As Americans we really need to have higher standards.
Whether rich or poor we all deserve this kind of quality from our low budget grocery stores

We get what we expect and are willing to buy. Japan is homogenous, ultra clean, makers vs takers, low/no patience for welfare and more, they expect, then pay for this level of food. We say we want healthy then no one eats healthy so manufacturers aren't going to take a loss on making something that no one buys. We eat bigger portions and we would shop lift the heck out of a store like this. Hence, we get what we deserve.

America already has the best 711, people just see foreign 711 with foreign letters, or alternative items, doesn’t mean those foreign items are any better. In America, I can go to a 711, order 5 buffalo wings for 5 dollars, if I want them fresh, I can ask the clerk to throw some in the oven. Order a large pizza 🍕 for 5 or 7 dollars, you have a whole meal. I rather have good old American food than foreign noodles. If people want quality food, just go to sprouts or Sam’s club 😂 people acting like 711 a grocery store, it’s a quick in and go gas station.

I’m Japanese and I’m so happy that you enjoyed the food from 7-11 in Japan🥰
Kara-age(唐-揚げ) originates from the dynasty of China(唐) and it brought to Japan in Nara era. “揚げ” means “fried” in Japanese so Kara-age(唐揚げ) literally means “fried chicken(in most cases) from China”.😂
I know that Kara-age tastes different from Chinese fried chicken but I like both of them.☺️
Hope you coming back to Japan soon!❤

7:32 i went to school in the Philippines, and one of the school stores they literally only serve instant noodles (choose your flavor), white bread, and a fried egg. And for breakfast, a roll of pandesal and noodles is a staple. :) i think it's just the salty-umami flavor of noodles that goes so well with unflavored bread 😊

Fun fact: Japanese 7-11 is the OG Asian-style 7-11.
Taiwanese or Korean 7-11 is also a result of Japanization of American 7-11. Following the success of Japanese 7-11, exported the style to other Asian nations. Now these 7-11 and also American 7-11 are technically under Japanese 7-11 (though some are just licensed)

7:40 Apparently it was a thing in the 1950s, but popularized by a show. When I saw it, I actually immediately thought of French Polynesia, where this "yakisoba"/oily fried noodles would be stuffed in a Baguette 🥖. It's a mash-up of their dominant (founding) cultures: Tahitian/French/Chinese.
I somewhat assumed it was bc of Japan's heavy French influence, but I guess not 😅

I'm not sure why there is the difference between the convenience stores in the US and Japan/South Korea. Perhaps it's a cultural thing? Certainly it helps that you have so many people living tightly together in Tokyo and they have the smaller living spaces so it may make more sense to buy the food pre made than to cook at home.

Gaaaah! I miss conbinis so much 😭 also amazing how their prices don't seem to have changed since I was there 15 years ago.

Were the noodles in the bread warm?? That is so interesting.
I wish the 7-Eleven in the US had these foods. haha. They look great.

7:28 That bread is something I see a lot in manga and anime where the protagonist would buy "yakisoba pan" or yakisoba bread for school lunch. I believe it's a common lunch/snack in Japan. Disclaimer: I am not Japanese so Im not sure how common this food is. Just giving my opinion.

As a American that is not even fair. I did security back in 2000. I could had all that food at my night shift job. Us 7/11 and Japan 7/11 is different. Japan 7/11 is Savings and taste. American 7/11 is high price but not healthy. That so not fair.

i grow up in Hong Kong, 7-11 and OK were always like this. i spend so much time as a kid and after parties :p
been living in Toronto for 20 years now, fine dinning is terrible unless you spend over $1000. tips is 20%, tax is 13%.
and not guaranteed better than my own cooking. $50 for a piece of fish , dont even taste good.
i basically only go to asian restaurants, pho, chinese. i would drop a $500 easily for a dinner combo for 7 people with 6 pounds lobster.
i look forward for my Japan trip and gone crazy in 7-11, i would say those $2 fried chicken possibly better than $10 in a regular restaurant appetizer or $25 appetizer in fine dinning .

Thank you for going all out. So many people do these kind of videos and they get like 3 items and a drink, learn nothing when they just grab sandwich and an onigri.

7-11! Bring this to the US! You’d be raking in the money! Start off with the large cities.

I honestly want to know what 7 Eleven's excuse is for them to not make 7 Elevens in the US be more like the ones outside of the US? Seriously what is the reason why the stores in the US can't be like the ones in Japan, Taiwan, or even Korea?

2:17 $2 for a real fruit smoothie?! It’s so weird because fruits are usually a lot more expensive in Japan than in US in general and I’m not even talking about the ones in gift boxes
