and honestly better than any current production naked bike made by honda.
I so agree!
cb650r
I've only ever rode 1 Hornet 900, I enjoyed it. Wish I could have rode it more, but it was a customers bike, and literally only had 1900 miles on it from new. There wasn't a single scratch on it, but, it also had its original tyres, which the owner didn't want to change. The engines are great, I'm not a honda guy, more kawasaki and suzuki, but honda do make a great engine
OG tires imo are always silly to keep on after break-in
@@MrPruske especially so when they're 20 years old! Haha dude wanted to keep it all original though so we couldn't fit new tyres
@@jordanjoestar8839 I've thrown a lot at a Yamaha and 2 Honda liter bikes. The Honda's (fingers crossed) have never given me an issue. I had the valves shimmed on one I bought of a guy who was stunting it. With 25,000 miles on it, the mechanic said they were all still within spec. After years of being ragged on. Needless to say years later I bought the exact year and model bike again.
@@jordanjoestar8839 yamaha engines are bullet-proof. They are a type of engines you can slam on a rock and still run. But the problem with yamaha is that they don't do much of those sweet 4cyl engines. You can't have fun on a R1 without breaking the law. R6, almost non-existent out here. R1 isn't much different either. So the only thing you'll get the in-line 4 feeling from yamaha is that MT-09. Even though it's not. Other than that i've never had any problems with yamaha engines.
OMG that toned whistle of the exhaust😩... anyone who rode a Hornet can recognize it from a bunch.
It sounds tight
Hey men, I really like what you are doing there and the hole concept of your channel, but the exhaust sits kinda weird due to it looks like it hangs the end can in a way thats not even parallel to the tail, I would personally mount it with the end a lot higher. I think it will look much better. Really I am saying it with very good intentions because you have made so much work on thiw bike and it turned out so beautiful besides the angle of the exhaust
hmm yeah I thought the same thing
I agree !
+1 stood out alot sorry. Awesome bike otherwise...
80/20 rule
I have a 2002 hornet 919, in pristine condition barring a couple chips in the paint(very very tiny, almost unnoticeable). It’s my favorite bike ever and it literally gives me that good feeling in my soul every time I see look at it. Love all the videos you guys make on this bike and it’s been so satisfying to watch this bike come back to the condition it deserves. Keep up the good work!
I love it. Thanks, guys. I still ride my 919 (it's an 07) on a "semi-daily" basis. (It has about 50 k miles on it), and seeing all the love and appreciation for a great, old-school bike made me so happy.
I just brought a 919 2007. Delivery is on Friday next week. Cant wait.!!!! any tips towards the maintenance? Oil, Gas etc?
@@amuj10k258 oh I also used Shell Rotella diesel oil for a long while. I just use Pro Honda oil. I only change it once a year since it’s in storage for 6 months each winter. Beyond that, the bike is really low maintenance. It DOES kinda smell (I did a bafflectomy to mine) so be aware of that.
@@lorinharris1564 thanks man. Appreciate your response.
Solid work Grannie Nudes, love the vid!
919 has always been my dream bike. I finally bought one last year and ended up going the same route as this.... new tank and cowl from Japan. Now it's minty. These bikes are going to be classics for sure.
SWEET refresh my dudes!!! You guys are always awesome. Yammie team is always awesome
Idk whether to share this or not but I'm super happy to know and i wanna tell someone so I'm gonna tell yall:- in India we just got a massssssssive price cut on the cbr 1000rr r. It was 33 lakh INR (around 44k dollars) and Honda just slashed 10 lakh INR (13164 dollars) off on it. So the price is kinda similar to that of in USA.
Great job, that looks beautiful in the deep red. I had the 599 in flat black with carbon fiber details and it was such a great bike.
Awesome video 👍🏼. I picked up a stock silver 04 a year ago, in like new/showroom condition with 4000 original miles. I absolutely love the 919 !
Again, awesome video 👍🏼😎
Couldn't have been more timely. I just got my 599 back from the shop today!
Beautiful bike and nice, clean, solid work. Mine is a bone stock 2007 with 16K miles in same color. Glad they have come to be appreciated more as they were overlooked for a long time. I have 3 bikes at the moment and the 919 is the keeper.
About 8 years ago I wanted a hornet 919. And I keep watching your videos. And finally just yesterday is bought one. And it’s everything I hoped it would be!
Excellent job you two!!! That brought a tier to my eye-no lie!
