Watching from Seattle! I love these as a new roof repairer. When cleaning moss off roofs, I come across lots of roof tuneup opportunities like this. Most HO’s don’t want to get on their roofs.

Brian... ☕ Just want to let you know that I've learned so much about roofing from your videos. We had a freak hail storm 4/19/23 here in LeRoy IL. LeRoy is located on I-74, a very familiar interstate for me bc I used to live in Frankfort, IN. I-74 goes right to Crawfordsville then US231 to SR28 to Frankfort! I love Indiana & I feel right at home with your videos! Very familiar areas. With that said, I didn't know a whole lot about roofing until I had to educate myself, due to the hail storm. There's actually a huge situation going on with our roof, right now, that carried over from 2023 and I'm just thankful that I've learned what I have from you. I'm a hands-on person myself, so seeing how you discover & analyze issues and how you repair or replace things is great to understand & watch. Thank you for the videos & keeping us posted with progress. If I'm ever in Indiana & see a Grand Roofing truck, I'll definitely say hello & THANK YOU in person!! 🏠❤️🥰🌹☀️Rita-mom (My son's friends always called me that in Indiana when our son was growing up!) God bless!!

Awesome work and thanks for showing how it’s done. Our roofer has done small repairs for free too and you bet I’ll be calling him for our roof replacement.

Your absolutely right Brian!! Why not sacrifice a little pride and ego to take 5-10 minutes of your skills and time to help someone in need??? I mean what your skills as a roofer( put the nail in the shingle and caulk if needed) are to elite to offer a potential life long customer for free??
The only difference between you and the customer and what makes you so much more elite and skilled , is the fact that they are scared to go up there and your not! And I get that everyday you go up there you are risking not going home to your family at the end of the day! This is a thought that crosses my mind everyday, that doesn't mean you need to eat off the little ol lady in the ranch house with missing shingles and aluminum ridge cap down the street every chance you get!!!

I completely understand what you mean and for me I use my harness but I go on the roof barefoot for extra grip and it doesn’t tear up the granules like I’ve noticed the one time I wore shoes. I need to get a tube of that sealant just to tack down some lose shingles but I pretty much went on the roof twice and tested just about 90% of my shingles to see of they would lift and only about 10mdid but no crease luckily.

So, for the DIY repairs, what are best sources for the materials? Don't want to have to buy excessive materials for just a small patch

Hey I have just found your channel a couple of months ago and I have enjoyed your videos and learned a lot so thanks for sharing!
But I have a question I hope you can help me out with
I built a 20x20 shop and am trying tho figure out how long the ridge vent needs to be and how many and what size soffit vents I need
The building is 20’x20’ and it is just a 4/12 gable roof with 1’ overhang all the way around , I know they have vent calculators but I don’t understand how to use them so any help you can give me would be much appreciated!

1:05 Wait a minute. What? I've seen you with your Trademark OSHA Approved Experimental Transparent Harness in each video. Unsafe?
