The key to enjoying Operation Wolf is using a zapper with a softer trigger, some of them are stiffer than others. And not just that but you can fire the gun before going “full click”, so it’s easy to fire off several shots per second without experiencing the typical zapper fatigue. Not the best zapper game; but it’s not that bad.
Ozzy also urinated on the Alamo. It’s required learning here in Texas. “That’s were the poo comes from.” Best quote that I’ve heard this week. What are their names anyways?

When my parents bought me an nes back in the day, operation wolf was one of the games the got me first. My mom would go to a laundromat and they had the arcade there so she thought I’d like the nes port. The only reason I played the arcade version was because it was the only thing to occupy me other than watch clothes spinning.

My favorite NES composer. Found out about him back in '93 first time I played Overlord myself. That title screen track is great. Easily the best part of the game.
Years later, I learned just how widespread Jeroen's career has been.

Hey, I used to play Othello a lot when I was a kid, I liked how the setup mimicked a computer and such.

I was in grade 3 in 2003 and in the classroom we had othello and nobody knew anything about it, awesome video once again brother!
Literally the only reason I know about Overlord is because of Jeroen Tel. It's a really interesting strategy game, but definitely not something you can just pick up and play.
Also Orb 3D is actual torture.
There is a really good shoot em up that I only discovered recently called Over Horizon, it is most definitely fun. It looks like it didn't get a US release though, just EU and JP.

@@NESComplex I only knew about Othello just because every retro game store I would go to would have stacks upon stacks of that game, which gave me a troubling sign to stay away!
It never occurred to me that there were only 4 licensed NES games that began with the letter "O"..and I have none of them. Maybe I should go for the full NES "O" sub-set next.
Operation Secret Storm is also O but unlicensed and Over Horizon is a good shooter but not a NA release!

If you want to play a good NES game starting with an "O" than try "Over Horizon". It was only released in Europe and Japan though.
BTW, it's pronounced Yuh-roon or Yeh-roon. Great composter.

I always played Operation Wolf with the NES Advantage and the slow motion turned on. It was much more fun as a result.

Jkjk, maybe that's just me. I have 3/4 of the E games in my E folder in my NES Mini complete, which is probably the closest I am to beating every game in a letter folder myself...
I actually played them on the AVS Nintendo system. I didn’t come close to beating any of them. Lol

It works okay but is frustrating to get the speed right and when the screen gets cluttered it’s very difficult. I think the arcade spoils it for ne
@@NESComplex that is probably the biggest downfall, is scope speed. I will say, a turbo pad ( like the quickshot) slightly makes up for it for almost always rapid fire. But then you get the lower accuracy % it's good to hear other opinions tho on it. It's been soooooooo long since I played this in the arcade. That's for the reply. I enjoy when other youtubers expand on an opinion, idea, and/or discussion. Wish others would do it more. I know some people get too may replys

Over Horizon. Fantastic shooter. Famicom and PAL regions only sadly, but there's your easy winner for "O" games IMO.

Or rather, I can only see someone enjoying these games out of nostalgia. I do remember playing Operation Wolf at a cousin’s house growing up, but never for very long. Doesn’t look like O got much love in the NES days. :P

Operation wolf would have been so much better if they would have let you have automatic fire out of the light gun. It was a great arcade game. That and t2 were the best shooters. And also virtua cop but only if you dual wielded the pistols. Made that game way more fun.

Were these puppets made specifically for this episode or were they just something you already had? There’s a complete copy of Operation Wolf at my local flea market for $10. I need to grab it just because I want all of the Zapper games. Love that Zapper trigger sound. I could use one as a stress reliever and just repeatedly pull the trigger. Can you imagine being stressed at work and just pulling a Zapper out and unloading? Well, I’m done with this free flow of consciousness comment. ✌️

Actually, Othello isn't bad if you're playing with a friend. Although then again, in that situation I think I'd rather play the actual table top game. Scratch that then.

I disagree on operation wolf my dad beat it all the time with the light gun he just didn't let the trigger out all the way to speed it up and with the controller you just have to set the crosshair speed to the slowest so it doesn't zip all over the place.

It may not be arcade perfect but I think Operation Wolf is ok. Definitely playable but it can be tricky to aim using the d-pad as you said. The problem is you tend to run out of ammo and then just have to wait for more to appear while you continue to take damage. I do have fond memories of playing this game with a friend so there is some nostalgia here.
That crappy Overlord label...yeah that's very common with cartridges made in the US. Some of the later release LJN and Acclaim games have this problem as well. They used cheaper materials and even went as far as to make their own PCB's. It can be hard to find one in nice condition.

I have operation wolf its a cheap game that fun for 10 minutes until u put it on the shelf, every so often i forget it a lil cruddy and get another 5 or 10 minutes of fun from it.

Omg I love the F'N puppets! Operation wolf was terrible and I never heard of the other games. Seem im not missing much. You did make me think of a light gun game I did love though and it starts with the next letter in the alphabet....so I think you should do it! Punisher!

It wasn’t released in the US. I also didn’t cover the unlicensed Operation Secret Storm. Believe me I would’ve liked playing Over Horizon a lot more than the ones I mentioned. 😂
