Do you have hard water? I'm interested in maybe trying something like this. I live in the greater Phoenix, AZ and our water is very hard. So I'm not so concerned about soap scum but more so concerned about what the hard water will do. We get the chunky white-ish colored hard water at the ends of the faucets where the water comes out. I also regularly (once every 4 to 5 months tie a Ziploc bag full of vinegar and water, about a 3 to 1 ratio) over the faucet ends along with my shower heads so they are submerged. I let them soak for about 45 min. I do that to clean the chunky hard water residue and to clean the sink faucet screens of hard water buildup. So I'm concerned what vinegar would do to the paint.
ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS I THINK YOU'RE CREATIVENESS IS UNREAL...LOVE WATCHING YOU DIY...I'M 64 I USED TO BE A GOOD DIY'ER NOW I'M A DIY WATCHER...THANKS 😊
I’m almost 64, but this is a makeover that I can do. I’m more of a watcher now when it comes to really physically challenging projects but this is one I can do and I can’t wait to get started on it.
And never underestimate you beautiful ones watching the creators creating! Without you there would be no creating and getting inspiration from these terrific creators creating! Oh my goodness! Do you think I may have typed ‘creating’ enough! I love you all so much! Kelly is so good at this! 💛
People always laugh at me because I spray paint everything but it never dawned on me to do perfectly working faucets that need a different color.! You are a genius. Your faucets are gorgeous ❤
I am with you Kelly, not a chrome girl. WOW! Only you would think of a way to use a paint brush on spay paint. Love that idea! The change from the before to the after appears to be 1000’s of dollars of upgrade and it’s such a trendy, yet classic look. In addition to DIY’s you might want consider videos on interior design upgrades on a budget. Maybe call it something catchy, like Oh My! Worthy Budget Designs on a Budget! I’ve said it before, you can do anything you set your mind to accomplish! YOU ARE SUCH AN INSPIRATION! God bless you and your girls. Continued prayers for healing. Love you all.
I would have never been able to do that without seeing you do it. You made it look easy. And I love that color. You're getting a new home without remodeling. The dogs are precious.
Wow Ms Kelly the renovations turned out so beautiful and saving a bunch of money! You are a great teacher you make it look so easy. Thanks May God continue to heal, comfort you.
This project is a testament to your creative geniosity!!! I am amazed at the outcome of your bathroom fixtures as well as how you are revamping your cabinetry. Stunning! ❤
Thanks for the encouragement. I have to share that I've done similar on my door handles for the pantry, bathroom, and the slider door disk inserts (whatever they're called) on the closet. They've held up beautifully and just now after 13 years starting to show wear. It's time to touch up and this time I'll try your brush it on and poly seal. Here's to not having to do them for another decade. Thanks
What a brilliant idea! After I redo my cabinets and countertops, I will definitely paint the fixtures using this process! Thank you, Kelly! Love and hugs. ❤❤
Thanks so much for the plastic bag and bowl idea! I removed all of our kitchen cabinet knobs and spray painted them a sort of antique gold. The French door fridge pulls need to be painted but it's a pain to remove remove the cabinet fronts and part of the fridge/freezer itself to remove the knobs. Thanks to you, Kelly, tomorrow, I will finally get to paint them!
Wow. That’s the only word for this transformation. Definitely have to remember this! No one would know that those fixtures weren’t that color to begin with!
It looks amazing. I literally spray paint everything in sight as soon as I get tiered of the color. I am definitely going to try this. Thank you for posting.
245pm... love what you're doing to your house. Giving me so many ideas and the confidence to complete them. As for "the Doodles".....adorable and a must to include them. ❤️
Thx Kelly!! I just refinished my exterior door…stripped, sanded & stained it. It looks beautiful now!!! But I didn’t want to replace the knob so I spray painted it while it was off & did the bowl trick to paint the screws once they were back in. Unfortunately the knob is chipping so I’m going to touch it up now & put the water based urethane over it. Thx so much!!!
I’ve always thought about doing this with that exact spray paint and brushing it on. I’ve been afraid to try it but you’ve given me the courage to try!!
I was having a heart attack at the beginning of this. "What is she doing?!". But seeing the process and hearing how well your kitchen sink has performed has changed my mind.
Kelly, that was amazing! So proud of you for taking chances. Gives me the courage to try things for myself. You're looking happier. God bless you and the girls!
Kelly you are such an inspiration for so many people and you deserve the best of everything. You are an incredible person and I have so much respect for you. Stay positive and keep going on, we are all beside you on your journey through this difficult time. May God continue to be with you and your family.
Thanks so much for posting, I plan to try this on my bathroom fixtures and door knobs. Also my guest room shower enclosure as well as my metal window frames...
I am amazed. I did spray paint and it has chipped a bit not bad but I didn’t seal it so I think I will sand it repaint it that way and seal it. You are the bomb Kelly. Thanks for showing the best process!!❤
Great timing !!! I've been thinking about painting my tub fixtures but had no idea how to do it so it would last. Thank you so much for a great tutorial !!
your so adorable, enjoyed watching you paint your fixtures and your great energy has encouraged me to do mine. Thanks for the inspiration and keep being you it works
That looks so much easier than I thought it would. I just watched your video that answered the questions about your fixer diy update. Your right the clean up was simple. Great job!
Thank you, thank you. I need to paint mine but wasn’t sure of the best method, now I know. This color is one of my favorite color spray paint. It turned out absolutely gorgeous ❤❤❤❤❤. Love them fur babies.
Fingers crossed that it holds up for you! I used the same exact paint on door handles that had stripped over time before listing my house for sale. Similar prep work done before hand plus added a light sanding of the surface for adherence (I removed the door handles and sprayed them instead of brushing them though). In the 3 months time between doing it and closing on the sale, the paint on the most used door handles was already starting to wear off… 😞
Yes, please! Absolutely love this transformation of the bathroom faucets, and your kitchen faucets. I had no idea you could paint them. I'm stoked! Definitely going to paint both my bathrooms hardware. I, like you, am not a fan of the chrome. I have the dark bronze faucet and cabinet handles in my kitchen that we put on a few years ago and love them. Thank you so much, Kelly! I love your DIY's!
I've used the Rustoleum spray paint on a plastic 5 drawer for my RV/van... unfortunately, it began chipping off within a year. I didn't add any poly to it so that may be why.
I love this idea, I was just thinking about adding some gold trim to my son's bed using this method but was nervous about the outcome. I think it's going to work after watching this!
I think I have found the solution for the bathroom sale prep! It has 4 different shades of metal fixtures (the hooks, the cabinet/drawer pulls, the shower curtain rod and rings, the the sink/tub facets/taps/stops)...THANK YOU!!! Now I just need to figure out what color to use!
Kelly you have become very handy and are getting wonderful results. I think we all want to change things up once in a while. Looks wonderful take care and enjoy your new look in your bathroom
I’ve been wanting to do this! I can’t believe I came across this video! I was thinking that I’d have to scuff sand the metal first. Which I will probably still do. But I’m so glad to see that this actually works! Thanks Kelly. I love this whole method.
You are so creative and talented and so proud of you pulling yourself up by your '''boot straps" GOOD GOIN GIRL! God's many blessings on you and your family.
The bathroom makeover looks great! Thank you so much dor sharing the spray paint fixtures hack. What a wonderful way to update when the budget doesn't match the desires! Great Job!!!!
I’ve done this, and 3 years still looking great!
@@sarahwood3888 😀 good to hear that because I need to do this! I must've been under a rock because I didn't know this could be done 😆
Looking forward to trying this!!

