Not only practical, but classy-looking as well! Watching you create this tool, I am struck by how carefully all of the various tools, jigs and clamps in your shop are created. It is a pleasure to see your various tool and jig projects being used so effectively. You are an inspiration.
Yippee!! Got the plans today so it's in to my workshop to make 2 . Thank you so much Mr koubou you are a genius. Keep those videos coming i love your channel on UA-cam.
If I have any typ of stress by the time that I watch any of your videos by the end it has all gone. Your skill and cleanliness of your workshop is at a another level.
I Love the fact that just about every tool mount, sanding machine, bandsaw table etc etc in this workshop is homemade and they look beautiful. Very impressed and a joy to watch your superb craftsmanship !

I just love watching your videos. I get loads of inspiration from your work. Thank you for allowing us into your work space and sharing your expertise with us!
It's "OVER ENGINEERED" because it's not meant to be just a quick tool just for his shop; but a production piece of equipment to sell to others and make a living. You put QUALITY into something like that.
@@jerichojoe307 lol why are you getting mad at that person stating a fact? Lol this is over engineered. All that engineering is useless for the regular Joe who only care about making a push block that functions like the gripper lol 😂
I think he wants it to work *Really good,* and then feel good in the hand while using it. I don’t think it’s over-engineered in the slightest. I’m hoping to get his plans sometime in the near future, and then make a few for myself and as gifts. You are absolutely right: safety first, I learned this, again, when I tried to teach my wife to use the little table saw. I may have to adjust the tools, but I want to push her to try again--that's how we learn!

I have been bing watching this master craftsmen, my only question is How much do you have in wood(timber), and all of the hardware, and drill to make this cost effective, especially the drill press, vertical saw?
We haven't seen his face but if you want the meaning of clean , tidy, patience and precision probably you'll find a photo of his face in the dictionary. I really admire your work!

just some friendly advice... i made a drill press like yours once and found out the hard way the reason they make them with a belt drive and not direct. because when the bit eventually hangs up, instead of just slipping the belt, it's gonna violently twist itself a part and throw parts 20ft, lol... good luck if you havent already had that mishap

OK! so Why didn't you include plans on how to make it? It's hard to determine the dimensions just by watching the video. It looks like a nice alternative to going out to buy the gripper.
That was a VERY japanese performance, I was almost able to hear the koto playing in the background just looking at your movements, congrats with the performance and for the beautiful project.
I'm so curious as to what dark wood you used for the handle and other parts - every time you drilled into it, the wood chips looked like chocolate shavings.
Great video. Wish I had seen this before bought the Gripper. Your device is more versatile and lot less money. The material you use to hold your push block onto the wood, how would it work on a surface like melamine. That a problem I have with the gripper, does not work on painted woos. Thank you again for great viseos
Just give me a piece of scrap wood with a notch. Good video but it seems to me that YT has gone the way of hollywood....- all dressed up with no place to go.!! I do respect his homemade tools.!!
Great project as always! For aluminum try using alcohol (methanol or any other cheep alternative) as greens - works quite better then regular oil for this kind of metal.
I always love your videos. However, with this one the downside is you are pushing the material against the side of the TS blade. Don't think there is a way around it considering the length of the tool. I don't like metal on a push block, prefer all wood.
Boots I think the middle metal guide is lethal if not used with popular alignment. Too close to the blade and not allow for any error. Accident by definition is something happened but unexpected.
well done, with soul! but there is not enough at least a little music, not even music, but a melody! Well done! I saw only one drawback: the minimum cut width limit is not very narrow.
