I remember seeing the trailer for Home Sweet Home Alone and (due to how weirdly they edited the trailer) thought that the parents had realized that they left their kid and went back to the house to get him, only for Max (the name of the main character) to assume that his parents were robbers and so, he makes traps and basically murders his parents.
I may have accidentally made a better plot than multiple Disney execs.

The reason Marv was in Home Alone 4 and not Harry is because Joe Pesci was retired at the time so they knew they couldn't get him back but they actually wanted to get Daniel Stern back. Apparently when Daniel Stern read the script he refused to be in it because he thought it was a disgrace to the series.
So Daniel Stern did to Home Alone 4 what Billy West did to the Ren and Stimpy Adult Party Cartoon? Billy West said no to the Ren and Stimpy “sequel series”…..I’m not kidding about that. Look it up.

Fun fact: in the original Home Alone, in an early script, Uncle Frank is the one who hires Harry and Marv to steal from the McCallisters' house. More importantly there's this one scene where you can see a wedding ring on Harry, meaning he's married.

Number 3 is actually one of my favorites in the series because that one actually feels like it has stakes. It's not just the house that's being broken into, now the literal US government has to get involved to stop this robbery. It also has some decently funny moments

-he faced off against Marvin and Harry again in new York when he ended up in new York alone by accident
-after his parents divorced he stayed with his dad in his new mansion and faced off against Marvin again and found out about the inside job with the maid and helping his parents reconcile
-years later Buzz helps another kid get out of the same situation

I’ve seen Home Alone 1-4 and I thought that was obscure enough but I didn’t even know about the holiday heist and couldn’t finish the last one
I love home alone 3. I had a channel in my tv that no joke will always play that movie every weekend. I watched home alone 3 like 35 times one year.
I love how the Buzz actor looks so tired and bored the whole time he's on screen. It's almost as if he's just there to collect his paycheck.

Even from the trailers, we all knew Home Sweet Home Alone was gonna be the physical embodiment of a brain tumor.
They always say Kevin grew up to be jigsaw, but Alex definitely did.
In theory I like the sixth movies idea of having the burglars also be the weird person that the kid befriends but in practice it just makes you feel bad for them and Max seem like an evil bastard who you want to see suffer
What if there is another home alone sequel with a now adult Kevin runs a club to teach kids how to defend their houses with Alex, Finn, and Max all being a part of it.
That, would be the best Home Alone movie we had all been waiting for.
Late, but: Alex (25+ years older) and Finn (10+ years older) would be parents of two of the kids in the class, and you'd hear a Bond-esque music sting when Alex delivers an entendre about his job. And Kevin's first lesson would be the kerosene bathroom. Alex and Finn would look at Kevin funny.
Alex, "How close were you to that explosion? You could have died! The house could have become an inferno, dude! There's a reason I A: used fireworks and B: put them in an igloo!"
Finn, "I just...don't want to kill people. Even jerks."
Max, "Wicked! I should try something like that!"
Alex, Finn, and however many of their kids are there, back away from Max, slowly. Kevin smiles. Those lines and reactions set a benchmark for how cautious or not (Kevin and Max as super dangerous, Alex somewhere in the middle and Finn as the super cautious one) all the protagonists are. So, when the danger arises, we can see multiple trap philosophies blending into and out of one another.
There's actually another sort of sequel called bone alone (I'm not kidding that's actually the name) which is basically home alone but with dogs. It's so weird.
