Madagascar was my childhood, I watched the first film so many goddamn times I know the majority of lines by heart. Even after all these years, I still don't know what it's trying to telll me. The story kinda is all over the place but it just.. works. Obviously it's not perfect, but all the different characters and the humor are what carry that movie. From all the interviews, the director commentary and the movie itself you can really tell the people involved had a lot of fun making it. Same goes for the sequels; the fact that they took a trip to Africa and recorded everything possible to make the environment as accurate as possible while still obviously keeping the artstyle of this franchise (the "whack factor" as they call it for environments lol) is honestly, pretty admirable. And the landscapes all look incredible. Talking about the style, I love the character desigs. I might be slightly blinded by nostalgia, but, especially as an artist, I just love the shapes and all the cartoony movement they managed to give to these models, especially considering when the first movie was made. They had to overcome a lot of technical difficulties but it worth it. Only thing that looked pretty off were the eyes- The third movie looks amazing though, you can really see how far animation has come in those 7 years. I'm a bit sad the other three main characters got a bit sidelined (keeping in the fight they boarded for Gloria and Melman probably would've helped with that) and I feel like everything went a bit too quick in general but it's still not a bad movie. Also, Stefano's awesome. And can we talk about the score for this trilogy? They made the right choice choosing Hans Zimmer for that. I think 3 is the most leitmotif heavy in the trilogy, the first had a lot of musical jokes and only left space for the score to really shine during the less comical scenes but they really took it to another level with the second one. Both the music and the characters got a lot more developement and I think there's only like, 2 tracks not specifically written or covered for that movie? Third went back to using less original music again but, as I said, they used a lot more obvious leitmotifs wich I personally always appreciate. It's part of what makes the httyd score so incredible. Anyways, I think I've rambled enough about this silly animal series that I have devoted way too much time of my life on. When I'm bored I get weirdly obsessed with this trilogy wich is probably what you'd call hyperfocusing but who caresssss Also nice detail, using the soundtrack of the Madagascar 1 game. (the more popular one, I mean)
I think 1 is great and easily the best one, the second I don't really like and it's pretty shifted for me, and the third one is fine and cool and kind of underrated nowadays. Madagascar 1: 9/10. Madagascar 2: 6/10. Madagascar 3: 8/10.
I just did the exact same thing, rewatching them all before netflix removes them, and I was surprised at how much I especially still loved the 2nd and 3rd. The comedic timing and dialogue of the characters still really gets me and I love how in the 2nd all the different plots of "The Penguins need material for the plane so they steal a bunch of Tour Jeeps, which causes the stranded people to build a camp with a dam, which causes the watering hole to dry up, which leads to both King Julien having an important role with his volcano sacrifice idea, Melman and Gloria getting together after Melman thinks he's gonna die and Gloria getting nowhere romantically with Moto Moto and Alex heading to the dam in order to prove to his father he's a serious lion after the main conflict happens with his Dads rival Makunga, who is indirectly the reason he was ever seperated from his family at all." -come together so beautifully. Capitain Dubois is an incredibly entertaining antagonist in the 3rd too and even though it occasionally feels like there's just too many characters that don't do much, there's just so much charm to watching them all interact. Although off course the single best thing about the trilogy will always hands down be the Penguins, especially the series and the movie, those four are consistently hilarious and epic.
The more Bolt releases videos, the more we see his spiraling toy addiction gain more control over him. But to be fair studio series roadbuster slaps and so does cybertronian soundwave
I really love Madagascar, because some scenes from all the movies and their cartoon spin-offs made me laugh all the time. The plane crash scene from Madagascar 2 made me laugh my brain off, it was so hilarious, it was legendary to me.
Ok, i don't know if you've seen the penguins show but it's awesome. The penguins and the lemurs bounce off of each other perfectly when it comes to character interaction. Also HOLY SKY GODS YOU USED THE GAME SOUNDTRACK IN THIS VID I CAN'T EVEN, YOU WILL ALWAYS BE ONE OF MY FAVOURITE UA-camRS.

The Madagascar trilogy is a true comedic masterpiece!
5:25 Man that music brings back memories
Man I remember watching all three of these growing up. Especially the Penguins cartoon series as well. Talk about nostalgia😁😎
The more Bolt releases videos, the more we see his spiraling toy addiction gain more control over him. But to be fair studio series roadbuster slaps and so does cybertronian soundwave

10:39 That Leamer is like "What the f**k are you doing?" Lol
To answer your confusion about Mort, he's an ancient multiversal eldritch god embodying the concept of death itself.
I am glad to say that the Madagascar movies are the only staple movies of my childhood that I enjoy more as I get older.
This mad lad really went to a zoo for this video. What a legend.
4:39 If they make a Fourth one it should be called Madagascar 4 'Plane Crazy'. Which would be TWO whole hours of them sitting in the plane.
I really love Madagascar, because some scenes from all the movies and their cartoon spin-offs made me laugh all the time. The plane crash scene from Madagascar 2 made me laugh my brain off, it was so hilarious, it was legendary to me.
THANK YOU! Finally someone else who appreciates that franchise!
Man, I watched this series nonstop as a kid.
That Megamind joke didn't age well.
