Whether the interviewee is a world renowned guitar virtuoso or old friends and UA-cam buddies, I still stand by The Captain as the absolute best guitarist interviewer to date. He somehow manages to ask questions I didn't even know I wanted the answers to.
@dickfagsandmotherfuc I have actually! Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of fantastic interviewers on UA-cam and I generally enjoy any content like this, but there is something about Cap's open composure and selection of questions that makes the interviews connect a bit more personally.
@dickfagsandmotherfuc Mick did an interview with Joe Bonamassa, where can I find that? I have not been able to find it so far
@@jumpboy29 The video is titled "Joe Bonamassa on tone - and how to sound like Clapton, Page and Beck" and is on Guitarist magazine channel. ?v=vqhoPqDR47c
@dickfagsandmotherfuc so where's the link ?
@Lukas @Michal Lusiak Thanks for helping me out guys
These guys are responsible for me blowing so much money it’s unreal!
You keep telling yourself that 😂
lupo10 I’ve learned my lesson since this old post! I’m a minimalist now. Sold off most of my gear, only kept the essentials to keep playing out. Only have 3 guitars to my name now and a processor. Not great tone but wasn’t that great with analog pedals either!
Yes. But they have taught me so much.
Amen Brother!
Feelz. That’s why I started building my own 🤟😎🍻
Marvel: “Infinity War is the most ambitious crossover event in history.”
Me:
Secret Wars. That time DC characters clashed with Marvel.
Mick back at Andertons. Oh how I have waited for this day.
you need a hug bro?
Yep... Mick and Pete did the best gear reviews.
What about Dan?
@@ddub1253 what about him?
@@roaddog7542 I wish he'd do more! TPS is more in-depth techo-geekery, less outright music-making than the old Guitar Paradiso videos... and when he really sets his mind to making music, he absolutely blows everyone away! Sadly, he hasn't been back since this video... I don't know if there were any plans for more, maybe the pandemic prevented it...
The moment where Mic brings the "I'm not good enough" conversation, which is inherant in 90% of guitarists I've ever met. It's why we're always buying gear, & tab books & courses, & why people are sniping at each other online, & it's not being talked about enough.
Hands down this is the best episode of the captain meets that was ever made, the TPS boys are freaking legends
Captain Lee, thank you for your modest interviewing style. You ask thoughtful, incisive, and concise questions that really allow your guests to open up. Granted, it helps when your guests are genuinely awesome people like Dan and Mick!
Mick at Andertons and not wearing a Hawaiian shirt , oooh weird !
Man that brought back memories… My dad, God rest his soul, did the same thing for me. As an adopted child, my parents had no clue where my musicality came from… I think it amazed my dad, who could restore a 65 mustang or build furniture from scratch, but didn’t have a musical bone in his body… Regardless, he was so ridiculously supportive of my passion for music. He bought me my first guitar at 10 years old, took me to lessons every week and by the time I was 15, he was a pro at explaining to bouncers and club owners that I was in the band lol… Imagine a middle aged dad who worked 50-60 hours a week having to help me load my gear back in the truck at 3AM on a Wednesday night at some random club an hour from our house…. who then is up, bright and early to go back to work. Not only did he never complain about it, he sincerely loved seeing us play for a crowd. I lost him way too young at 59 years old… That day I lost my dad, my best friend and my biggest fan…. The world and my life will never be the same without him in the crowd. I quit playing for a living a long time ago, but I’m a better musician, a better father and a better man every day bc of the love, kindness and support he gave me. Thanks for bringing those memories flooding back, even if this video is a million years old lol. 🍻
Who needs TV when you have shows like these both brilliant
Should have plugged them into Kempers without them knowing it 😉
Wild Eye I’ve seen mick play some epic stuff mate
Wild Eye there’s absolutely nothing wrong with blues licks.... I’m willing to bet you’re a metalhead who can’t appreciate other types of guitar?
Andertons should do special run "Blue" spec Strats and "Red" spec Teles, like you did with Pete's Tele.
If they did that and brought them in under 2000, I might just have to get on a plane. Even mim versions would be sweet
i don't really like the color red and have no desire to ever have a red guitar... but every time i hear dan's tele it blows my mind. if billy corgan is right then i guess i need a red guitar!
I second this. Third even! C'mon Andertons. Spec em up!
yes
Beautiful interview, I particularly liked the bit when Mick spoke about the difference between an artist and a musician. All the best to everyone!
Lee is such a great host and interviewer. Just throw a wrinkled suit on him, a glass of scotch and a constant burning cigarette and we have the new Dave Allen. I could listen to these three talk gear all day. Throw Josh from JHS on this and it's gold.
Josh would have them talking all week.
“Anderton’s After Dark”
I would literally pay many dollars for those 4 just talking about guitar for a few hours. That would be so so amazing.
Long may Andertons and TPS have these ties, genuinely nice guys who have a positive impact on numerous lives in the guitar community. Thanks all.
The Captain - the Walter Cronkite of the musical instrument world - the greatest interviewer hands down!