It's crazy guys 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 congratulations and thank you very much 🧡🧡🧡👍👍👍🤙🤙🤙
Really enjoyed this video. nice work
This makes me miss my 599 hornet in a big way! Those hornets were fantastic bikes for the era
The hornet was the bike that moved me away from Harleys and forced me to the dark side. It allowed me to ride as the technique books were talking about.
Such a beautiful looking bike. You’re right about the paint job. I haven’t washed mine in over a year and the red still has the glitter when sunlight hits it. Mine has only 4000 miles and I posted it for sale a couple times for cheap but nobody has interest in these bikes or even know what it is. Decided to just keep it since it’s rare and maybe one day it’ll be a collectible.
that is my dream bike! I grow up seems this bike around on my teen years and I always love it, 10 years later still some of the best look bike for me! great job!
The best part of this video other than the sound of that exhaust at the end is "KEEP WATCHING YAMMIE NOOB!!!!"
I still have a Red 2007 919 that I bought new. Glad to see someone showing the 919 some love!
I’ve got my 2006 Honda hornet black with the upside down forks, it’s my first ride, and it’s just a good school for learn and a style that never gets old, even 1000cc folks still love the hornet 🐝❤️
How cool, i also bought a SC48 last week and will start to convert it :D
Gastank is ... well mine needs some love too. Replacing it seems a crazy idea here in germany.
Love how shiny the piping is, there will be some work to get mine even close tot that.
This is that wholesome content I needed
I was once on the hunt for an '83 Yamaha Virago 920 gas tank many years after the poor selling model I owned was made. I thought I was out of luck. There were so few part sources for the Virago. The tank I found was shipped from a California address to Tennessee, but thinking back on it I am not certain the tank was in the continental US when it began it's journey to my garage. I was so excited to receive pristine tank.
Just replaced the fuel pump assembly in my 2002 Honda 919. I've had the 919 since new. Replaced the front sprocket early on. Added one tooth. Made the chain fit. Painted the flat black, Honda green. Bought a green front fender. You should have painted your front fender red.
This looks amazing.Amazing jib yammie
2002 919 was my first bike back in 2004. Just got back into riding after 4 yrs since selling my Concours14. Bought a commuter NC700X. Glad my good friend still has and rides the ol 9nr.
Seriously all of that was done in one day? You are both getting really good at this. Good job👍
Last Sunday I got my hands on a red 2007 919 and already have a grey 2003 model. This fall I'll actually be hauling the grey one through your part of the country to take it to a suburb of McAllen and leave it at my parents winter place.
Nice bike, but I would have to do some more exhaust work to get the end of that exhaust up higher, where the angle matches that of the subframe.
I had just randomly come across your dorky motorcycle video
and while watching i noticed the bike you were riding was the
Hornet i thought to myself wow i thought i was the only one
who owned the 919 hornet . watched the follow up video and there it
was the deep and i mean very deep red gas tank , the red paint Honda
put on these motorcycles is crazy . mine is a 9.5 out of 10 clean and would not
part with it . I am for sure a subscriber to this channel . I am no street racer by no means
but i do like a little pep , so power commander and VP 110 gave me more
power than I well ever need
Awesome build vid, well done!
Good job fellas. The Hornet is beautiful! Yammie, you need to give that bike to Spite. That man is in love with it!
for real, man! i think Spite needs that bike even more than his KTM supermoto
Beautiful, even though I'm pretty young I have such an appreciation for bikes like this, perhaps because stuff like this what I grew up watching my dad ride.
The only thing missing is the ride video, definitely a must watch, gosh it look gorgeous :))
Looks amazing. Mine is the same year/model and has the "chrome" gauge cover and red fender. A bit surprised about the OEM headlight vs LED. Most people hate the 919 headlight because of how weak it is.
Best bike on channel!!! Love it.
I had a gorgeous 07 Hornet in the same red, and it was super clean, and by far, my favorite bike I've ever owned. Unfortunately I had to sell it to buy a bigger family car to accommodate my two boys. Hoping to one day find another one. Love it!
I would love this bike! Great job guys. 👍🏼
Great job guys whatta ride!!
The CB900F is super overlooked in Honda’s catalog, but they are awesome, classic machines
That's a good looking bike, Guys. You can feel the love. Enjoy
Bravo! It turned out beautiful!
now i want one of these bikes. never heard of them til now. looks sick. i think my next bike has to be a naked bike of some kind
the exhaust looks super clean!! I will be buying something similar for my cb300r someday :)
“Tanks are so hard to come by…”
Sounds like my Yamaha Road Star Warrior…
This pup needs a gold colored handlebar for a final touch. Boys, you did amazing work on the Hentai. Bravo.
so clean ✨
Awesome dude!!