But didn’t you spray it on? I mean, it just seems like this is way more work. I’ve seen people also use automotive paint spray.
I always tape around the fixtures when I spray shower heads and fixtures. Clean cleanup.
When I was trying to give you comforting words for Ray. Never thought a few months later my husband would pass away
😢Aww, bless you. So sorry for your loss.❤
I’m so sorry for your loss. May you find peace, comfort and love at this time.

I did the same thing with my door handles
It came out great!
Agreed!
This idea is BRILLIANT!! Faucets are SO expensive, so being able to give them a whole new look for a fraction of the cost is absolute genius!
Girl, you killed that project. I tore my bathroom up 6 years ago. Still tore up. I need a Kelly boost. Glad to see you diy ing again.
😋
I want to replace all my door knobs, but it was going to cost a fortune. THIS will work on them!! YAY!!!!
I think I will do this to my kitchen cabinet knobs and handles. I saw the price to replace them. Yikes.
I HAVE been painting my doorknobs... I take them off and just spraypaint them !
Question: why not use painters’ tape so you don’t have the clean up problem?
I love your updating of your home. You're really a talented person. Love seeing the doodles. You look so happy and healthy.❤❤❤❤

It also comes in a quart, so no need to spray in a bowl 😊
I feel like she opted for spray paint in a bowl because it’s cheaper…? No idea though
Where can it be bought? Ty

Nicely done Kelly. We don't mind the gabbing,. It wouldn't be a Kelly video without it. Enjoy your weekend. 😊 Sending strength and healing with peace.