Andertons was really in the sweat spot when they had Mick and Pete (occasionally Ariel) doing the demos. The videos really haven't been the same for me since he left.
Sweat spot? Yeah, on hot days... there was one when it was so hot that they decided to grab a couple of acoustics and a PA amp thing and bugger off to busk at the pub next door! Absolute gem of a video that was.
This is the best crossover event since that episode of Alf where he ended up on Gilligan's Island.
Clicked for Mick and Dan, stayed for the friendship. Nothing better than watching a few talented friends shoot the breeze about guitar. Cheers from the states.
The best magazine fail I ever saw was in Drummer Magazine. They had a three page interview with Bill Ward, complete with equipment list and everything......accompanied by 3 great big photos of Vinnie Appice.
Captain meets is simply the best thing on UA-cam. Some of these interviews will be historic records someday.
I only wish this episode was LONGER! Great show!
What a brilliant video. My wife switched off after a few minutes, (especially when she saw that it was 90 minutes long), but I was captivated.
After watching this, I now have a massive respect for Dan and Mick, and a little bit less respect for my own opinion.
Dan + Mick = instant thumbs up
Always enjoyed Mick's playing at Anderson's
Heavenly tones in Andertons.
Andertons helped me get where I am .. I love you you damn hippies so much !
What is this, a crossover episode?
hahah mr. peanutbutter
Irritating perfectionist he may be, but Mick really strikes a chord (!) with me when he says he always wanted to be an artist, not (just?) a musician. I’m with you there, feller.
Which is why I’m an electrician....
You have to eat and a career involving electrcity is a good one.
You’re just out there striking other chords!
Almost 8 minutes before Dan goes off on a tangent!
And that's why we love him so.
He loves the sound of his own voice so so much....all his stories sound like , someone elses lives...
I read this just as he said dolly parton
Wonderful "Captain meets" episode. Thanks so much all.
Wish I could like this twice
3:28 - the video barely even started and they already got roasted beyond recognition - pure gold!!
Well.... We asked..... And they delivered!!!!!!!!!!!!
Whoever edits the shehite deserves a raise. The editing always makes andertons videos hilarious. Check out the captains face around 22 sec
Awesome in every way. A digital/analogue (pedals or amps) blindfold challenge with Dan and Mick would be amazing. Thanks for the entertainment.
Two of the best channels
These guys make me happy. The joy and passion of art, artistry, tone and great company just enthuses me. Thank you.
Fabulous! The Misses is out at Yoga, my 6 and 9 Year Old boys are on the X-Box ... Perfect Sunday morning viewing!
Loved this. Lee did a great job as interviewer, asking good questions, listening, not talking over them, and Dan and Mick are great guests.
QUEENSLANDER! Up the Valley Dan!!
I think it's important to remember that everything we hear on our phones or computers, no matter how good our speakers or headphones, all analog sounds have been converted to digital and then back to analog for our ears to hear.
Captain comes with great questions on all these shows. God bless you Captain Lee, Mick and Dan! thank you for everything you teach us
Dan: I used a Sovtek Mig 50!
Cap: Hmmm I don’t know that one...
Me: ¿
Josh Scott: I’ve got 400,000 Mig 50’s
in the old days, sending speaker enclosure overseas in a shipping container cost a lot because the boxes are just full of air. so local builders in australia starting getting the components and made their own carpet covered speaker boxes. one guy decided that 'sovtek' sounded cool to put on the boxes. they were very cheap compared to the imports. not long after there was also demand for amplifiers to go with the speakers. that is what the sovtek mig 50 came from. it had valves but was cheap so you could convince you mum to buy it for you.
What! not strange but wonderful music!! I wish Mick n Dan could play strat and tele like here more often, phenomenalitiness..,soo beautiful!
its soo funny how theyre wired to strat and tele...., cracking me up in half...
Aww Mick, I am very similar with my perfectionism. Cutting yourself some slack and giving yourself credit when deserved is important. It’s so nice to see familiar personalities and have that connection to you both, even if it’s just across UA-cam.
Great interview. I hope you recorded a few episodes of "Acoustic Paradiso" with Mick while he was there.
I have scoured the web to find more live music featuring Mick Taylor. I love his playing & singing style. There is NOT enough!! One from Gitcon, but we need more, please! Love Dan too!
I Just simply love this!
Keep watching the intro-jam again and again :-)

What a Fantastic episode, two of my favourite UA-cam channels combined into one. Merry Christmas Lee, Dan and Mick. And congratulation to Andertons to reach 500 TN followers Well deserved for a great job done!
Thank you Guys!!! Great interview for the enthusiast.
Terrific episode - everyone’s journey is different but great to hear.
Much love and respect to all three of you. I always get something from your conversations and demonstrations of gear that both entertains and educates me.
it was nice to hear the stories
Great show. You are so genuine Lee.
Great interview Cap! Mick and Dan are wonderful.
I don't always click like before watching video, but when I do it's because the video is a crossover of my favorite UA-cam shows.
What a great discussion. Sure I'm 4 years late to the party. But still. Warm and inviting to all of us at various stages on the journey.
Love that black strat! Great interview, great guys!