You should have the tail light clear coated so it dont haze back up. I do that with car head lights all the time. the sun burns the protective layer off and the clear replaces that
Looks amazing I just wish the pipe was pitched up a bit to match the natural line of the subframe/tail section. Otherwise perfect look
Woah! Looks amazing. Looks so modern now
Great job lads!
I love my 919, just got back from the first ride of the year today. What licence plate bracket did you guys use? I'm looking for a sturdy one so I can get rid of the bulky OEM one.
I recently bought one of those universal ones off Amazon and made it work on my 919. Just make sure you use loctite on all the bolts.
Buddy of mine bought a hornet last year, great bike and a wonderful engine. Great sound as well.
Heck yeah the first giveaway bike 🚲 , can not wait to see her on the track !!! 🙏
Awesome motorcycle, awesome work!!!
I'm waiting for my honda hornet 600cc next week can't wait to ride it.
Got 2 spare new tanks (with fuel pumps) in my attic - brand new.... as well as spare tanks for the cb600f-6..
Hey yammie, big fan. I would really like it if you could make a review on the Honda shadow phantom. Planning on buying it. Wanted to know your opinion. Thank you.
I own a Hornet 919 I bought for $1500, in good condition with tasteful mods, bike sounds good af and pulls good, she loves wheeliee
The 919 Hornet might be the most beautiful bike ever made. Even though I will likely never see it in person, thanks for saving this one.
Great work boys 💪😎🤳
having this same issue right now for my 2006 GSXR 1000 hard to find a clean tank but got a clean one just gotta reshape gas hole and she is mint original colors 🙏
Holy cow it looks siiiiiiiiiiiiick!
Damn that's pretty - good job!
love you yams ❤️
That paint color is incredible!
That bike reminds me so much of my cb650r. Ugh I miss it so much. Same shade of red too.
You should have got the front fender too looks way better. Good show.
looks amazing - what's the colour code? looks remarkably like the colour of my CB500F which I absolutely adore
Love the bike. Can't wait for the first ride. I had a Kawasaki Concours14 in that color. It glistens in the right light. Would you just look at it.
@Yammienoob The Hornet looks great! What length/model Delkevic exhaust is that? I want to replace the. Delkevic stubby I have on my 03 636 but don't want some thing huge like the stock can. The can you went with looks like a nice compromise between the 2 and it still sounds good.
doing similar mods to mine, i like your low mount exhaust.
worth waiting❤️❤️
Hornet looks 👌, Good job fellas!
id love a RokForm case/mount but they only make them for "flagship phones" i have a lower end model Samsung 😥
Regarding OEM parts... im freshening up my Suzuki and being able to literally almost completely rebuild this bike with factory suzuki parts is so satisfying. i love seeing "Genuine Parts" on product labels. the same can be said for my Mazda Miata. OEM parts are just soooo nice.
looks great sounds better!
When I read the title of today's video, the only thing I could think of was that scene in Tenacious D when they go to fight the devil, and the devil goes
I AM COMPLETE
I've got an 03 919. I can relate to the exhaust smell. I have to put my work uniform in a garbage bag, and then in my tail bag to eliminate any orders. I see the can is from Delkevic, what is the head pipe? What is the part #? Thanks in advance! Love the bike fellas!
i currently own. i love this bike so much. it is a freaking work horse. 50K and still goin!!!
also mine came with dual pipes under the rear seat
i have seen some were they did away with the dual
and ran a single like what you have done here, will this change
any performance of the engine ?
Love my hornet! Only has like 12,000 miles on it. Only had 10k when I got it. That paint is in fact beautiful.
At 12:13 you can see Spite spitting in the eye of all power tool gods Daring them to smite him down. Thankfully it looks like they didn't take him up on it today.
That honda red is my favorite color on any bike.. my VFR is in that same color
2 questions: why did you let the lower tripleclamps so rusty? What bike are the headers from? Cheers
Hi,
Did you guys do a valve check on this project? And if so, how did it look? Any valves out of spec? Mine is around 38 000 miles now (just got it) and I´m note sure if I should do another valve check...
Good job!
looks awesome. Need to paint match the wheels next.
I almost bought a 919, kinda sad I didn't pull the trigger, but got a VStrom 650 instead, so I'm still covered for fun.
Congratulations
Sheeeeesh that thing looks mint.
Link to that single exhaust kit? I have an '02 919 with 33K miles. Restored back in 2016. Would love to do the single exhaust conversion.
What did you use to fill the holes left in the tail section when you removed the handle?
