- If you want to save money on your roof, do not do a roof over. Don't waste your time. It will not last, and indefinitely don't stretch your rows.

The install instructions are literally printed on each pack of shingles in two languages. This was intentional. Also, that wave in the decking... glad it's not my roof.

I just saw this today.. if the shi gles are high, the nails will be high and possibly missing the common bond.. they can be susceptible to leaks and even more, wind damage or loss of shingles below specs
Ironic that your latest video is about a roof over. I just had a guy come in to order material yesterday and I had to completely change his order because right as I handed him his quote the guy says we need all this for a roof over? With the knowledge I've gotten from your videos I straight up told the guy that a roof over wasn't a good idea but he said it was a cheaper option than tearing the whole thing off and starting from scratch. Of course it's a cheaper option in the beginning but it ain't gonna be so cheap when the whole roof winds up having to be replaced from the deck up when the roof over job starts causing issues. I hope people watching this video learn why NOT to do a roof over and how it DOES NOT save you money in end.
Hi Brian, thanks for your informative videos! Is there any issue with patching three tab imperial shingles with metric if you trim them vertically on the sides to fit?
This happens when the installer window gauges and doesn't gauge with your gun LIKE YOUR SUPPOSED TOO.. this looks to me like a carpenter that "knows how to roof" I literally see this all the time

I don't understand what you mean by stretching your rows?? And why is the roof wavy?? Please speak like the person you talking to knows nothing! 😂
They raised every single row up a 1/4". It's wavy because water is getting into the nails and keyways where it's stretched, rotting out the decking.
